SHAWANO COUNTY ADVOCATE-DISPATCH
Thursday, March 13, 1902 (LEOPOLIS) It is the writer's sad duty to chronicle the demise of Augustina
Nordwig, widow of Wm. Nordwig, Sr. who departed this life March 5th,
at the residence of her son, William Jr. Thus, one by one the old pioneers,
who paved the way for this generation, are leaving us. Deceased was 66
years of age and is survived by four sons, Herman, Otto, Gustav and William,
Jr., and one daughter, Mrs. Emma Hohn. The regard in which deceased was
held was attested by the large funeral cortege that followed the remains
to their last resting place. Services were held from the Methodist church
of Seneca, Pastor Weining officiating.
SHAWANO COUNTY ADVOCATE-DISPATCH Thursday, Aug. 7, 1902 It is the writer's sad duty to chronicle the demise of Mrs. Johanna
Maas, wife of August Maas, Sr., who died July 31st aged 71 years. Deceased
has been a great sufferer for some time past, until death relieved her,
and was noted for her many Christian qualities. The funeral services were
held from the Ev. Lutheran church of Seneca on Sunday and the remains were
followed to their last resting place by a large concourse of relatives
and friends.
SHAWANO COUNTY ADVOCATE DISPATCH Thursday, Nov. 6, 1902 Mrs. William Brodhagen, (nee Henrietta Grunewald) of Belle Plaine,
who underwent an operation at Oshkosh a short time ago, died two days later.
The remains were brought home for burial, the funeral taking place last
Tuesday. Mrs. Brodhagen was 72 years of age and leaves three sons and two
daughters.
