Thursday, February 21, 1946 GEORGE MCALLISTER, 70, DIES AT GRESHAM Death claimed George McAllister, Gresham resident, Monday, following a lingering illness. He was born July 18, 1875, at Stockbridge, Calumet county, and thus was 70 years and 7 months of age at the time of his death. At the age of 14 years he, with his parents, moved to Antigo where
he grew to manhood.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Mader funeral
home in Gresham, with the Rev. Davis officiating, and Interment was in
the Red Springs cemetery.

Driver of the car was Clarence Alfred Ahlgrimm, 44, of the town of
Pella. He
At the time of the accident he was heading toward the creamery to
pick up Graf with whom he contemplated making a fishing trip. Both fishing
and camping equipment were found in the car. Ahlgrimm was travelling north
on the Town of Angelica road that crosses the railroad right-of-way a quarter
mile east of Zachow. His

There were 600 passengers on the fast vacation train. It was headed east toward Green Bay on the first leg of its journey to Chicago. Conductor P.L. Raidy of Fond du Lac was in charge. Its departure time from Shawano is 4:39 PM. The west and north bound Flambeau is due here at 5:39 but was held up in Pulaski for 4 hours while the wreckage was cleared away. A section crew was called to repair the damaged road bed. A wrecker came from Green Bay to return the derailed wheels to the track and escort the train into Green Bay. County traffic Officer Victor Hellestad and county coroner Harvey Stubenvoll investigated the accident. They noted that a corn field on the left hand side as Ahlgrimm approached the tracks might have obstructed his vision but the cleared section of the right-of-way seemed quite wide. Ahlgrimm's body was taken to the Freimuth Funeral Home in Bonduel.
No arrangements have been made for the funeral. The accident was the 15th
in the county for the year of 1946.
SHAWANO EVENING LEADER Wednesday, Aug. 14, 1946 AHLGRIMM SERVICE WILL BE THURSDAY Funeral services for Clarence Ahlgrimm, town of Pella, who was killed
instantly Monday evening when his car was struck by a train on an Angelica
town road crossing near Zachow, will be held Thursday afternoon, Aug. 15
at 1130 in the Freimuth Funeral Home at Bonduel. Interment will be in the
Bethlehem Lutheran church cemetery, Pella. Mr. Ahlgrimm who was born in
the town of Pella in 1901 spent most of his life there. The past 6 months
he had been employed as a cheese maker for Graf's Creamery at Zachow. Survivors
are one brother, Paul, town of Pella, and one sister, Mrs. Henry Brei.
A sister, Clara, (Mrs. Fred Klitz) of Pella died about a month ago and
a half brother, William Ahlgrimm, was killed last fall in an automobile
collision near Shawano. Another sister and brother also preceded him in
death.
SHAWANO EVENING LEADER Friday, Aug. 16, 1946 BARFKNECHT SERVICE WILL BE MONDAY Funeral services for Mrs. William Barfknecht, who died this morning about 8100 at the home of her son, Robert in the town of Richmond, will be held Monday afternoon, Aug. 19 at 2:00 in the St James Lutheran church, Town of Richmond. Mrs. Barfknecht, born May 2, 1869 in Germany, came to America with her parents at the age of 10 and settled in Belle Plaine. She was the former Alvina Teetzen and married William Barfknecht on June 16, 1881. He died about 24 years ago, and she has made her home with her son, Robert since that time. Survivors are 4 daughters, Martha (Mrs. Charles Hoernke) town of
Herman, Anna (Mrs. Blaine Page) Shawano, Emma (Mrs. George Seidelman) Waukechon
and Lillie (Mrs. Dave Heling) town of Richmond, one son, Robert, town of
Richmond, 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 1 sister, Mrs. William
Krueger, town of Belle Plaine.
SHAWANO EVENING LEADER Thursday, Nov. 7, 1946 Funeral services for Emma Nordwig, 64, who died at 11:30 Tuesday evening, Nov. 5, in the town of Belle Plaine, will be held Friday afternoon, Nov. 8, at Tilleda. Burial will be In the Tilleda cemetery. Mrs. Nordwig the former Emma Steinke, was born January 8, 1882 in Germany and at the age of 8 came to the United States settling in Pella. Her home is in the town of Seneca. Survivors are her husband, four sisters, Mrs. Louise Heldt, Wittenberg;
Mrs. Minnie Fritz, New London; Mrs. Annie Diestler, Wittenberg; and Mrs.
Marie Albright of Copenia, also a brother August Steinke of Milwaukee,
