  FROST

Robert F. Frost died on Feb. 25, 2003 at the Veterans Hospital in
Washington, D.C. Mr. Frost was born on March 24, 1917 in Youngstown, Ohio
to Harlan James Frost and Margaret (Mae) Getty Frost. The family moved to
Brookville, in 1931. Mr. Frost served in the United States Marine Corps
for more than 27 years, and retired from military service in 1970 with the
rank of sergeant. During his military career, he served in World War II,
the Korean War, and the War of Vietnam. Mr. Frost also spent several years
as an evangelist, preaching in churches in western Pennsylvania and eastern
Ohio. Following his retirement from the Marine Corps, he lived in the
areas of Somerset and Bedford, where he ministered to youth in various
Christian Missionary Alliance churches in Somerset County and much of
western Pennsylvania. He was an avid sports fan and was involved with the
teams at Rockwood, Somerset, and Shanksville schools. Mr. Frost touched
the lives of many youth and adults for Jesus Christ for over 50 years.
Since 1999, he resided at the U.S. Soldiers and Airmen Retirement Home in
Washington, D.C. He is survived by his sons Robert and Ronnie, three
grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, his brother Raymond, nieces,
nephews, and many friends whom he regarded as family. He was preceded in
death by his parents and by his brother Jim (who died in Boston Mass. in
2000), his brother Ed (who died in 1928 at the age of 13), his brother Bill
(who was killed in battle in 1943 on Luzon, Philippine Islands), and by his
sister Ruth (who died in 1978). His marriage to Edith Hess ended in
divorce. A memorial service in celebration of Mr. Frost's life will be
held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 8, at the Christian Missionary & Alliance
Church in Somerset. Pastors sharing in the memorial service include the
Rev. James Vandervort of the Somerset Alliance Church, the Rev. Malvin
Dolby, a retired Alliance pastor, and the Rev. Patrick Walsh of the
Rockwood Alliance Church. Mr. Frost will be buried in Bethel Cemetery in
Brookville. Donations can be made in Mr. Frost's name to The Gideons
  International for Bible distribution.
