In the early 1950's Laurel Land Corporation purchased the area surrounding the Bennett Family Cemetery. It was to be named Bennett Memorial Park; and so it was for about two years. The name was then changed to Laurel Oaks Cemetery with the original Bennett section named Bennett Memorial Gardens. [Lynell Bennett Moss]
