It has
overhanging eves and louvered ventilators to keep the milk cool. In antebellum times,
diary houses were a measure of affluence.

by William Harwood. It was a Confederate Hospital during the 1862 Peninsular Campaign.

Lee Hall
An Italianate plantation
dwelling completed by 1859 for Richard Decatur Lee. Generals Macgruder and Johnston used
it as headquarters during the Peninsula Campaign in the Civil War.
