RUTH MAE INSKEEP
THE MOOREFIELD (WV) EXAMINER, Wednesday, August 4, 1999

Ruth Mae Inskeep, age 86, of Moorefield, WV, passed away 
Friday, July 23, 1999 at the Martha Jefferson Hospital in 
Charlottesville, VA.

Mrs. Inskeep was born the daughter of the late William and 
Mary Belle (Fitzwater) Ratliff, November 15, 1912 in 
Moorefield.

She married Philip W. Inskeep, was a homemaker, antique 
dealer, a member of the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, a 55-
year member of the Old Fields Farm Women's Club, a Historical 
Society Member and a Moorefield Senior Center Board Member.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, 
Philip W. Inskeep on Feb. 1, 1980, two sisters and three 
brothers.

Surviving are three daughters, Phyllis Sirk of Moorefield, 
Lea Gregory of Woodbury, NJ and Linda Shears of Gordonsville, 
VA; one son, Philip Inskeep of Petersburg, WV; one sister, 
Ethel Cullers of Moorefield; one brother, James Ratliff of 
Moorefield; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Monday, July 26, 1999 at the 
Elmore-Chambers Funeral Home with the Rev. Frank Coe 
officiating.  Burial was in the Olivet Cemetery in 
Moorefield.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Emmanuel 
Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 692, Moorefield, WV 26836 or 
the Hardy County Historical Society, c/o Will Weatherholtz, 
Treasurer, 124 South Main Street, Moorefield, WV 26836.

Pallbearers were Paul Inskeep, Russell Ratliff, Jr., Gary 
Ratliff, Harold Ratliff, Roy Ratliff and Woody Cullers.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Elmore 
Funeral Home.

MARY SUE JOHNSON

THE MOOREFIELD (WV) EXAMINER, Wednesday, April 17, 1996

Mrs. Mary Sue Johnson, age 95, passed away April 13, 1996 at 
her residence on Trout Run Road in Wardensville, WV.

Born June 20, 1900 in Mecklinburg Co., Boydton, VA she was the 
daughter of the late A. B. and Ella Nethery Heiss.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Johnson in 
1981.

Mrs. Johnson was retired from Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone 
Co. after 40 years.

Funeral services were held at the Loy Funeral Home with the 
Rev. S. Jeff Anderson officiating with burial in the Greenfield 
Cemetery in Wardensville, WV.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Loy 
Funeral Home in Wardensville, WV.

OPAL A. JONES
THE MOOREFIELD (WV) EXAMINER, Wednesday, November 18, 1998

Opal Arbutus (Whittington) Jones, age 67, of Greencastle, 
PA and formerly of Buckhannon, WV, passed away Sunday night, 
Nov. 8, 1998 at the Penn Hall Nursing Home in Chambersburg, PA.

The daughter of the late George W. and Vernie (Mongold) 
Whittington, she was born April 22, 1931, in Old Fields, 
WV.  She was also preceded in death by one sister, Rosanna 
Whittington.

Mrs. Jones had been employed at Reidbord in Buckhannon and 
retired from J. Schoeneman in Chambersburg in April of 1993.

She is survived by her husband, Clyde Jones, of Greencastle, 
PA; one daughter, Janet Copeland of Greencastle, PA; one son, 
Wayne Saville of Bridgeport, WV; three sisters, Velma Heavner 
of Moorefield, Mabel Haywood of Manassas, VA and Beulah Henry 
of Wardensville, WV; three grandchildren and three great-
grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Nov. 11, 1998 at 
10:00 a.m. at the Elmore-Chambers Funeral Home with the Rev. 
Calvin McCutcheon officiating.  Burial followed at the Olivet 
Cemetery in Moorefield.

Pallbearers were: Charles Ours, Chester Ours, Chester Mongold, 
Victor Bison, Lyle Weatherholtz and John Swick.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, E. 
King St., Chambersburg, PA 17201.
