RITES SUNDAY FOR MRS. MINNIE BALKE 

Funeral services for Mrs. Minnie Balke, 71, will be held at 2 PM Sunday at St. John's Lutheran church of Leopolis and burial will be in the church cemetery there. 

Mrs. Balke died Thursday evening at the Homme Home at Wittenberg where she had resided since her illness 1 in a half years ago. Previously she had lived in Wittenberg, Town of Herman and the town of Pella. She was born Jan. 29, 1887 in Pella, the daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Fred Laude and was married to Orrin Balke on May 30, 1907 in the town of Pella. They lived on a farm in the town of Pella until 1944 when they moved to another farm in the town of Herman. 

Following her husband's death in 1947 Mrs. Balke moved to Wittenberg.
