Herbert L. LaDeaux
Died  February 20, 1980

	Herbert L. LaDeaux, 64, of Newport Acres, Newport, 
Ohio., died last Wednesday in Marietta Memorial Hospital.
	He was born November 30, 1915 at Newark to Leo and Anna 
Lemon LaDeaux.  He had been employed as a salesman and later 
as a buyer for the Crescent Supply Co.  He was a member of 
the Evangelical United Brethren Church.  Mr. and Mrs. 
LaDeaux had lived in Reno before moving to Newport in 1975.  
He was a mmeber of the United Commercial Travelers.
	On Dec. 23, 1939, he married Thelma Starcher, who 
survives with a son Charles L. of Chester; a daughter, Mrs. 
Norman ( Linda) Dowler of Denton, Tx., four grandchildren; 
and a sister, Mrs. Kahle (Edith) Vincent of Columbus, Ohio.
	Services were held Saturday at the McClure-Schafer 
Funeral Home with the Rev. David Gilbert officiating.  
Burial was in Newport Cemetery.

Died  February 17, 1973

	William Ladley, 58, of 137 Princeton Avenue, Hubbard, 
O., died of a kidney ailment Wednesday in North Side 
Hospital, Youngstown, O.
	Born March 24, 1914, in Pittsburgh, the son of Robert 
and Nellie Williamson Ladley, he went to Hubbard, O., 22 
years ago from St. Marys.
	He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of 
Hubbard, supervisor for Republic Steel for 22 years, a 
former vice-president of Republic Supervisor's Club and a 
member of MVIMA.
	Prior to his move to Hubbard, he resided in St. Marys 
for a number of years, while associated in business with his 
brothers-in-law, Harold and the late William Spencer, in the 
City News Agency.  He was well known for his performance in 
the Jaycee Minstrel shows.
	He is survived by his wife, the former Miriam Spencer; 
a daughter, Mrs. Nancy Praznik of Hubbard, a son, Kenneth 
Ladley of Girard; a brother, David Ladley of Fayetteville, 
N.C.; two sisters, Mrs. Leo Campbell and Mrs. William 
McConnell , both of Pittsburgh; eight grandchildren and 
several nieces and nephews.

Goldie LaFaber
Died  August 14, 1992

	Goldie LaFaber, 91, of Friendship Village, Dublin, Ohio 
formerly of Marietta, died Aug. 14, 1992 at Riverside 
Methodist Hospital, Columbus.
	She was born in St. Marys, a daughter of the late 
Samuel H. and Earnestine Lamp Weiford.  She was a graduate 
of St. Marys High School.  She had nurses training at the 
former Marietta Hospital.  She was involved with the Red 
Cross, Girl Scouts and first aid.  She was president of the 
Republican Women's Club of Washington County.  She was a 
knitting instructor for Turner Ebinger Co. and the S.S. 
Kresge Co., and she taught knitting class at the Betsey 
Mills Club.  She was a clerk in the city auditor's office 
until her retirement in 1968.  She was a 71 year member of 
the Order of the Eastern Star, St. Marys, a member of the 
Women's Auxiliary, American Legion Post 64, Marietta, and a 
member of Hathor Court Ladies Oriental Shrine of Nemesis 
Temple, Parkersburg.  She was a member of the First 
Congregational Church, Marietta.
	Surviving are her husband, Norman LaFaber; two 
daughters, Linda Meyer of Hiliard, Ohio and Norma Mansfield 
of Fort Wayne, Ind., four grandchildren; and three great-
grandchildren.
	She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ethel Young 
and Sylvia Kehl.
	Services 11 am Tuesday, Hadley Funeral Home, Marietta, 
the Rev. Dale parson officiating.  Burial Mound Cemetery, 
Marietta.

Died  October 26, 1983

	Nettie DeLong LaFaber, 77, of 130 Oakwood Ave,. 
Marietta, died Wednesday in Marietta Memorial Hospital.
	She was born October 14, 1906, in Belmont to Friend and 
Bessie Hawkins DeLong.  She had lived all her married life 
in Marietta.
	She was a member of the Norwood United Methodist 
Church, the Sayre Bible Class, the United Methodist women, 
the Rebekah circle and the Alpha Chapter of the OCCL.
	She was married June 11, 1927, to Harry F. LaFaber, who 
precede her in death.
	She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Adrian (June) 
Bogard of Marietta; three grandchildren and two great-
grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by two brothers, 
Neil and Richard DeLong.
	Services were Friday in the McClure-Schafer Funeral 
Home with the Rev. Thomas Cook officiating.  Burial was in 
Willow Island Cemetery.

	Alda G. Laidley, 92, of St. Marys, died Thursday at 
Care Haven of Pleasants.
	Laidley was a lifelong member of the Order of Eastern 
Star, a graduate of the University of Michigan and taught 
school for many years.
	She was born in Pleasants County, a daughter of the 
late Wesley and Mattie Gorrell Givens.  She is survived by a 
sister, Lila O. Givens of Tucson, Ariz.; five stepdaughters, 
Blanche Haught of Mooresville, Ind., Opal Brammer of 
Wooster, Ohio, Beulah Luster of Oklahoma City, Okla., Helen 
Fleming of Gibsonia, Pa., and Virginia Matthews of Belmont.
	She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert 
Ong; second husband, Homer Laidley; three stepchildren, two 
sisters and two brothers.
	Burial arrangements will be carried out in Shepherd, 
Mich.
	Ruttencutter Funeral Home was in charge of local 
arrangements.

	Nell Laidley, 77, of Smithville Western Care Center, 
died Monday morning, April 23.
	She was born in 1912 in St. Marys to Fred and Cora 
Curtis Kelly and married Gerald Laidley in 1932.  He died 
April 6, 1978.
	She lived in the Wooster area for 30 years and was 
employed at the                   H. Freedlander Co., 
retiring in 1960.
	She was a member of the Church of the Cross United 
Methodist in Madisonburg and the Order of Eastern Star 137 
in Lodi.
	Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Patricia) 
Crebs of West Salem and Mrs. William (Connie) Curren of 
Wooster; nine grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
	In addition to her husband, a brother and three sisters 
preceded her in death.
	Services were held at the McIntire, Davis & Green 
Funeral Home with the Rev. Clarence Neth officiating.  
Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Lodi.

	He was born in Danville, Pa, son of the late Wilson and 
Margaret Lamberson.  He was retired from American Cyanamid 
Co. in 1873.
	He is survived by his wife, Icie White Lamberson; one 
daughter, Joann Fortun of Lantana, Fl, one sister, Mary 
Linker of Danville, Pa, five grandchildren and three great-
grandchildren.  
	Memorial services were held Wednesday at Lee Memorial 
Park, Lehigh Acres, Fl.

	Edna Lambert, 97, of Ellenboro, died April 30 at 
Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg, Va.
	She was born in Hebron, a daughter of the late Benjamin 
T. and Mary Elizabeth Dolly Bumgardner Gorrell.  She was a 
homemaker and a member of Wesley United Methodist Church of 
Ellenboro for the post 79 years.
	Surviving are two daughters, Constance L. Whitmore of 
Harrisonburg and Clarice L. Troisi of Brooklyn, NY; three 
grandsons, Paul L. Whitmore of Birmingham,  Ala, Joseph 
Troisi, Jr of St. Marys,  and Ralph Troisi of Waverly; four 
granddaughters, Geranina Troisi-Torres of Vienna, Kathryn 
Sutphin of Winchester, Va.,  Gloria Larkin of Fairfield, 
Conn., and Mary Elizabeth Troisi of Jamaica Plains, Mass.; 
and 15 great-grandchildren.
	She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry P. 
Lambert; one daughter, Wilma Lambert; three brothers, 
Benjamin Gorrell, Homer Gorrell and Bernard Gorrell; one 
sister, Ethel Kibbee Simonton; and one grandson Garland D. 
"Skop" Whitmore, who was killed in Vietnam in 1967.
	Services were Saturday in McCullough-Rogers Funeral 
Home in Pennsboro with Paul L. Whitmore and Joseph Troisi, 
Jr. officiating.  Burial in the Ellenboro Cemetery.

was a member of the Church of Christ, Massilon, Ohio.
	She is survived by her husband, James Lambert, Jr; a

Louanna McGraw and Deloris Turner, both of Beech County, 
Ohio, Carole Groah of Mount Eaton, Ohio, Janet Thompson of

brothers, Blaine Riggs and Glen Riggs, both of Pennsboro; a 
sister, Betty Helms of Pennsboro, 12 grandchildren and three

	Ruby M. Lamm, 90, of Pennsboro, died in Parkersburg's 
Parkview Health Care Center Thursday.
	She was born in Pleasants County, daughter of the late 
Irvin and Nancy Smith Hammond.  She was a member of the 
Beason United Methodist Church in Ritchie County, Beason 
Rainbow Grange No. 527 and the Colin Anderson Center 
grandparent program.
	She is survived by a son, Blaine Lamm of Rt. 1, 
Pennsboro, two daughters, Evelyn Dodd and Irene Ross of Rt. 
1, Pennsboro; two brothers, Ralph Hammond of Pennsboro and 
Carl Hammond of Oceana; a sister, Monica Smith of Pennsboro; 
8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren adn 2 great-great-
grandchildren.
	She was preceded in death by her husband, Clay Lamm.
	The funeral was held at 2:00 pm Sunday at the

Laveria Lowther, both of St. Marys; one son, Herman Harold 
lamp, Jr. of St. Marys; one granddaughter, Abigail D. Lamp 
of St. Marys; one grandson, Herman Harold Lamp of St. Marys; 
one foster grandson, Mickey J. Finn of St. marys; and 
several nieces and nephews.
	She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Harold 
Lamp; six brothers and five sisters.

Dewey Ave Church of Christ and was a veteran of World War 
II.
	He is survived by three sons, Michael Lamp of Florida, 
Rodney and Tim Lamp, both of St. marys; two brothers, Burton 
Lamp of Madison, Tenn., and Clyde Lamp of St. Marys; one 
sister, Kathleen Horner of St. Marys; and six grandchildren.
	Graveside services were held at 1:00 pm Tuesday at the 
IOOF Cemetery in St. Marys, with Evang. William Renner 
officiating.  The Ruttencutter Funeral Home in St. Marys was

Stevens Lamp and had served in the US Army and had been 
employed by General Electric.
	He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Vollentine Lamp; two 
daughters, Mary Lynn Lamp and Patricia Smith both of Erie, 
Pa; three sons, Curtis E. Lamp, Jr and Daniel Lamp both of 
Erie, Pa., and Brian Lamp of Newport; one brother, Alvin 
Lamp of New Matamoras; one sister, Deloris Jean Miller of 
Erie, Pa; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
	In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 
one brother, Dewey Lee Lamp.

in St. Marys with the Rev. Michael A. Gates officiating.

County, a daughter of the late James Madison and Sarah Anna 
Cooper Northcraft.  She had been a member of the Church of 
Christ.

Lake Wales, Fla., four grandchildren, Judy Strassenburg of 
Wheaton, Illinois., Karen Doyle of Bolingbrook, Illinois, 
Jerry Bennett of Roselle, Illinois, and Robert Bennet of 
Villa Park, Illinois; one great-granddaughter, Michelle 
Bennett of Roselle, Illinois and several nieces adn nephews.
	She was preceded in death by her husband Brian Clemens

	George Clyde Lamp, 69, of Friendly, died January 16, at 
Ohio Valley Medical Center Wheeling.
	He was born in St. Marys to the late MArshall coleman 
and Bertha Pearl Miracle Lamp.  He was a US Army veteran of 
World War II and was a retired boilermaker for Local 667.  
He was a member of St. Marys Elks Lodge 1701 and Veterans of 
Foreign Wars Post 6327 in Sistersville.
	Surviving are three daughters, Georgina West of St. 
Marys, Vivian Dotson of Belmont and Sonia Parks of Friendly; 
one son Marshall Lamp of St. Marys; one brother Burton Lamp 
of Madison, Tenn., seven grandchildren; and four great-
grandchildren.
	He was preceded in death by one sister, Kathleen 
Horner; and one brother, Eugene Lamp.
	Services were Tuesday at Ruttencutter Funeral Home in 
St. marys.  Burial was in St. Marys IOOF Cemetery with 
military graveside service conducted by VFW Post 6327.

Butcher of St. Marys and the late Eugene Lamp.  He was at 
the time of his death the Exalted Ruler of the Elks Lodge 
No. 231 in Steubenville and the treasurer of the G.K. L.  
Wildlife Sportsmen Club of Mingo Junction.  He was employed 
in the tractor repair department of Wheeling-Pittsburgh 
Steel's Mingo Junction plant.  He was a Protestant by faith.
	He is survived by his wife, Joan Whaley Lamp; two sons, 
David Lamp and Michael Lamp, both of East Liverpool, Ohio; 
four daughters, Janice Moore of Empire, Ohio, and Karen 
Hatfield, Debra Dray and Sheila Lamp, all of Mingo

Williamson; and five sisters, Winnie Forrest, Pearl Clift, 
Jane Matheny, Fernie Ludington and Berth Williamson.

Marys.  He was a former Harrison County deputy sheriff, a 
one-term member of the West Virginia House of Delegates, and 
a Pleasants County Commisioner for six years.  He was a 50 
year member of St. Marys Lodge 41 AF&AM and was a member of 
St. Marys United Methodist Church.
	He was born in Harrison County, a son of the late James 
E. and Daisy Webb Lanham.
	He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ruth Hustead 
Lanham; two sons, J. Wayne Lanham of State College, Pa and 
John Mark Lanham of St. Marys; one daughter, Cindy Chandler 
of Rouse, Australia; one brother, Ross Lanham of Bristol; 
and six grandchildren.

Alderson, WV, one daughter, Jean Simmons of Virginia Beach, 
Va; two sisters, Evelyn Hardesty and Nolia Wilson, both of 
Parkersburg.
	She was preceded in death by three brothers.

Emblem Club and with the White Shrine.
	Survivors in addition to her parents include one son, 
Charles, Sistersville; one sister, Mrs. Doris Brammer, St. 
Marys; one brother, Kenneth Matheny, Rt. 1, St. Marys; two 
granchildren, Jon and Catherine LaRue, Sistersville; and 
several nieces and nephews.
	She was preceded in death by her husband, Charley 
LaRue.
	Funeral services were conducted Monday at 10:30 am at 
the Ruttencutter Funeral Home, St. Marys, by the Rev. Robert 
H. Morgan.  Burial will follow in the St. Marys IOOF

Army veteran of World War II, a member of American Legion 
Post 159,  Williamstown, and was a Protestant by faith.

	He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary Bernadine 
Wise Lauderman; two brothers, Ray Lauderman of Paden City

Supervisor, West Virginia Department of Highways.  He was a 
member of Willow Island Baptist Church and served with the

	He was a member of Local 667 Boiler Makers and a member 
of the Willow Island Singers.
	He is also survived by his wife, Ruth Rogers Lauderman; 
one son, John L. Lauderman, Jr., of St. Marys; two 
daughters, Deborah Ellen Lauderman and Carla Jayne Allender, 
both of St. Marys and two grandchildren, Christopher Andrew 
Lauderman and Stacy Virginia Allender.

technician.  Prior to that , she had worked at American

Wesley United Methodist Church in Vienna.
	She is survived by one daughter-in-law, Ruth E. 
Lauderman of St. Marys; three grandchildren, John L. 
lauderman, Jr. of Waverly, deborah E. Crowe of St. marys and 
Carla J. Henrie of Williamstown, eight great-grandchildren; 
four sisters, Annabelle Wells of Summit, Lena Sayre of 
Akron, Opal Fleek of Washington and Grace A. Koon of 
Parkersburg; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
	She was preceded in death by her parents, Emmett Wise 
and Bessie J. Wright Kirkpatrick; her husband of 55 years, 
Fred Lauderman; one son, John L. Lauderman, Sr.; two 
sisters, Mabel Starcher and Daisy Radabaugh; and her 
stepfather, John Wright, who raised her.

	Walter Daniel Lauer, 83, Newport, Rt. 1, died Thursday, 
Jan 11, in St. Joseph's Hospital, Parkersburg.
	He was born Aug. 25, 1890 at Cow Run, Washington 
County, a son of the late Christian and Phoebe Weinstock 
Lauer.  On Sept. 25, 1914, he married Anna Wentzel, who 
survives with five sons and one daughter:  Homer, Harold, 
Walter Gale, and Calvin Lauer all of Newport, Noble Lauer, 
Matamoras Rt., and Mrs. Russell (Mary) Dye, Marietta.  There 
are 16 grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, one great 
grandson, and  three step-great granddaughters.  One brother 
and one sister survive, Edward Lauer, Goodyear, Ariz., and 
Mrs. Emma Gearhart, Marietta.  He was preceded in death by 
one brother, Fred Lauer, one grandchild, and one step-
grandchild.
	Mr. Lauer had spent all of his life in Washington 
County and had been an oil field worker.  He was a member of 
Beech Grove United Methodist Church, Little Muskingum Grange 
No. 2621 and Ohio State Grange.
	Funeral services were held Sunday in Doudna and McClure 
Funeral Home with the Rev. Percy Pringle officiating.  
Burial was in East Lawn Memorial Park.

at her request her body was donated in medical science.

Parkersburg.
	Miss Laughlin was a daughter of the late Lorenzo D. and 
Edna K. Laughlin.  She earned a bachelor's degree at 
Marietta College and a master's at Ohio University.  She 
taught Latin at Parkersburg High School from 1951 until her 
retirement in 1973.  She was a former St. Marys teacher.
	She was past state president of Delta Kappa Gamma 
Society,past president of the Delta Chapter of Delta Kappa 
Gamma of Parkersburg, member of the American Association of 
University Women, past president of the Business and 
Professional Women of Parkersburg, past state president of 
the Federation of Business and Professional Women; past 
regent of the James Wood Chapter, National Society of the 
Daughters of the American Revolution; past president and 
honorary member of the West Augusta Historical Society; past 
president of the West Virginia Historical Society and past 
president of the General Daughters of the American Pioneers.
	In addition to her years of public school teaching, 
Miss Laughlin taught at Mountain State Business College, 
Marietta College, Parkersburg Community College, and DeSales 
Heights Academy.
	She is survivied by several cousins including Mrs. Bert 
F. Roney, Dexter Buckley and Mrs. Pauline M. Jones, all of 
Parkersburg, Mrs. Lorraine Neal of Vienna and Mrs. Alice 
White of Little Hocking, Ohio.
	Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer 
Society.

	Zenobia Lawson, 70, of 6215 Bridge St., Ravenna, Ohio, 
died July 5 at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna, where 
she had been a patient for two days after a long illness.
	Mrs. Lawson was born Aug. 31, 1915, in Pennsboro, 
daughter of the late Elias P. and Minnie Cottrill Hickman.  
She had lived in Ravenna since 1941.
	Survivors include her daughter, Norma J., at home, a 
sister Mrs. William (Norienne) Barnhart of St. Marys; and 
three half-brothers, James P. Powell, Pryse Powell and 
Franklin Powell, all of St. Marys.
	She was preceded in death by her husband, Rupert D. 
Lawson, in 1985, a daughter Vera; a brother, DeVere Hickman; 
and a half-brother, Benjamin Powell.
	Funeral services were held July 8 at Shorts Funeral 
Home in Ravenna. The Rev. Jay H. Keiser officiated, and  
burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery in Ravenna.

Lowther of Glendale and Marjorie Jackson of Canton; one 
brother, Harvey Williamson of Canton, 26 grandchildren; 36 
great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren and nine step-
great-grandchildren.
	She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Raymond 
Layfield; four brothers, one sister, and four grandchildren.
	Services were at the House of the Living Word in Cairo

grandparent for Colin Anderson Center of St. Marys, and a

	Surviving are his wife, Kathleen Ryan Layfield; two 
sons, David S. Layfield of Dover, Ohio, and George W. 
Layfield of Rt. 1, Cairo; one daughter, Phyllis Marie 
DeLancey of Rt. 1, Pennsboro; one stepson, Bill Bollinger of 
Massillon, Ohio; one brother, Walter Layfield of 
Harrisville; nine grandchildren and five great-
grandchildren.
	He was preceded in death by two brothers.
	Services were held at 1:00 pm Wednesday at the 
Pennsboro Church of Christ, with Evangelist Douglas A. Petty 
officiating.  Interment was in the Masonic Cemetery in 
Ellenboro.

of Elizabeth and Roy Dice (Beard) Layfield of Cairo; two 
daughters, Carolyn Boston of Petroleum and Lucille Williams 
of Harrisville; three brothers, C.O. (Pete) Layfield of 
Petroleum, Lawrence (Fuzzy) Layfield of Belmont, and Robert 
Layfield of Niceville, Fl; three sisters, Pearl Stephens of 
Harrisville, Freda Kerns of Route 2, Walkers and Christine 
Hickman of East Fultonham, Ohio; 13 grandchildren and seven 
great-grandchildren.
	He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred L. Kerns

the First United Methodist Church, was a salesman for Metal 
Lab Equipment Co.  He was a veteran of World War II, having 
served in the US Navy, was a member of Post 64, The American 
Legion of Marietta.  He was a graduate of Marietta College, 
was an area musician and had played with Hocking-Smith band.
	Surviving are his wife, Eleanor J. Bergen Layne; three 
sons, Craig R. Layne, of Parkersburg, Joseph S. Layne of 
Memphis, Tenn, and Bruce C. Layne of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; two 
daughters, Susan Pitts of St. Marys, and Mary Heflin of 
Reynoldsburg, Ohio; seven grandchildren and one great-
grandchild.
	He was preceded in death by one brother, Frank Layne.
	Services were held Wednesday, at the Ogdin Funeral Home

Sheet Metal and the Salt Lake City , Utah, Local 312.
	He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Clella Mae 
Larue Leach; one daughter, Sandra Bumgarner of Fresno, 
Calif; two grandchildren, Sgt. William Michael Waddle of 
Randolph Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas, and Lisa Ann 
Waddle of Renton, Washington; and two sisters, Lyda Taylor 
and Wanda Leach, both of Cape Coral, Fla.
	He was preceded in death by two brothers.
	The funeral will be at 11 am Thursday at the Vaughan 
Funeral Home, Dr. Arthur G. Backus officiating, with burial

He also served in the US Army.
	In addition to his parents, he is survived by two 
brothers, Kenneth and Greg Leasure both of Caldwell; one 
sister, Mrs. Charles D. (Beth) Longwell of Woodsfield; two 
half sisters, Shelly and Nancy Leasure, both of Fly; 
maternal grandmother Amanda Farnsworth of Mount Vernon; 
three nephews and two nieces.
	Services were held Sunday at the Watters Funeral Home 
in Woodsfield with the Rev. Frank Conley officiating.

Adams of Waterford, Ohio, and two nephews, Bill Fleming and

	She was preceded in death by one sister, Ola Willamson, 
and two brothers, Forest and Arch Fleming.
	A memorial service will be held at a later date at the 
convenience of the family.  Burial was in the St. Marys IOOF

Leisure, both of Vienna, Michael R. Leisure of Parkersburg, 
Ronald L. Leisure of Williamstown; two daughters, Dorothy A. 
Harris and Marcia L. Snider, both of Waverly; 15 
grandchildren; four brothers, Denver A. Mace of Tallmadge, 
Ohio, Woodrow G. Mace of Boaz, Clyde L. Mace of Waverly, 
Conrad A. Mace of New Matamoras; three sisters, Katherine 
Barker of Barberton, Ohio, Genevieve P. Wright of Waverly,

	She was preceded in death by one brother and two

brother, Floyd D. Hearn of Reno Star Rt.
	She was preceded in death by her husband, James N.

Della Underwood.  She had been the owner and proprietor of

Club, American Legion Auxiliary, Paden City Woman's Club, 
the Order of the Eastern Star and White Shrine.
	She is survived by two brothers, Cecil and Clinton of

Chole Ferrell of Sistersville.
	Services will be Saturday at 1 pm at Cooper Funeral 
Home in Sistersville with the Rev. C. Brent Ford

Lemasters Grocery in Paden City for over 50 years.  He was a 
World War I veteran and life member of the Paden City 
American Legion.
	He is survived by his wife Lillie Underwood Lemasters

	The funeral was held Tuesday at Mowery-Trowbridge

Mrs. Jessie F. Lemley, 78, of Deltona, Fla, following a 
stroke.

daughter of the late Buckner jay and Mollie Rogers Fortney.
	Prior to her retirement in 1963, she resided in 
Morgantown and was the assistant state home demonstration 
agent.  She had previously served as home demonstration 
agent in Tyler County and agent-at-large in Pleasants and 
Ritchie Counties.  She was a member of the Morgantown 
Baptist Church and a graduate of West Virginia University.
	She was preceeded in death by her husband, Howard 
Lemley, and one sister.
	Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Blanche F. Bishoff 
of Deltona, Fla., and Mrs. Emily Purinton of Gainesville, 
Fla., one brother, Burton Jay Fortney of Augusta, Ga.; a 
half-sister, Mrs. Carrie Shrier of Fairmont; and several 
nieces and nephews.

doll collector.  She was very active with the USO in 
Greensboro.

Harold W. "Bill" Sierer, II of Enola, Pa; four daughters, 
Aleta A. Gilmore of Plainfield, Pa., Sharon L. Lebo of 
Ocala, Fla., Barbara J. Weiss of Mariaville, Maine, and 
Robin A Bailey of St. Marys; a brother (next two lines are

	In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death

Feb 21 1857 and died at his home near Calcutta April 15,

Bristol, R.I. and four grand-children.  She was preceded in

	Mrs. Lippincott was married to James Lippincott, 
deceased and was a member of the Wick Methodist church.
	Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Russell 
Bennett, Weirton, Mrs. Arnold Sees, St. Marys, and Mrs. 
Cloyd Duty, Staffordville, Ky; a son, Carl E. McHenry, St. 
Marys.  All of the children are by a former marriage.  Other 
survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Flossie Grandon, St. 
Marys, and Mrs. Estlene Beagle, New Matamoras, Ohio,  two 
brothers, Russell Pyle, Meadville, and Arlie Pyle, 
Centerville.
	She was preceded in death by a son and both husbands.
	Funeral services will be held at 2 pm, Tuesday, at the 
Wick Methodist Church.  The Rev. Marvin Miller will 
officiate and burial will be in Wick Cemetery.
	Friends may call at the Ruttencutter Mortuary, St. 
Marys, until noon Tuesday, when the body will be taken to 
the church to lie in state.

	William J. "Joe" Lipps, 71 of Vincent , Ohio, died 
Saturday morning at his home.
	He was born in Braxton County to the late Homer Joseph 
and Alice Mae Blake Lipps.  He spent his early life in 
Braxton county before moving to Little Hocking, Ohio.  He 
had lived in Vincent for 32 years.  He was a member of the 
Decatur Chapel Church, the Decatur Chapel Jolly Seniors, and 
the Old Timers club of Union Carbide.  He had been a 
chemical operator at Union Carbide until his retirement in 
1978.  He was a veteran of World War II.
	He is survived by his wife, Ellen Birch Lipps; two 
sons, Gale Lipps and Terry Lipps, both of Vincent; three 
daughters, Maxine Feather of Keighley, England, Pamela Enlow 
of Newport, and Rebecca Riggins of Little Hocking;  10 
grandchildren; four brothers, Earl "Buck" Ratliff of 
Marietta,  Harry Lipps of Belpre, Carl Lipps of Vienna, and 
Lawrence Lipps of Little Hocking; and three sisters, Mary 
Frame and Maxine King, both of Belpre, and Barbara Eddy of 
Little Hocking.  He was preceded in death by one son, Dale 
Lipps, one grandson, two brothers and three sisters.
	Services were Tuesday at Decatur Chapel Church with 
pastor Charles Nation officiating.  Burial was in Rockland 
Cemetery.

	Alice May Little, 89, of New Cumberland, WV, died 
February 13, at Weirton Medical Center following a brief 
illness.
	She was born Aug. 1, 1906 in St. Marys, a daughter of 
the late Jefferson and Elizabeth Wilson Cox.  She was a 
Protestant.
	Her husband, Rollie V. Little died in 1973.  She was 
also preceded in death by three brothers, Lyle Cox, Rosemond 
Cox and Omie Cox; and three sisters, Elva Scott, Twila 
Isekeit and Kathryn Higgins.
	She is survived by three sons, Bernard Little and 
Delbert Little of New Cumberland and Kenneth Little of East 
Liverpool; a sister, Mrs. Bernard (June) Sauers of St. 
Marys; eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a 
great-great grandchild.
	The Rev. Charles E. Andrews of Nessly Chapel conducted 
services Friday at the Turley Funeral Home.  Burial was in 
the chapel Hill Memorial Gardens of Weirton.

	He was born in Tyler County, son of the late Charles 
and Mary Hays Livingston.  He was a member of Pleasants 
Baptist Church in Belmont, a World War II veteran, a retired 
carpenter, member of Phoenix Masonic Lodge No. 73 in 
Sistersville, American Legion in Paden City and Sistersville 
VFW.
	He is survived by his wife, Frankie Hiley Livingston; 
three daughters, Lois Eddy of St. Marys, Mary Burgess of 
Parkersburg, and Sheila Hickman of Newport, Ohio; two 
sisters, Jane Neely of Sistersville and Eleanor Haught of 
Parkersburg; and four grandchildren.
	The funeral was held at 1:00 pm Saturday at Eckels 
Funeral Home in Sistersville, with the Rev. Ron Branch 
officiating.  Burial was in the Friendly Cemetery, and

	Mrs. Ada V. Locke, 100, of St. Marys, who had lived 
nearly all her live in the Pleasants County area, except for 
the past 18 months as a resident of the Worthington Manor 
Care Center in Parkersburg, died at the Center Wednesday 
afternoon.
	She was born in Pleasants County, daughter of the late 
William G. and Catherine Ingraham, a granddaughter of 
Pleasants county pioneer resident William Outward.  She had 
celebrated her 100th birthday, Nov. 25.  She was active in 
church, cilic and political affairs in Pleasants County 
nearly all of her adult life.  She was a member of the First 
Baptist Church in St. Marys.
	Survivors include a son-in-law, John Theis of 
Huntington, several nephews and nieces.
	She is survived by four nephews,  Atty. Charles E. 
McGinnis, Pittsburgh, Pa; Richard Locke, Charleston; D.W. 
(Jack) Ingraham, Waco, Texas; and Leo Ingraham, Charleston; 
three nieeces, Mrs. Kathryn Boggess, San Antonio, Texas; 
Mrs. Garnett Campbell, Bell Mead, N.J.; and Mrs. Marguerite 
Julian, Los Angeles, Calif.
	She was preceeded in death by her husband, Albert w. 
Locke and a daughter, Ann Virginia Theis.
	The funeral was held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the

until his retirement in 1973.
	Locke was married to Helen MacCauley, who preceded him 
in death in December 1974.  They were parents of three sons, 
Claude E. Jr., Robert and Norman, and grandparents of five 
grandsons, all living in Pittsburgh.
	Other survivors include one brother, Lewis Locke, 
Parkersburg; five sisters, Mrs. Margaret Green, also of 
Parkersburg, Mrs. Ruth Kane, Chicago, Ill,. Mrs. Ora B.

Morris and was born in Pleasants County.  She formerly 
taught school in Pleasants and Tyler Counties and was a 
member of the St. Marys United Methodist Church and United 
Methodist Women.
	She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Keith (Anna Mary) 
Thacker of St. Marys; one son, Allen Locke of Athens, Ohio; 
a daughter-in-law, Jean Locke, also of Athens; six 
grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and several nephews.
	She was preceded in death by her husband, Brady, in 
1963; sisters, Bessie Dearth, Belle Morris, Ida Pearl 
Seckman, and brothers, William, Boyd, and Eliah Morris.
	Funeral services were held at 1:30 pm Wednesday in the 
St. Marys United Methodist Church chapel.  The Rev. Maurice 
Miller and Dr. Richard Crickard officiated.  Burial was in 
the Odd Fellows Cemetery.  The Jagers and Son Funeral Home

Lodge No 22, IOOF; and had served on the Pleasants County 
Board of Education.
	He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Glen (Ruth Ann) 
Sunderman of St. Marys; three sons, William H. Locke of St. 
Marys, R. Core Locke of Brilliant, O,; and Edward J. Locke 
of Marietta, O.; six grandchildren and three great-
grandchildren.
	He was the last surviving member of his immediate 
family and had been preceded in death by his wife, Anna Core

residence.
	He was born October 3, 1919, in St. Marys to the late 
Leslie L. and Edna Oliver Locke.  He was a US Marine Corps 
veteran of World War II having received the Purple Heart.  
He retired from American Cyanamid after 32 years of service.  
He was a member of St. Marys United Methodist Church and 
Veterans of Foreign Wars Post  222.
	He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Tacie Cupp 
Locke; two daughters, Judy McDowell of Dayton, Ohio, and 
Phyllis Warner of Clarksburg; one son, Robert Locke of 
Waverly; five grandchildren, Melissa Collins and Tacie Craig 
both of St. Marys, John Craig and Mary McDowell, both of 
Dayton and Jonathan Lyle Warner of Clarksburg; four great-
grandchildren, Krystal and Katrina Collins of St. Marys and 
Taylor Ann and Kaitlyn Leslie Craig both of Dayton; one 
sister, Joanne Wince of St. Marys, one brother, Lewis Locke 
of St. Marys; two sisters-in-law, Betty Locke and Opal 
Locke, both of St. Marys; and several nieces, nephews, and

	He was preceded in death by five brothers, Claude 
Locke, Denzil Locke, William Locke, Ralph Locke, and Blaine

Antiques in Ellwood City, from 1982-95 and was a retired

graduate of St. Marys High School, a graduate of Marietta 
College and a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity.  He was 
a first class radioman in the US Navy, serving in World War 
II in the Pacific Theatre.
	He is survived by his wife, Beverly Chesko Locke, and 
two brothers, William Locke of St. Marys and Edward J. Locke 
of Marietta; two nieces;and four nephews.
	He was preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Ann 
Sunderman.
	Services were Friday at Samuel Toolis Funeral Home in 
Ellwood City.  Masonic graveside services will be Saturday 
at 1 pm at St. Marys IOOF Cemetery with the St. Marys Lodge

	Mrs. Rose Anne Locke, 73, of 29 North West Street,

been visiting relatives in St. Marys during the weekend when 
she was stricken.
	A lifelong resident of Norwalk, she had been employed 
following graduation from Norwalk High School by Dudley and 
Son Insurance amd Realty Co.  From 1939 until her retirement 
in 1961, she had been an employee of the Bowen Insurance Co. 
of Norwalk.
	She was a member of the Norwalk Baptist 
Church/Independent.
	She is survived by her husband, Ralph O. Locke, whom 
she married October 10, 1938.  Other survivors include a 
daughter, Mrs. Ron (Martha) Lyme of Ashland, Ohio; three 
grandchildren; a brother, Read Gebhardt, Pittsburgh; a 
sister, Mrs Marshall (Grace) Roberts of Independence, Va; 
and two nieces.
	She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and 
Winnie Gebhardt, and by a sister, Gertrude Gebhardt.
	The body was transferred Monday from the Ruttencutter 
Funeral Home in St. Marys to the Kuback/Smith Funeral Home, 
314 Main St, Norwalk, Ohio.  Services were held at the 
Norwalk Baptist Church/Independent, on Wednesday, with the 
Reverend Len Goodwin, pastor, officiating.
	Burial followed in Woodlawn Cemetery, Norwalk.

	St. Marys-- W.D.  "Wink" Locke, 71, of Miles Health 
Care Center, Damariscotta, Maine, died Dec. 15, 1995, at the 
health care center after a heart attack.
	He was born in Hebron, a son of the late Walter and 
Trudia Jones Locke.  He was a US Army veteran of World War 
II and after his discharge he accepted a position with the 
United Telephone Co. in St. Marys working as an engineer.  
He was transferred to Fort Kent, Maine, in 1964 with the 
Continental Telephone Co. becoming state manager of Maine in 
1973.  He continued his position with Contel until retiring 
in 1983 after 37 years.  He was an avid outdoorsman and 
during his retirement enjoyed hunting and fishing.
	Surviving are his wife, Anne Locke, two sons, Walter 
Locke of Charleston and Robert Locke of Hanson, Mass,; one 
daughter, Janice Purslow of Fryeburg, Maine; one stepson, 
Kenneth Flanders of North Reading, Mass.; three 
stepdaughters, Kathryn Kelsey of Gray, Maine, Michele Brown 
and Beth Flanders both of Damariscotta; three sisters, Opal 
Locke, Neva Cornell and Phyllis Hall, all of St. Marys; two 
brothers, Norman Locke of Duncan Falls, Ohio, and Harold

	Lawrence H. Lohri, 92, of 604 Main St., New Matamoras, 
died at 3:15 pm Thursday, in the medical Center at Punta 
Gorda, Fla.
	He was born May 17, 1895 at Fly to Henry and mary 
miller Lohri.  He was a member of the Matamoras Baptist 
Church.  He was a pumper in the oil fields and had been 
employed by the village of Matamoras for 12 years after 
retiring from the oil fields.  He was a 67 year member of 
the Matamoras Masonic Lodge 374; a lifetime member of the 
American Legion Post 378 at Matamoras; and a veteran of 
World War 1.
	In June, 1926 he married Mabel V. Ridgeway.  She died 
Nov. 24, 1982.
	He is survived by three daughters, Laura Mills of 
Matamoras, Sara Chaffin of Punta Gorda, and Nancy Lohri of 
Ashland; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
	He was preceded in death by five brothers, John, W.E., 
George, Elmer and Conrad.
	Masonic services were conducted. Hadley Funeral Home 
was in charge of the arrangements.

	She was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey Davis; 
by one daughter, two sisters, one brother and one grandson.

retired employee of Knotts Shop in Grafton and was a member 
of the United Methodist Church.
	He is survived by four sons, Marcellus Edward Lough of

David Lee Lough of Rayford Acres and Lonnie Richard Lough of 
Grafton; five daughters, Mrs Henry (Dora) Criss of Hammond

Robert (Virginia) Knotts of Grafton, Mrs. Nelson (Opal)

Faith Church, St. Marys.  He was an inventory supervisor for 
the Wetzel County Board of Education.  He was a member of 
the American Legion Post 86, Paden City, the VFW 
Sistersville, and the Moose Lodge, New Martinsville.
	He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Henderson Lough; 
one son, Michael Lee Lough of Sistersville; one daughter, 
Mrs. Connie Rae McFadden of Paden City; three grandchildren; 
four brothers, Robert Lough and Russell Lough, both of St. 
Marys, Harold Lough and Junior Lough, both of Sistersville; 
four sisters, Mrs. Mary White of Middlebourne, Mrs. Shirley

	He was preceded in death by two sisters and one

a shipping clerk with 28 years of service.  He was a 1947 
graduate of Pennsboro High School and a member of French 
Creek Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.
	He is survived by his wife, Emza M. Cunningham Lowther; 
two sons, Donzil E. Lowther of Scottsboro, Ala., and Jeffrey

	She was born August 12, 1906, at Nutter Farm, Ritchie 
County, a daughter of Amos Martin and Lucy Fannie Kendall

	Mrs. Lowther was a homemaker and a correspondent for 
The Parkersburg News.  She was a member of the Glendale Farm 
Women's Club and the Glendale Senior Citizens.  Mrs. Lowther 
was a member of and held various official position in the 
Glendale United Methodist Church and was a member of the 
United Methodist Women.
	Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Cecil C. and 
Emza Lowther, St. Marys; two daughters and sons-in-law, Elda 
Mae and Walter Ross, Parkersburg, and Maxine E. and Ted 
McPherson, Washington; one daughter-in-law, Lois L. Lowther, 
Middletown, Ohio; eight grandchildren; and six great-
grandchildren.
	She was preceded in death by her husband, Okey M. 
Lowther in 1967; a son Clyde K. Lowther, three brothers,

member of the First Baptist Church in Belmont and was a 
deacon for 30 years.  He served as superintendent of the 
Sunday school for 30 years.

the Pleasants County Board of Education, was a 35 year 
member of the Grant-Jefferson Lions Club, was
a retired member of the Pleasants County Teachers and 
Service Personnel, was a member of the Pleasants County 
Senior Citizens, and was a former member of the Pleasants 
County Planning Commission.
	He served as a member of the Pleasants County 
Democratic Executive Committee.  He was the director of the 
first Pleasants County Park Commission
and was active in sports at all levels in Pleasants County.
	He is also survived by his wife, Sophia Dennis Lowther; 
one daughter, Wilma Rogers of Belmont; four sons, Carl G. 
Lowther and John E. Lowther  both of St. Marys, Dale C. 
Lowther of Williamstown, and Gene K. Lowther of Belmont; 
four brothers, Guy, "Tom" Lowther of Parkersburg, Cliff 
Lowther of Akron, Ohio,  Billie Lowther of St. Marys and Don 
Lowther of Oklahoma; one sister, Helen Duty of Florida; 
three step-brothers and two step-sisters; nine-
grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
	He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gaynell 
Nichols Lowther, his stepfather, William H. Dennis, and two

the Eastern Star Ruth Chapter 7 and Emily Rebekah Lodge of

Martinsville, Mrs. Bill (LaVeta) Hanlin of St. Marys, and

	John Earl Lowther, 59, of Rt. 1, St. Marys, died Feb. 1

a heart attack.
	He was born Oct. 9, 1935, at Schultz to the late Glen 
Kenneth and Gaynell Lorraine Nichols Lowther.  He was 
employed by the West Virginia Division of Highways, District 
3, as area maintenance manager.  He was a member of First 
Baptist Church of Belmont, where he was a former Sunday 
School superintendent.  He was former president of the 
Willow Island, Schultz, and Belmont Baptist Parish, 
president of the St. Marys Band Patrons from 1979-81, former 
president of the Belmont PTA and emceed their variety shows.  
He was a former commissioner of the local Little League from 
1984-85 and had officiated high school football from 1982-
87.
	He is survived by his wife, Shauna Atkins Lowther; one 
daughter, Tina Wilson of St. Marys; two sons, Jeff Lowther 
of Washington, Pa, and J.D. Stanley of Little Hocking, Ohio, 
two grandchildren, Ryan Lowther of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, and 
Tessa Wilson of St. Marys; his stepmother, Sophia Lowther of 
St. Marys; one sister, Wilma Rogers of St. Marys; two 
brothers, Dale C. Lowther of Williamstown; Gene K. Lowther 
of Belmont; and several nieces and nephews.

business college in Clarksburg, and was retired from 
American Cyanamid at Willow Island.  He was also a verteran 
of the United States Navy.
	He is survived by his wife, Delma Tilon Lowther; one 
son, John Lee Lowther II of Route 1, St. Marys; three 
daughters, Mrs Kathryn Stanley of Santa Anna, Calif., Mrs. 
Margaret Propps of Route 1, Harrisville, and Donna Rae

Lowther's Used Car on Camden Avenue since 1941.
	He was born in Idaho, a son of the late Clarence E. and 
Minnie Rowley Lowther.
	He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise Gordon Lowther; 
three sons, William W. Lowther, Robert E. Lowther, and Dan 
L. Lowther, all of Parkersburg; two daughter, Sandra Juanita 
Peters of Parkersburg and Jessie Darlene Smith of Newark, 
WV; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one 
sister, Bessie Ritchie of Columbus.
	He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Patricia 
M. Lowther in 1989; a son-in-law, David Peters in 1991; one 
infant child; one brother; and one sister.
	The funeral will be 11 am Saturday at Kimes Funeral 
Home, Fifth Street, with Pastor Leon Valentine officiating.  
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery North.

Died April 25, 1988

	Zora Yvonne Lowther, 83, of Jacksonville, Fla., 
formerly of Parkersburg and Ritchie County, died Sunday at 
her home following a brief illness.
	She was born in Ritchie County, a daughter of the late 
Robert and Mary Jane Douglas Lowther.  She was a retired 
school teacher following 49 years of service in Wood County, 
Ritchie County, and Jacksonville, Fla.  She was a Protestant 
and attended the Baptist Church in Jacksonville.  She was a 
graduate of Cairo High School and Salem College.  She 
attended West Virginia University and the Gainesville 
College of Florida.
	She is survived by one sister, Alma Carper of Daniels, 
one brother Jess Lowther of Andrews, Texas, 24 nieces and 
nephews.
	She was preceded in death by five brothers and two 
sisters.
	The funeral will be at 2 pm, Saturday at the Clyde 
Sinnett Funeral Home Chapel, Spencer, with the Rev. Donald 
Coleman and the Rev. Frank Lowther officiating.  Burial will 
be in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Ritchie County.
	Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 pm Friday.

Gladys Irene Lucas
Died  April 8, 1995

	Gladys Irene Bennett Lucas, 65, of Raven Rock 
Community, died April 1 in St. Joseph's Hospital, 
Parkersburg.
	She was born in Pleasants County, October 7, 1929, the 
daughter of Okey and Eliza Bailey Bennett.  She was retired 
from Colin Anderson Center and a member of the Raven Rock 
United Methodist Church.
	She is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Jones, of St. 
Marys; two sons, Alvin Lucas, Jr. and Allen Lucas of St. 
Marys; five brothers, Leslie Bennett, Webster Bennett and 
Roy Lee Bennett, all of St. Marys, Larry  L. Bennett of 
Paden City and Alden Bennett of Fairmont; one sister, Agnes 
Bailey of East Liverpool, Ohio; and nine grandchildren.
	She was preceded in death by one son, David Lucas; two 
sisters, Audra Robertson and Nell Park; and one brother, 
Doris Bennett.
	Services were held Tuesday, april 4 at Ruttencutter 
Funeral Home with Evangelist Robert D. Eddy officiating.  
Interment was in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

	St. Marys -- Martha L. Lucas, 72, of St. Marys, died 
Friday evening at St. Joseph's Hospital.
	She was born in Pleasants County, a daughter of Albert 
and Martha Howell Adams.  She was a member of Mount Pleasant 
Church.
	She is survived by three sons, Gary R. Lucas, James 
Lucas, and Max Lucas all of St. marys; four daughters, 
Esther Dearth and Irene Kemp both of Point Lookout, Velma 
Stull of Ellenboro, Dora Lucas of St. Marys; six sisters, 
Dorothy Noland and Grace Smith both of St. Marys; Velma 
Haymond of Tennessee; Evelyn Nicholson of Marietta;  Laura 
Howell of Weirton;  Olive Barlow of Moundsville; two 
brothers, Dale Adams and Gordon Adams, both of Weiron; 21 
grandchildren, one great-grandchild.
	She was preceded in death by her husband, Rosemand 
Lucas; three sons, two daughters, two brothers, two sisters 
and two grandchildren.
	Services will be 1 pm Monday, at Mount Pleasants Church 
with the Rev. Frank Lambert and the Rev. Archie Fetty.  
Burial will be in the Mt. Pleasants Cemetery.
	Friends may call at the Ruttencutter Funeral Home after 
7 pm today and at the church one hour befroe the service on 
Monday.

Frank Ludolph
Died March 27, 1995

	Frank L. Ludolph, 67, of Fly, Ohio, died Monday at the 
New Martinsville Health Care Center, New Martinsville.
	Ludolph was a member of the Gravel Hill Baptist Church, 
Fly.  He was employed by Consolidated Aluminum as a metal 
inspector in Hannibal, Ohio.  He was a World War II veteran, 
a member of Matamoras Lodge 374 F&AM and the VFW of New 
Matamoras.  He was a life member of the DAV of Paden City.
	He was born in Fly a son of the late Roy C. and Velma 
Minger Ludolph.
	He is survived by his wife, Norma Hutchinson Ludolph of 
Fly; three sons, Don D. Ludolph of St. Marys, Richard D. 
Ludolph of Marietta, Ga, and Gregory D. Ludolph of Marietta, 
Ohio; four grandchildren; two brothers, Carl Ludolph and 
Ralph Ludolph, both of New Matamoras; and three sisters, 
Lucille Kinsey, Gladys Taylor and Shirley Blosser, all of 
New Matamoras.
	He was preceded in death by one brother, Russell 
Ludolph.
	Funeral services will be held at 11 am Thursday, at 
Hadley Funeral Home, New Matamoras.  Burial will be in 
Newport cemetery.
	Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-4 pm and 7-
9 pm Wednesday, where Masonic services will be at 6:30.

Raymond Ludolph
Died  September 24, 1981

	Raymond Ludolph, 72, Rt. 1, New Matamras,Ohio was dead 
on arrival at the Wetzel County Hospital at New Martinsville 
last Thursday.  
	He was born March 28, 1909 at Fly, Ohio, to Charley and 
Lillian Tuel Ludolph.  He married Marie Flowers in 1942.  
She preceded him in death in 1977.
	Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Mildred Evans of Fly; 
and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by 
two brothers.
	Services were held Sunday in the Hadley Funeral Home at 
New Matamoras with the Rev. Frank Conley officiating.  
Burial was in Matamoras Cemetery.

	Florence Griffith Luzadder, 66, Grafton, died July 13 
in Grafton City Hospital.  She was born in Pleasants County, 
a daughter of Raymond Griffith , Sr. of Cloverdale and the 
late Mamie Cameron Griffith.  She was a Methodist, a member 
of the Marietta VFW and the Clarksburg Eagles.
	She is survived by her husband, James A,. Luzadder; two 
daughters, Mary Shingleton, Grafton and Charlene Pethtel 
Butler, St. Marys, one son, William E. Pethtel, Jr., 
Westerville, Ohio; one brother, Raymond E. Griffith, II, 
Devola; one sister, Doris Stewart, Vienna; seven 
grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two step-
grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren.
	She was preceded in death by one sister, Cora Schultz.
	Funeral services were held Monday at Ruttencutter 
Funeral Home, with the Rev. Arnold McIntosh officiating.  
Burial was in the St. Marys IOOF Cemetery.

	Mrs. Jennie Lynch, 61, of 310 Poplar St., St. Marys, 
died at the West Virginia University Medical Center in 
Morgantown Friday afternoon.
	She was born at Martins Ferry, daughter of the late 
John and Josephine Bilan.  She was a retired employee of 
Colin Anderson Center and a member of St. John Catholic 
Church.
	She is survived by her husband, Clarence E. Lynch, Sr.;  
four sons, Clarence, Jr. of Friendly, Steve of Marietta, 
Ohio, Larry of Columbia, S.C., and John of Sigma, Michigan; 
a sister, Mrs. Helen Dolezal of Massilon, Ohio, a brother 
Chester Bilan of Michigan; four grandchildren and a great-
granddaughter.
	She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Lynch.
	Services were conducted Monday at the Eckles Funeral 
Home in Sistersville.  The Rev. Richard Schafer officiated 
with burial in the Friendly Cemetery.

	She was a member of the Church of God in Belmont.

Clark Memorial Hospital.
	She was born in Wood county, a daughter of the late 
Leslie and Myrtle D. Witt Hall.
	She is survived by her husband, Ralph Lynch; two 
daughters, Sarah McLaughlin of Marietta, and Myrtle 
McLaughlin of Boger, Texas; two sons, John E. Worlfe and 
Robert Hunt, both of Wilmington, NC; three sisters, Pearl 
Davis of Parkersburg, Mildred Hunt of Casa Grande, Arizona; 
Betty Windsor of Rea, Mo.; one brother, Carl Woodrow Hall of 
Cutler, Ohio; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
	She was preceded in death by two sons, Joseph B. and 
Clifford W. Wollfe; a great-great-grandson; four brothers, 
Joseph, Richard, Robert and Vincent Hall; and an infant 
sister, Ruth Hall.
	The funeral will be 1 pm Sunday at Leavitt Funeral 
Home, Parkersburg.  Burial of remainds will be in Rockland 
Cemetery.

Mrs. Rufus E. Lynch 
Died  November, 1975

	Mrs. Deborah Lynch, 85, of 814 Highland Ave, 
Williamstown, died in Worthington Manor Nursing Home, 
Parkersburg.
	She was born August 27, 1890, in Pleasants County, a 
daughter of the late Nathan J. and Ruth Osborne Matheny.  
She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, 
Marietta.
	In 1912, she was married to Rufus E. Lynch, who died in 
1972.
	Two sons and one daughter survive, Gene Lynch, 
Williamstown, James Nathan Lynch, Los Angeles, Calif,. and 
Mrs. Joseph Wolfe, Columbus.
There are six granchildren and a number of great-
granchildren.  One grandson, Walter Holbert, was reared in 
the Lynch home.  Two sisters survive , Mrs. Clara Hall and 
Mrs. Lillie Elliott, both of Marietta.  Mrs Lynch was 
preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Pauline Oldaker, a 
brother and two sisters.
	Services were held in First Church of the Nazarene, 
with the Rev. Herman Ward and the Rev. W.F. Miller 
officiating.  Burial was in Valley Cemetery.

Harley Eugene Lynn
Died June 17, 1984

	Harley Eugene Lynn, 66, of 2604 Lincoln Ave., 
Parkersburg, died at St. Joseph's Hospital Sunday morning.
	He was born in Mounds, IL, to the late Eugene and 
Sophia Burton Lynn. He was a member of the Calvary Community 
Church in Belpre, was an electrician, a former employee of 
the American Viscose Co., and retired in 1981.
	He is survived by his wife, Mamie Small Lynn; a son 
Fred Lynn of Belpre; a brother Harry Lynn of Vienna; two 
sisters, Evelyn Brian of St. Marys and Alberta of 
Youngstown, Ohio; and three grandchildren.
	 A daughter, Beverly Cornell, died in 1982.
	The funeral was at 2 pm Wednesday at the Burdette 
Funeral Home with the Rev. Clay Sloan officiating.  Burial 
was in Mt Olivet Cemetery in Parkersburg.
