Marriages - Partial list for the year of 1883-
(sp) is added after any word that the spelling is questionable for.  In each
case, I took my best GUESS.

Date of license

June 25- Isaac Milton Frye, 35, and Mahala Ann Nazelrod, 24, both born in
              Shenandoah County, Va.,were married at the residence of John
              Mathais, on June 28th by L.D. Caldwell.

June 28- Angus Wood Heishman, 30, and Laura Francis Dorman (sp.) 17, both
              born in Hardy County, were married in Moorefield, June 28th by
			  Jas. Beaty.

July 11- Augustus Sommerfield Morrison, 37, and Elmira Lewis, 19, both born
             in Hardy County, were married at the M. E. Church, July 11th, by
			 J. A. Reid.

July 26- John Wesley Dasher (sp) 22, and Martha Rebecca Judy,29, both born
              in Hardy County were married near Peru, Hardy County on July
			  29th by A. ?. Hahn Ev. Luth Pobb. (sp.)

Aug.15- Benjamin Franklin McNeman (sp) 21, and Mary Magdalene
             Heishman,16, both born in Hardy County were married at the bride’s
             fathers in Bean Set, on Aug.16 by Rev. J. H. Reynolds.

Aug.17- Charles William Shockey, 23, and Sidney Ann Buckalew, 15, both born
             in Hampshire County,were married at the residence of Mrs. Buckalew,
             on Aug. 19 by Jas. Beaty.

Sept. 1- Robert Miller, 23, born Shenandoah County and Sarah Margarett
             Hines, 16, born Hampshire County, were married at Malon (sp) Bean
             in the Bean Settlement on Sept 6, by J. H. Reynolds.

 Sept.14-George Chapman Smith, 21, and Mary Amzella Cook, 19, both born in
              Hardy County, were married at L. Smith on September 16, by Charles
              Miller.

Sept. 21- James Franklin May, 20, born in Hardy County, and Ada Catherine
              Ritenous (sp) 18, born in Grant County were married at M. V.
              Ritenours on Sept. 25 by J. G. Ketterman.

Sept. 29- John Smith, 32 and Ann Eliza Teets ,18, both born in Hardy County,
               were married at John Bradfields on  Bakers Run on Oct. 4th by Rev.
               J. H. Reynolds.

Oct. 6- Nathaniel Walker, widower, 47, born in Shenandoah County and Mary
           Elizabeth Winchester,divorced, 43, born in Hardy County, were married
           at A. S. Sniders in Hardy County Oct, 8th, by Saml Umstot.

Oct. 24- John Henry Whetsell, 27, and Sarah Shuiman (sp), 24, both born in
             Hardy County were married in Moorefield, Oct 25th by Jas Beaty.

Oct. 26- William Godlove, 21, and Saura V. Shipman, 30, both born in Hardy
             County, were married at Hardenville, W. Va. on Nov. 1st by Rev. L. M.
             Sibole.

Oct. 27- Robert Duffey,28, and Emily Smith, 25, both born in Hardy County,
             were married at the home of the bride, Nov. 1st by Jas Beaty
