Mary Saunders writes "Halifax Street consisted of two blocks with Bloom Brothers, First National Bank, Leath's Drug Store and Watkins Ford on different corners on the same side of the street. Across from the court house was the Emporia Building & Loan, Gene's 5 & 10 Cent Store, Leggett, etc...."
