	Mrs. Josephine G. Hewitt, the widow of David Hewitt, died last night at her
home at 319 East Pine St., Clearfield.  She was 80 years of age.
	Mrs. Hewitt was born Aug. 26, 1880 at Morrisdale, the daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Gearhart.
	She is survived by one son, S/Sgt. W. B. Hewitt, stationed in England; and
five daughters: Mrs. David (Emma) French, Clearfield; Mrs. W. H. (Pauline)
Garman, Juniata; Mrs. L. W. (Zana) Barr, Woodland; Mrs. E. C. (Ruth)
Mahaffey, Mahaffey; and Blanche Hewitt, New York City.
	She also leaves 28 grandchildren.
	Friends may call at the Bennett Funeral Home at Clearfield after 7 p.m.
Sunday.  Other funeral arrangements have not been completed and will be
published later.

page 6:  Woodland- Funeral services for Daniel L. Hewitt, 77, of Woodland,
who died in the Clearfield Hospital Monday at 5 a.m. following an extended
illness, will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Leavy Funeral Home,
Clearfield.  The Rev. C. Mitchell Hammond will officiate.  Interment will
follow in Crown Crest Memorial Park at Hyde.
	Born in New York State Jan. 22, 1882, he was the son of the late John and
Susan (Leaper) Hewitt and attended the Woodland Methodist Church.
	Mr. Hewitt was employed as a clay miner by Harbison-Walker Refractories at
lower - Woodland having completed 35 years of service before retiring in 1948.
	Surviving are two children: Mrs. Leona Cartwright, Woodland; Gordon Hewitt,
Curwensville; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one brother
and a sister: Charles Hewitt, Coalport; and Bertha Emigh, Morrisdale.

page 1: 
	At 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 23, cars operated by William Hewitt of 1103
Dorey street and R. Bruce Smay of Clearfield, R.D. 1, both traveling west on
Route 322 in East End, came together when Hewitt pulled to the left of the
road before making a right turn and the Smay machine struck the Hewitt car in
the rear.  Damages were estimated at $150, but there were no injuries.

	Philipsburg- Mrs. Mabel Hewitt, 71, a resident of Philipsburg, died at 8
p.m., Thursday at Morrisdale.
	She was born at Madera, May 31, 1889, a daughter of the late Henry and
Margaret Hoover Mains.
	She was a member of the First Church of God in Christ of Philipsburg.
	Her husband, William E. Hewitt preceded her in death, Jan. 16, 1952.
	Surviving are two sons and a daughter: Elden, Morrisdale; John, Buffalo,
N.Y., and Mrs. Raymond (Thelma) Schnarrs of Philipsburg.  Ten grandchildren
and eight great-grandchildren also survive.
	Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. from the Flegal-Weaver
Funeral Home at Morrisdale with the Rev. Orin Remsnyder officiating. 
Interment will follow in the Emigh Cemetery at Morrisdale.
	Friends will be received at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m. and
tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and until time of services on Monday.

	Winburne Man Charged With Traffic Violation
	State Police reported here today tha David Black of Winburne was held on
charges of failing to yield the right-of-way after his car and one operated
by Ed Emigh of Morrisdale came together at an intersection on the Winburne-
Munson road about 4:10 p.m. Wednesday.
	Mrs. Bertha Emigh received a laceration of the right arm in the crash and
damages to the cars was estimated at $50.

	Morrisdale- Mrs. Bertha Ann Emigh, 80-year-old Morrisdale resident, died
Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock in the Phillipsburg State General Hospital.
	A daughter of John and Susan (Leaper) Hewitt, she was born in New York City
Sept. 26, 1886.  She is survived by the following two sons and two daughters:
	Wilbur Emigh and Mrs. Orville (Helen) Pierce, Morrisdale; Mrs. Leonard
(Madeline) Heathcote, Hawk Run; and Herbert Emigh, Lanse.  Six grandchildren,
six great-grandchildren, and a brother, Charles Hewitt of Coalport, also
survive.  Her husband, Edward James Emigh, died April 26, 1965.
	Friends will be received in the James W. Weaver Funeral Home this evening
from 7 to 9 o'clock, Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and Wednesday until 2
p.m. when services will be conducted by the Rev. Francis Geiger.  Interment
will be in the Grandview Cemetery at Morrisdale.

	Obituary taken from the "Johnstown Daily Tribune" (Johnstown, PA newspaper)
, Thursday, June 29, 1944:
		Mrs. Charles Richardson
	Portage-Mrs. Ruth (Hewitt) Richardson, 55, wife of Charles Richardson of
Portage, died yesterday at Winber Hospital after an illness of several
months.  She was the daughter of John and Susan (Leiper) Hewitt and was born
in Morrisdale on June 16, 1889.  Surviving are her husband and six children-
Russell, Nanty Glo; Harold, Revloc; Pfc. David, with the army in Florida ;
Pvt. Elmer, with the army in Washington, and Lee and Edna, both at home.  Six
grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Trinity Evangelical Church by Rev.
C.T. Miller at a time to be set later.  Internment will be in Forest Lawn
Memorial Park, near Johnstown, under the direction of the Beck Funeral Home.

9:15 a.m. Aug. 24, 1949, in home.  Born July 12, 1889, in Madera, son of
William and Rachel (Greenaway) Richardson .  Married Mae Morgan Aug 18, 1945.
Resident of Portage 20 years.  Employed by C.A. Hughes & Company Mines,
Benscreek, for past seven years.  Member of Church of Nazarene.  Leaves Widow
and five children-Harold and David, both of Ebensburg; Russell, Nanty Glo;
Edna, Sabinsville, and Elmer, Pittsburgh; these step-children: Charles
Morgan, Mrs. Alec Long and Mrs. Fred Kleman, all of Portage, and Mrs. Walter
Simpson, Sparrows Point, Md.  Brother of William, Isaac, Summerfield and
James all of Portage; Benjamine and Samuel, both of Lewistown, and John ,

Hewitt just recently wrote his parents of his safe arrival in Northern
Ireland.  Pvt. William R. Hewitt is stationed at Camp Wolters, Texas, and
