All the wisconsin counties alphabetically after racine county in wisconsin, were left out of the wisconsin marriage projects microfiche index. The wisc. state hist. soc. is publishing these missed counties marriages in book form. They include all information in the marriage application such as place born, parents full names, town or co. they live in. They have a groom & bride etc. on one line & bride & groom etc. on 2nd half of book. Thousands of illinois couples got married in wisconsin, because it was easier, faster & cheaper than getting married in illinois. The counties already in book form are: 1. Price, Rusk,Sawyer,Taylor,Vilas & Wabash county in one volume. $45. 2. Richland co. $45. 3. Rock co. $70. 4. Shawano co $45. 5. Waukesha co $50. 6. Wood co. $45. These books are from begining dates to 1907. What a bargain. County marriages in progress (which i hear just means a genealogical society has to cross check the actual court house applications inf. with the filmed marrage applications inf. they have in a printout thats finished) before the book is sent to the printer.
