New Salem Cemetery

This cemetery is located in the southwest quadrant of Milam Co. To get to this active cemetery from Cameron, take State Hwy 36 south about 3-miles to the “Y” and continue about 15-miles on US Hwy 77 to Rockdale. About a mile after the overpass at US Hwy 79, turn left onto CR 322 and go about 200-yards and the cemetery will appear on the right. There is no fence but there is an iron arch entrance with the cemetery’s name. The cemetery has high grass and underbrush. The older areas are very hard to get to and those gravemarkers that are covered over in underbrush.
