Mrs. Louis Veronica M. Kort, 72, of 19 West 2nd St., Clintonville died on Mon., Dec. 14, at the Clintonville Community Hospital.
She was born to the late John and Catherine Philippi on May 24, 1909 in the Town of Green Valley, Shawano County. As an infant, the family moved to Embarrass and when she was five they moved to the Suring area, where she grew up on a farm. She was a graduate of Suring High School, class of 1928. She was married on Dec. 12, 1928 in Suring to Louis Kort. They resided in the Suring-Gillett-Navarino area before moving to Clintonville in 1940. She was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, Louis, one daughter, Mrs. Eugene (Joyce) McLaughlin of Kimberly, one son, Louis M. Kort, Jr. of Appleton; 14 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, four sisters, Mrs. Kathryn Aldrich of Oconto, Mrs. Eric (Elizabeth) Wisco of Underhill, Mrs. Joseph (Cecelia) Malich of Milwaukee, Mrs. Arnold (Charlotte)Klattt of Underhill, three brothers, Matt and John Philippi of Suring, Eugene of Janesville. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Grace McLaughlin in 1978.
Services will be on Thurs. at 11 at St. Rose Catholic Church, Clintonville, with the Rev. Charles Shebuski officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. A parish prayer service will be at 6:30 on Wednesday.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday and on Thursday from 8:30 to 10:30 at the Heur-Sievers-Rhodes and Beil Funeral Home, Clintonville.
