Gary D. Smith worked for a number of years on a family history of the Latshaw family called the "Latshaw Family Journal." The book begins in 1601 with the Swiss Mennonite family of Hans Lotscher and continues through about 1901, a 300 year history of the family. The book includes branches of the family in Germany, France, The Netherlands, Canada and the United States.

The book contains several thousand Latshaw descendants, is indexed, and has a Bibliography.
