Dr. Martin L. Dalton's Hospital & Residence Located on Route 8 across from School House Fabrics in Floyd, Virginia. He
was born near Hillsville in Carroll County, but moved to Floyd to practice medicine. His
residence is no longer standing, but the hospital (the building on the left) is and will
be the home of the Floyd County Historical Society and Museum.

Captain Daniel Shelor Furnace Memorial This furnace is standing on the site of Daniel Shelor's original furnace. It is over
100 years and the oldest structure built by man that still stands in this area. Daniel Shelor
(1740-1830) was a Captain in the Revolutionary War.
