CLENDENEN, Robert--born ca 1747, died 1785/after November 1805; possible son of Charles 
CLENDENEN (have sheet); married Margaret SIMPSON; accroding to his Revolutionary War 
pension files, he petitioned the House of Burgesses stating he had been drafted out of the 
Augusta Militia and send under the command of Capt Moffit to the Frontier; in action with a large 
body of Indians, he was seriously woulded in the right arm which deprived him of the use thereof 
and rendered him incapable of making his livelihood; he was awarded 40 pounds for the doctor 
and medican expenses and 10 pound per year for the rest of his life; in 1788 he was re-
examined by a surgeon who certified his right arm was still useless, he stated he was then about
