Sunday in Arlington. Services are set for 11 a.m. Thursday at Emerald Hills
Memorial Chapel,with burial in Chapel cemetery. Survivors include his wife,
Janelle LOCKARD; two sons, Bert LOCKARD, and Bart LOCKARD, and one
daughter,Deborah LOCKARD,all of Arlington,TX, and another daughter,Carole
HILL,of Tennessee; and six grandchildren.

LAUDERDALE COUNTY ENTERPRISE RIPLEY,TENNESSEE JULY 19,2001 MRS.CROWDER..Dovie
Lee CROWDER,77,retired presser for Halltex Manfacturing,died Tuesday of last
week,of heart failure in Ripley Healthcare. Services were at 10 a.m. Thursday of
last week in Garner Funeral Home,burial in Mary's Chapel Cemetery. A member of
Conner Assembly of God,she was the widow of Brodis CROWDER. She leaves three
sons, James CROWDER, Jerry CROWDER, and Hilton CROWDER; a daughter,Ruby Dean
CROWDER,all of Ripley; 13 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

July 17th in the Ripley gazebo. Bro.Gene SANDERS officiated. The bride,wearing a
light blue and purple lace floor length dress,was given in marriage by her
grandfather,Rick ODEGAARD,of Ripley. She carried a bouquet of assorted flowers.
Abby HUTCHERSON,sister of the groom, was maid of honor. Sarah Helton,sister of
the bride,was the flower girl and Avery VAUGHN was the ring bearer.Avery VAUGHN
was the best man. The couple traveled to NC after the wedding.

Cemetery at Arp. He leaves his wife,Margaret WEBB WOODARD; sons,Clayton WOODARD

WOODVILLE..Mr.J.D. LANCASTER had a serious accident to occur at his home last
Friday.An ox made an attack on one of his mules on which his boy was riding and
tore the breast of the mule open. The boy was thrown,striking his head on a big
limb and sustaining severe injuries.

LAUDERDALE COUNTY ENTERPRISE RIPLEY,TENNESSEE SEPTEMBER 2,1932 HENNING..After a
lingering illness of more than a year,Mrs.Lula M. HARLAN was relieved of her
suffering by the mercy of God when He called her to come up higher Monday at 2
p.m.in the home of her sister,Mrs.Laura LANKFORD who nursed her so lovingly and
faithfully to the end.Mrs.HARLAN,the daughter of A.H. and Matilda WAKEFIELD
CROOK was born at Glimp on June 11,1883,where she lived until her marriage about
20 years ago.They moved to Humphrey,Ark.,where she resided until a few years ago
when she came home and lived with her father at the family home.When her health
failed,she came to her sister's here where she could be cared for more
terderly.She bore her aflication with the greatest of patience,always greeting
her friends with a smile.She was ready,even anxious to answer the Master's
call.Mrs.HARLAN was a member of the Baptist church in Humphrey,and the funeral
was held at Poplar Grove cemetery Tuesday at 10 a.m.,conducted by
Rev.L.A.BYRD,of the Henning Baptist Church,assisted by Rev.E.W.MAXEDON &
Rev.O.J.ANDREWS. She leaves her father; four brothers,O.C.CROOK & C.E.CROOK,of
Glimp,A.H.CROOK of Memphis,& A.L.CROOK,of Moorehead,Miss.;and one
sister,Mrs.Laura LANKFORD,of Henning.

father,Mr.M.A.WINSETT several days last week. Mrs.Herman YOUNGER of Ashport,was
called here Saturday to attend the bedside of her daughter,Mrs.McKinley COOPER.
Mr.& Mrs.McKinley COOPER are parents of a daughter born August 27th. Mr.Solon
CROOK is on the sick list.

LOCALS..Mr.& Mrs.Walter BRIGGS carried their little daughter,Donna Marie to the
Baptist hospital in Memphis for an operation.They were accompanied by Mr.&
Mrs.W.L.BRIGGS,of Luckett and Mr.& Mrs.Arnold OWEN. Mrs.C.W.WOODARD complimented
her cousin,Mrs.Woodson BARNES,a recent bride,with a miscellaneous shower.Games
were played and refreshments were served.The honoree was the recipient of many
lovely and useful gifts.

LAUDERDALE COUNTY ENTERPRISE RIPLEY,TENNESSEE FEBRUARY 14,2002 CLYDE THURSTON
ARWOOD..80,of Jackson,who was born in Ripley to the late James C. & Bess
BALLINGER ARWOOD, died Tuesday of last week in Jackson-Madison County Hospital.
Rites were Thursday of last week in Ridgecrest Cemetery,Lawrence-Sorenson
Funeral Home in charge. He served in the Air Corps during WWII,at Keesler Field
at Biloxi,Miss.,and at Pocatello,Idaho. A retired mail carrier,he was a member
of Westover Baptist Church,Jackson. He was the widower of Treva HUGHES ARWOOD.
Survivors include two sisters,Mary Nelle HINTON,of Jackson and Sybil
A.(Mrs.Charles B.)PEYTON,of Humboldt,and a granddaughter.

LAUDERDALE COUNTY ENTERPRISE RIPLEY,TENNESSEE   FRIDAY  FEBRUARY 4,1966 BEN GUS
FISHER--who moved to Covington from Ripley eight months ago,died last Friday in
Tipton County Hospital,about 2 hours after his car was struck by a Illinois
Central freight train at a crossing just off Highway 51 north near Ralph
Concrete Works,where he was employed.The train struck the rear of the car,FISHER
was thrown from the car.Services were Sunday in Garner Funeral Home,burial in
Chestnut Grove Cemetery in Brownsville.He leaves his wife,MRS.FRANCES ELIZABETH
FISHER; his mother,MRS.MYRTLE FINCHER,of near Ripley; a son,DONALD RAY FISHER,of
Memphis; two daughters,LISA ANN FISHER and ROBBIE LOUISE FISHER,both of
Covington; and a step-brother,WILLIAM FINCHER,of Chicago.

LAUDERDALE COUNTY ENTERPRISE RIPLEY,TENNESSEE   FRIDAY  FEBRUARY 4,1966 MARINE
PRIVATE SAMMIE LEE BEDWELL--20 years,of Friendship,nephew of W.A.PERRY of
Halls,was killed in combat action near Da Nang,Viet Nam,his family was informed
Sunday.He was the son of MRS.BERTHA BEDWELL,of near Friendship. He had been in
the Marines since June,1964 and in Viet Nam eleven months.He was the first
Crockett County casualty of the war.(From next issue,Feb.11th; Services were
Thursday Feb.10th in Friendship,burial in Belle Vernon Cemetery.)

MRS.HANNA SMITH ADAIR--of Memphis,a medical laboratory technician,who was a
sister of MRS.CHARLES ROY,of Henning,died Jan.23rd of an apparent heart
attack,she was 49.Services were Tuesday of last week in Brighton Baptist
Church,burial was in salem Cemetery.She also leaves a son,FORREST ADAIR,JR.,of
Atlanta,Ga.; a daughter,MRS.DON C.COUSINS,of Bell,Calif.; her mother,MRS.NANCY

LUCAS--of Ripley,Methodist minister,who had served churches in Hickman,Ky.,and
in Ark.,before he worked in later years as a carpenter in Ripley,died at 1:30
a.m.Wednesday in Laud.Co.Hosp.,he was 88. Services were Thursday in New Hope
Methodist Church of which he was a member,burial in Grace Cemetery.He leaves no
close kin.

LAUDERDALE COUNTY ENTERPRISE RIPLEY,TENNESSEE   FRIDAY  FEBRUARY 4,1966 LEROY
GIBBONS--of Maury City,who had lived in Halls as an employee of Connall Drug
Company,died last Friday night,shortley after having entered Jackson-Madison
Co.Hosp.,he was 62.Services were in Maury City Methodist Church,burial was in
Floyd's Chapel Cemetery.He was employed as a millwright in Decatur,Ala.He leaves

AUGUSTUS PARKER,80--of Memphis,who was born at Curve,died at 7:25 p.m.last
Thursday in John Gaston Hospital,Memphis,three hours after having been struck by
a car as he stepped from behind a parked car on Latham,less than a block from
his home.He was knocked 38 feet by the passing car.Driver of the car,OSCAR
F.WILLIAMS,39,a negro of Memphis,told officers he did not see MR.PARKER in time
to stop.Witnesses confirmed his story.The car skidded 49 feet downhill on the
street before striking MR.PARKER.Services were in Memphis Funeral Home,burial in
Forest Hill Cemetery.He moved to Memphis 30 years ago,retired in 1954 as

PEARL SPARKS--former Ripley newspaperwoman,who was a retired member of the staff
of Florence,Ala.,State College,died December 21st in Florence; Lauderdale County
friends learned just this week.Her family founded The Weekly News in 1871,and
she was associated with it until it ended publication in 1913.For sometime she
was The Enterprise's society editor.In 1918,she went to Florence,where her
brother,WILL M.SPARKS had become associated with The Times.She was its society
editor,then worked in an insurance office,then to the business office of
Florence College.After 8 years,she became head of its news bureau and directed
it 18 years.She "retired" in 1948.

INJURED BY ROLLING TRUCK--JANIE MARIE HUTCHERSON,two-and a-half year old
daughter of DALE and LINDA HUTCHERSON,was fatally injured Saturday afternoon
when her father's unloaded and unattended two-ton truck rolled over her in the
front yard of the home of her grandparents,MR.& MRS.JOHN HUTCHERSON,at Dry Hill.
The child was pronounced dead with a fractured skull on arrival at Parkview
Hospital,Dyersburg.MR.HUTCHERSON was at Parkview Hospital to take his wife and
new baby home when he learned of the tragedy.MR.HUTCHERSON drove his truck into
the yard of his parents where the child was playing.He got out of the truck and
into a car to go to Parkview.After the farmer had left home,the truck began
rolling rearward,striking the child and killing her instantly.Services were at 3
p.m.Sunday in Dry Hill Assembly of God Church.The Rev.HILTON GRIMES
officiated,burial was in Dry Hill Cemetery.She also leaves her maternal
grandparents,MR.& MRS.THOMAS MULLIGAN,of Central,and three sisters.

VOWELL JR--of Jonesboro,Ark.,who formerly lived in Ripley,and who has several
relatives in Lauderdale County,died at 6 p.m.Monday in a Jonesboro Hospital from
injuries received in a train-auto accident Jan.31st in Jonesboro.He was 17.
Services were in Jonesboro Methodist Church at 10 a.m. Thursday at 3
p.m.Graveside services were held here at Asbury Cemetery.He leaves his father,a

after an accident in which the 1955 Ford sedan he was driving,owned by MILTON
CASEY,went out of control while passing a truck and slammed into a utility pole
on Highway 51 about three miles north of Covington.CASEY,19,son of MR.&
MRS.VERNON CASEY,of Ripley,was treated at Tipton Hospital for head cuts,state

KIRKPATRICK MOURNED--WILLIAM L.KIRKPATRICK,42,formerly of Ripley,was arrested in
Miami,Fla.,Tuesday on Wyoming charges of assault with intent to commit murder as
he appeared at an inquest in which Peace Justice RUTH SUTTON reserved ruling on
the shotgun death of his wife,AILENE BRAY KIRKPATRICK,30,formerly of Ripley in
their Hialeah,Fla.,home April 10th.The peace justice said the inquest ruling
would await filing of briefs by the attorneys.florida officers said the Wyoming
charges,stemming from a supper-time argument in the Ramshorn Inn in
Dubois,Wyo.,April 4th,had nothing to do with MRS.KIRKPATRICK's death. HAROLD
MEIER,prosecutoe for Fremont Co.,in Lander,Wyo.,said KIRKPATRICK wanted to
"shoot it out" with a man named DALE THOMPSON at the inn. "There had been some
drinking," the prosecutor said. "I don't believe the two men knew each other
before." The inn owner,ROBERT LLOYD,and his son also fought with KIRKPATRICK,
MEIER said.He said KIRKPATRICK was charged on two other counts of aggravated
assault and battery "for striking them with the butt of a pistol." The shotgun
fired and killed his wife,KIRKPATRICK told sheriff's deputies,as he removed it
from its case after his hunting trip to Wyoming.The gun discharged through the
scabbard and struck MRS.KIRKPATRICK in the chest,detectives said.They said the
shooting appeared accidental.The couple's nine-year-old daughter,VICKI LYNN
KIRKPATRICK,witnessed the shooting,officers said.MRS.KIRKPATRICK also leaves her

SONDERMAN CLARK--widow of FRED CLARK,Ashport farmer,died at 9:15 p.m. Tuesday at
her home at Ashport,she was 69.Services were in Ripley Funeral Home,burial in
Asbury Cemetery.Born in Ky.,she spent most of her life in Lauderdale County.She
leaves two sons,W.F.CLARK,of Mounds and ESRA CLARK,of Ripley; two daughters,
MRS.LOUISE PHILLIPS,of Poplar Bluff,Mo.,and MRS.PAUL GAINES,of Golddust; 16
grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Madison County Hospital,she was 75.Services were in Johnson's Crossroads
Primitive Baptist Church near Henderson,burial in church cemetery.She also
leaves three sons,NOLEN THOMPSON,of Jackson, WILLARD THOMPSON,and EVERETT
THOMPSON,of Jacks Creek; a daughter,MRS.MAXWELL CHUMNEY,of Jackson; another
brother,ANDERSON HOLMES,of Huron; a sister,MRS.CANCADA RIALS,of Huron.

LAUDERDALE COUNTY ENTERPRISE FRIDAY JANUARY 7,1966 KILLED IN COLLISION--
MRS.SHIRLEY MAXINE PARKER,31,who was born near Edith,was killed Saturday in a
two-car collision near Jonesboro,Ark.,while returning from a family reunion in
Memphis to her home in Knoxville,Iowa.Also killed in the accident were JOHN
F.DAVIS,61, and JAKE K.HUFSTEDLER,58,both of Pocahontas,Ark.Injured in the
accident were MRS.MARY HUFSTEDLER and MISS MARY DAVIS,who were taken to
St.Bernard's Hospital in Jonesboro.MRS.PARKER's husband,FOREST PARKER and their
8-year-old son,JAMES PARKER,were taken to Methodist Hospital,Memphis,with head
and chest injuries. Services for MRS.PARKER were in the Memphis Funeral
Home,burial in Woodhaven Memory Gardens in Millington.She also leaves her
parents,MR.& MRS.J.B.AKIN,JR.,of Millington; and a brother,DUDLEY AKIN,of
Memphis.

hip,entered Parkview Hospital,Dyersburg,Monday for surgery.  FRED MANESS is in
Kennedy Hospital in Memphis.  MRS.JERRY LEWIS,of Halls,was dismissed Monday from
Parkview Hosp.,Dyersburg.She is recovering from injuries suffered in an auto
accident last November.

POSTAL POSITION--H.E.(EDDIE)EVANS,Jr.,of Ripley ,began duties Saturday as
assistant postmaster in Ripley.He was formerly a rural mail carrier.He succeeds
WILL WILLIAMS,who retired December 30th after having served over 47 years in the
post office.EVANS,a WWII veteran,served as a pilot in the Air Force.He is a
member of the American Legion,past master of Ripley Masonic Lodge,and Sunday
school superintendent in First Methodist Church.

-MISS ROSEMARY YOUNGER,daughter of MRS.G.W.YOUNGER,of Rt.1,Ripley,and the late
MR.YOUNGER,was married to JAMES IVEN PICKENS,son of MR.& MRS.IVEN ANDREW
PICKENS,of Rt.4,Ripley,on Thursday,the 13th of January at Macedonia Baptist
Church at Edith.The Rev.J.E.COOPER,pastor,performed the sacred vows at 6:30 p.m.
The bride,given in marriage by her brother,MANSON YOUNGER,was dressed in a white
sheath fashioned gown with three quarter lenght sleeves.Edging the sleeves and
the V-shaped neckline were ruffles of white lace.She carried a white satin Bible
surmounted with an orchid arranged with lace and white satin streamers,tied in
lover's knots.MISS BARBARA NELLE CHISMOLM,daughter of MR.& MRS.LEWIS
L.CHISHOLM,and neice of the groom,served as maid of honor.She wore a royal blue
frock trimmed in white.Her flowers were white Carnations. FRANKLIN T.DUVALL was
best man.Following the ceremony,a reception was held in the bride's
home,MRS.YOUNGER,the bride's mother,greeted the guests wearing a navy and white
suit.MRS.PICKENS wore a becoming black suit. Assisting in the reception were
MISS MARION JEAN CHANDLER, MISS PATRICIA LEE, and MRS.OPAL EMERSON.After a short
wedding trip the couple are at home with the groom's parents.The bride attended
Ripley High School,where she was a member of the Glee Club,Senior 4-H Club and a
member of Delta Sigma Delta.She was pianist for the Rainbow for Girls.The groom
graduated Halls High School,where he played football four years.He was a member
of Halls Beta Club,president of Future Farmers of America of the senior class.

AILING--WILLIAM VAUGHN of Halls was overcome by carbon monoxide Tuesday while at
work as mechanic for Cook Implement Co.,in Halls.He was rushed to Parkview

IS BURNED--A red robed Ku Klux Klansman led about ten shivering young men and
one woman in partially burning a ten foot cross in a snowy field west of Highway
51,two miles west of Gates,at 9 p.m. Wednesday.A Klansman photographed the group
with hands upraised as they recited oaths.The cross was only partially burned
before the group sought warmer quarters.The Klan spokesman said the group was
protesting what he termed "harassment" of Klan members in this vicinity by the
FBI representatives,who have been active here in interviews with Klansmen and
their associates.

years of age and CAPT.MARLEY was two years her senior when he died a few years

years ago last Friday (January 27,1897,being the eventful day.)since MR.WILLIAM
TUCKER,JR.,claimed as his bride,MISS LELIA SCOTT,and to honor the occasion of
their twentieth anniversary,a large company of guests,the greater majority of
whom were those who witnessed the wedding ceremony-assembled in their lovely
home to rejoice in the good fortune which has spared them these many years,a
blessing to themselves,an honor to society,an inspiration to the young manhood
and womanhood of our fair little town,and a king and queen indeed in their home

reassigned to the Philippine Islands to add to some 1,000 hours he has already
logged as rig and drop chief in transporting and parachuting supplies into Viet
Nam.His family will join him there soon for a three year stay.Tech.Sgt.WEBB is

ill in Methodist Hospital,Memphis,with injuries following a wreck when a train
hit his car in Jonesboro.  DENNIS WILLIAMS,12-year-old son of MR.& MRS.EVERETT
WILLIAMS,of Halls,fell while riding a bicycle Sunday and broke his left wrist.He
was carried to Parkview Hospital.

COURT--JUDGE MARK A.WALKER,this week imposed penitentiary sentences on a
Unionville couple charged in numerous thefts in this county.IRA LEE LOVELL was
given three to five years on each of eight burglary counts,sentences running
concurrently.His wife,MARY LOVELL,received concurrent sentences of one to three
years on each of three counts of receiving stolen property of under $100 value.

LAUDERDALE COUNTY ENTERPRISE RIPLEY,TENNESSEE   FRIDAY  FEBRUARY 11,1966 RIPLEY
THEATRE AND CAFE OWNER--AUBREY WEBB,charged with murder and carrying a pistol
after the fatal shooting of BILLY JOE SANDERS,29,in The Pit on South Main in
Ripley December 11th,went before the grand jury Monday.The jury refused a True
Bill on the murder charge,but indicted WEBB for carrying a pistol.The pistol
charge was then retired from the docket,with leave to reinstate,on a motion of
Attorney General WILL TERRY ABERNATHY.

DAMAGES GIVEN--Circuit Court jury awards totaling $1,900 against WILLIAM
HURT,Fort Pillow State Prison Farm wardon and his son,PHIL HURT,were given GUS
HARGETT,Sr.,and GUS,Jr.,Wednesday in a damage suit arising from a collision last
fall on Highway 51 South in Ripley.BILL DODSON and Humko Co.,were given not
guilty verdict.

OLDEST DIES--Born a slave 118 years ago,JOE SIMMS,of Bluff City,for 60 years a
janitor at Steed College in Johnson,City and Sullins College in Bristol,died
last week as the second oldest Social Security registrant__after CHARLIE
SMITH,of Polk City,Fla.,124 years.

1,Gates,entered Parkview Hospital,Dyersburg,last Friday for treatment for broken
ribs and other injuries following a fall from a house.  MRS.J.L.CONNELL,of
Halls,is a patient in Parkview Hospital,Dyersburg,following a fall in her home
Sunday.She is reported to have suffered a broken pelvis.

Hospital.MRS.VAUGHN died Sunday night.Services were in Memphis Tuesday with
burial at 2 p.m. in Eureka Cemetery in Forked Deer.MRS.VAUGHN is the mother of

Church.The impressive ceremony was said by the Rev.Mr.WHITE.The bride is the
daughter of MR.& MRS.CLARENCE MITCHELL,Rt.1,Ripley,He is the son of MRS.SUSIE
mCKINNEY,of Memphis.Masses of greenery and floor baskets of white gladioli
decorated the sanctuary of the church.the bride wore a navy dress with winter
white trim and accessories.On her head was a black net whimsey and her bouquet
was of white orchids.

MOROCCO DUTY ENDED--ETN-3 DANNY M.SAVAGE,who has just completed 18 months at the
U.S.Naval Communications Station in Sidi Tahis,Morocco,left Sunday for his new
assignment aboard the USS Wright,a naval communications ship with homeport in
Norfolk,Va.,after having spent three weeks with his mother,MRS.IRENE SAVAGE near
Ripley.

DIES IN MEMPHIS--A two pound daughter of Mr.& Mrs.PERCY POOL,of Halls died
Saturday in LeBonheur Hospital,Memphis,hours after her father and uncle had
rushed from here there with the help of a police escort,shortly after she was
born in Lauderdale County Clinic in Ripley.TIFFORD BROWN, POOL's brother-in-
law,was stopped Saturday as he sped through Memphis at 60 miles per hour en
route to the hospital.Police provided an escort the rest of the way.The baby was
placed in an incubator,but all efforts to save her failed.

AND RUN DRIVER--JAMES A.CAMPBELL,25,Rt.1,Halls,an employee of Custon-Craft
Mfg.Co.,in Halls,was killed about 6 p.m. Saturday when struck by a hit and run
driver on Highway 51 near the north city limits of Covington,according to chief
deputy sheriff PRESTON SHANKLE. CLYDE PUTNAM,35,Covington indudtrial worker and
G.T.STEGALL,36,Mason mechanic,were charged with murder Monday and released uner
$1,250 bonds.PUTNAM is alleged to have been the driver and STEGALL a passenger
in the car that struck CAMPBELL,as he was standing beside a car in which he had
been a passenger before the car ran out of gas.CAMPBELL was talking to MISS JEAN
WATTS,of Halls,who was in the car,while their companions,WM.PUCKETT,of Halls and
BILL HIPPS,of Dyersburg had gone for gas.

Hospital Monday after treatment of injuries in an auto accident last Thursday at
Nankipoo.His car was involved in an accident with one reported to have been
driven by THOMAS WAGNER,of Ripley,and overturned two or three times.

Maintenance Squardon 14,a unit of the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing,at the Marine
Corps Air Station,Cherry Point,NC. A graduate of Ripley High School,NELSON
entered the service in April,1960.

LOCALS--A surprise pink shower was given MRS.DEWITT TAYLOR Sat.honoring her twin
daughters,GLENDA and LINDA.The Women's Missionary Society of Ashport Baptist
Church were hostesses for the event in the home of the twins'
grandmother,MRS.BESSIE TAYLOR.

AND PERSONAL--WAYNE SIDES,son of MR.& MRS.BRYANT SIDES,has completed Army basic
training at Ft.Gordon,Ga.,and is spending two weeks here.  MRS.PARKS
W.WALKER,the former HELEN CLAIRE PIERCE,will be a bridesmaid in the wedding of
her brother,CLIFFORD DAVIS PIERCE,JR.,and MUSS MARGET ANN
TRUMBULL,Saturday,April 16th at St.Mary's Episcopal Cathedral,Memphis.  MR.&
MRS.ALLEN CHAMBERS visited their son,ALLEN CHAMBERS,in Madison County Hospital
in Jackson Sunday,MR.CHAMBERS had reentered the hospital for additional surgery
for injuries received in an auto accident some time ago.

Conner, MR.& MRS.WHITT SAVAGE and son,BILLY JOE,of Central and MR.& MRS.LLOYD
HATNES,of Mary's Chapel,visited MRS.LETTIE HATNES Saturday.

ENTERING NURSING FACILITY--WALTER BRIGGS was the first patient admitted to
Lauderdale County's nursing home,transfering from the Chandler Nursing Home at
Lightfoot and MRS.ANNIE WILSON of Henning was the second.

LOCALS--MR.& MRS.HARVEY MARLOW returned to their home in Inster,Mich.,Monday
after spending a week with her mother,MRS.C.E.BICKERS,and
grandmother,MRS.E.E.DRUMWRIGHT in the home of MR.& MRS.JIM WORLDS.  PAUL
STOKES,who suffered a heart attack Sunday morning is in Lauderdale Co. Hospital.

LOCALS--The K.O.BOGUE,JR.,residence was completely destroyed by fire about 6
p.m.Wednesday of last week.Some furniture was saved.

DEER LOCALS--MR.& MRS.DEWEY DANIELS were in Paris Tuesday of last week to see
their new great-granddaughter, TRACEY LYNN,daughter of MR.& MRS.DAVID
VICKERY.Also visiing there was MRS.MAXINE HAY and son,of Olando,FL.MRS.HAY had
come especially to see her new granddaughter.MRS.VICKERY was the former CAROL
HAY.
