Funeral services will be held Friday for Elwood Mitchell, 70, Pella, who died Wednesday in Clintonville after being seriously ill the past 2 months.
Rites will be held at 11 AM at the Bethlehem Lutheran church In Pella and interment will be in the church cemetery.
Mitchell was born April 7, 1900 in the town of Belle Plaine, the son of the late Mr. & Mrs. William Mitchell. He was married to Rose Grimm at Pella on Jan. 9, 1919. They operated the Town of Marble cheese factory from 1929 until 1951 and later converted it to the Triple 0 Club, They moved to Pella in 1962.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Leola, Mrs. Ronald Rowland, New London; Patricia, Mrs. Wilbert Zillmer, Marion; 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. His wife and a son preceded him in death. Other survivors include 2 brothers and 5 sisters. They are Percy Mitchell, Marion; Richard Pella; Irene, Mrs. Peter Heady, Appleton; Margaret, Mrs. Herman Wasserman, Burlington; Lila, Mrs. Max Thurner, and Monica, Mrs. Arnold Jensen, both of Clintonville, and Priscilla, Mrs. Al Bane, California.
