Be aware that the ftp server is very busy. If you get a message that the file cannot be opened, keep trying. It may take several attempts for you to get through, but have patience. The files are worth the wait!!!

I make it a habit that anytime I transcribe records, whether for myself or to share with others, I type them in text format so that I can submit them to the USGenWeb project.
