- CAVENDER, EDMONSTON, FRASIER, HAYS, MALLORY, MATHIS, ROCKETT, SHERRITT, THORTON posted by Jerry Cavender on Wednesday, December 25, 1996
- Dubois Co. IN queries: 1. I am researching CAVENDER family that resided in Dubois Co. from 1833 to early 1900's. Associated families by marriage: HAYS, SHERRITT, EDMONSTON, ROCKETT, FRASIER, MATHIS, THORTON. I would like to exchange information with anyone that may be researching these families or their descendants. Other families were connected by marriages of children of Judge Anson Cavender to Sarah Jane Hays (granddaughter of Judge/Rev. Willis Hays) and to Griffith Rockett. Marriages of children of Judge William Cavender were to William B. Sherritt, B.B.L. Edmonston, James Frasier, Mary Ann Thornton, & Mary J. Mathis. There are a few more Cavender marriages not listed here. My Cavender line is descended from the marriage of Jasper Cavender (son of Anson) to Sarah Jane Hays. 2. Mrs. William MALLORY of Ottwell in 1939 (per Wilson's History) was noted to have the Family Bible of Anson Cavender, and other items belonging to the pioneer Cavender Family. I would like to communicate with anyone that has information on the present location of these items. 3. The Anson Cavender Cemetery north of Jasper was to be mapped in the spring of 1996. I would like to obtain the results of the mapping. Can anyone provide me with a contact in Jasper that could provide this information?
