NINA REINWALD OLDFIELD
THE MOOREFIELD (WV) EXAMINER, Wednesday, June 30, 1999

Nina Reinwald Oldfield, age 91 of Romney, WV passed away on 
June 22, 1999 at the home of Mr. And Mrs. Richard Baker, 
Romney, WV.

She was born on January 23, 1908 in St. Petersburg, Russia 
the daughter of the late William Frederick and Helena 
Kolbush Reinwald.

Mrs. Oldfield was preceded in death by her husband of 
nearly 60 years, J. Emmett Oldfield on June 27, 1992.  
He was a noted performer of stage and television.

Mrs. Oldfield was accepted into the National Ballet 
School (formerly the Russian Imperial Ballet; now 
called Choreographic Institute in the name of 
Vaganova).  As a pupil of that school she danced 
in the Maryinski Theater (now Kirev).

On coming to the United States she danced in various 
dance productions on Broadway, New York City and most 
of the large cities from Maine to California; also 
London, England, Canada and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

In 1950 she moved permanently to the mountains outside 
of Romney in 1951 and offered to give free ballet 
lessons to the students at the WV School for the 
Deaf and taught there for 39 years.  She opened 
schools for dance in Keyser, Moorefield, Romney, 
Petersburg, and Westernport.  She also taught 
ballet at numerous dance teachers' conventions.  
She was a member of Dance Masters of America and 
was on the Examining Board of the New York City 
Chapter.  Her combined schools, including the deaf 
pupils, appeared in Winchester Apple Blossom 
Festival for many years.  She staged the pageant, 
"Romney Review of 1962" to celebrate the Romney 
Bicentennial and the following year staged 
"Mineral County Spree of 1963" to celebrate the 
Mineral County Centennial.

Surviving is one cousin, Inge Reinwald Loschky of 
Mercer Island, WA.

A graveside service was held on Friday, June 25 at 
Fairview Cemetery, Grassey Lick Road in Romney with 
interment in Fairview Cemetery in Romney, WV.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the 
Shaffer Funeral Home, Romney, WV.

LLOYD W. ORNDORFF
THE MOOREFIELD (WV) EXAMINER, Wednesday, August 6, 1997
Lloyd (John) William Orndorff, age 71 of Laurel, Maryland 
passed away on July 31, 1997 at the Laurel Regional Hospital 
in Laurel, MD.

Born in Wardensville, WV, he was the son of the late Cora V. 
and William R. Orndorff.

Mr. Orndorff was a heavy equipment operator; a veteran of 
World War II serving in the US Army.  He retired January 
31, 1991 from Arnold Parreco and Sons, in Hyattsville, 
Maryland after 25 years of service.  He was a member of 
the Hope Baptist Church of Laurel, MD and a member of 
Local #77 Operating Engineers AFL-CIO.

Surviving are his wife, Elnora S. Orndorff of Laurel, 
MD; one daughter, Diane Lynn Sullivan, Odenton, MD; 
one sister, Elizabeth Orndorff of Wardensville, WV; a 
son-in-law, Robert Buyreal Sullivan, Jr. of Odenton, 
MD and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church of 
Savage in Savage, Maryland on Monday, August 4, 1997 with 
the Rev. Terry J. Stockman, Sr. officiating with burial in 
the Fort Lincoln Cemetery in Brentwood, Maryland.

Memorial donations may be made to the Hope Baptist Church, 
P.O. Box 1361, Laurel, Maryland 20725.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Fleck 
Funeral Home in Laurel, Maryland.

DANIEL DAVIS ORNDORFF
THE MOOREFIELD (WV) EXAMINER, Wednesday, December 22, 1999

Daniel Davis Orndorff, age 78 of Wardensville, WV died on 
Saturday, December 18, 1999 at his residence.

Mr. Orndorff was born on February 5, 1921 in Zepp, VA, a 
son of the late Warner D. and Mary Connor Orndorff.  He 
owned and operated W.D. Orndorff and Son Gulf Station and 
Ford Dealership in Wardensville for over 40 years.  He was 
a 1941 graduate of Wardensville High School.  He was a 
veteran in World War II in the U.S. Army.  He served as 
a school bus driver for Hardy County Schools for 30 years.  
He was a 50-year charter member of the Wardensville Lions 
Club and a charter member of the Capon Valley Volunteer 
Fire Department.  He served as the treasurer for the Fire 
Department for over 20 years.  He was a member of the 
Wardensville Town Council for two terms, and was also 
on the board of directors of the War Memorial Association.

He was married for 51 years to June Rae Orndorff on November 
25, 1948 in Wardensville, WV.

Surviving with his wife are two sons; Jeffery D. Orndorff of 
Morgantown, WV, Mitch Orndorff of Winchester; one daughter, 
Mary Faye Plasters of Stephens City, VA; one sister, Anna 
Katherine Pepper of Winchester; ten grandchildren and two 
great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held on Wednesday, December 22, 1999 
at the St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Wardensville, WV.  
Officiating was Pastor Richard Moll and Pastor Clarence 
Davis, Jr.  Interment was at the Wardensville Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Joe Bowers, Michael Funkhouser, John Warner 
Kerr, Scott Plasters, Ben Plasters and Kenneth Jenkins.  
Honorary pallbearers were members of the VFW Post #1202 in 
Wardensville, members of the Capon Valley Volunteer Fire 
Department and members of the Wardensville Lions Club.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Wardensville Rescue 
Squad, P.O. Box 2, Wardensville, WV 26851 or to the War 
Memorial Association, 190 Main Street, Wardensville, WV 
26851.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Loy-
Giffin Funeral Home in Wardensville, West Virginia.

M. VIRGINIA (SMITH) OURS
THE MOOREFIELD (WV) EXAMINER, Wednesday, September 10, 1997

Margaret Virginia (Smith) Ours, age 96, of Wardensville, WV 
and formerly of Petersburg, WV died Wednesday, September 10, 
1997 at Life Care Center of New Market, New Market, VA, where 
she had resided the past three weeks.

Born September 4, 1901 at Petersburg, WV, she was the daughter 
of the late Hubert and Ida E. (Barger) Smith.

Mrs. Ours was preceded in death by her husband, Archie W. Ours 
in 1990.  She was also preceded in death by three sisters, 
Edna Knotts and Alice Ravenscroft and Annie M. Smith; four 
brothers, Clarence, Thomas, Dale and French Smith.

Mrs. Ours was a member of the Corner United Methodist Church 
at Cabins, WV.

Surviving are one son, Randall S. Ours of Broadway, VA; two 
daughters, Lucille Hubble and Betty Robison both of 
Wardensville, WV; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 
one sister, Dorothy Taylor of Goldendale, Washington; three 
brothers, Richard Smith of Petersburg, WV, Eugene Smith of 
Tampa, Florida and Carr Smith of Hagerstown, MD; and several 
nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held Saturday at Schaeffer Funeral 
Home with Pastor David Garns officiating.  Burial was in 
Maple Hill Cemetery at Petersburg, WV.

Memorials may be made to Mathias Baker Rescue Squad or 
Wardensville Rescue Squad or Faith Mission Church, 
Wardensville, WV.

Grandchildren served as pallbearers.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the 
Schaeffer Funeral Home, Petersburg, WV.
