Millboro tunnel the old C&O tunnel
at Millboro in Bath County. Constructed around 1860 and one of many through the mountains
in this area. Millboro was a major railhead during the mid 1800's with hotels, stores,
stockyard, and warehouses. Amtrak and CSX freight trains still use these tracks.

Springs, originally a turn-of-the-century farmhouse transformed by Thomas Fortune Ryan in
1922.

Three Hills Mary Johnston, a
succesful novelist, purchased 40 acres in 1911. Designed by J. Ambler Johnston of Carneal
and Johnston firm, a distant relative of Mary. Moved into her estate in 1913, and died in
1938.
