What is VTDATA?

This list is the place for you to share your original Vermont source material... wills, deeds, bible records, tax lists, cemetery files, pension applications, obituaries, old letters, marriage lists, etc... with other Vermont researchers.

Please note that queries are not allowed


How to Subscribe

You can join in either mail mode or digest mode. To Subscribe you need to send an Email with either the word SUBSCRIBE as the only word in the body of the message, and leave subject line of the message blank. Do not put anything else, including your name, and if you have a signature file, please turn it off.

How to submit your information

To post your information to the list, send an email to: VTDATA-L@rootsweb.com

Please follow these guidelines when submitting your information in order for readers to quickly know if it is something they might be interested in reading or want to delete:

In the subject line put:

TYPE OF FILE: Surname, date, county

For instance if your file concerns one individual or surname:

OBIT: Smith, 1903, Orange Co
WILL: Jones, 1878, Addison Co
CENSUS: Brown, 1860-1870, Bennington Co

If your information is a complete list of all available records:

TAX LIST: 1808, Orange Co

If your information is too large for a single email please submit it showing part numbers:

CEM: Champlain Cemetery Chittenden CO, part 1 ( part 2 or # 1 # 2, etc)

MARR: Franklin Co, 1860-1880, A's (etc)

If you are unsure of what to use for your subject send me an email
