APPLICATION FOR MARRIAGE
STATE OF PENNSYLVANIA
 
DELAWARE COUNTY, Personally appeared IRA J. MacNAMEE who hereby requests 
the Clerk of the Orphans' Court, for the said County, to issue a License 
for the Marriage of HIMSELF to ETHEL M. GEISEL and who, being duly 
AFFIRMED according to law, dolt depose and say: that HE was born in 
DELAWARE on the 2nd of JULY A.D. 1876; that he resides at CHESTER; 
occupation CONDUCTOR; that he is NOT related by blood or marriage to the 
person he desires to marry; that he has NOT been married before.
 
that ETHEL M. GEISEL whom HE is about to marry, was born in PHILA on the 
22nd day of JANUARY A.D. 1888; that she resides at CHESTER; occupation 
STENOGRAPHER; that she has NOT been married before.

    I, MARY H. YOUNG residing at CHESTER do hereby certify that I am 
the MOTHER of ETHEL M GEISEL residing a CHESTER, who is now 17 years of age.
    That I have been informed of the intended marriage of my said 
DAUGHTER to IRA J. MacNAMEE and hereby give my consent to said marriage.

MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE
 
I, REV. HENRY ALFKE hereby certify that on the, NINETEENTH day of JULY 
1905, at CHESTER PA. IRA J. MacNAMEE and ETHEL M. GEISEL, were by me 
united in marriage, in accordance with License issued by the Clerk 
of the Orphans' Court of Delaware County, Pennsylvania, numbered 10653.

Note: 
    Miss ETHEL M. GEISEL was the youngest daughter of FRANKLIN GEISEL 
and MARY HOOPES BAILY. On 5 June 1888, FRANK GEISEL died of typhoid 
fever, leaving his young widow Mary Hoopes BAILY (d/o John H. BAILY 
& Martha J. LAWTON), with four small children: FRANK, Jr.; LAWTON B.; 
MABEL L.; and ETHEL M. GEISEL.  Widow Mary Hoopes (nee BAILY) GEISEL, 
married a second time to Dr. EDWARD J. YOUNG, a veterinarian in Chester 
City; three children: MILDRED M.; EDWARD EARL; and RUTH YOUNG.
 
    HENRY ALFKE, was the minister at the North Chester Baptist Church, 
2331 Providence Avenue, Chester City, Delaware County, Pennsylvania, 
from 21 December 1902 to 11 April 1906.
