FORMER TEACHER DIES AT CALIFORNIA HOME

  A telegram was received yesterday by Mrs. P. D. Aurandt of 1226 
Eighteenth avenue announcing the death of her sister, Mrs. Nettie Maus 
Thompson, at 4  o'clock Tuesday morning at her home in Fairfield, 
Calif.  Mrs. Thompson was a native of Hollidaysburg where she had been 
identified with public schools for many years.
  During Mrs. Thompson's long service as a teacher at Hollidaysburg 
hundreds now long since grown to manhood and womanhood came under her 
tutelage and she enjoyed a very wide acquaintance. She went to 
California from Hollidaysburg about seven years ago.
  Mrs. Thompson was a lifelong member of the Methodist church and for 
many years was a teacher in the Sunday school.  She is survived by two 
sisters, Miss Rebecca Maus of  Fairfield, Calif., and Mrs. P. D. 
Aurandt of this city, and three brothers, Silas Maus of  Fairfield,  
George Maus of this city and Wesley Maus of Juniata.
  Burial was made at Fairfield today.

Contributors note: Annette E. Maus was born about 1874, the daughter of 
Henry Maus and Susan Charles.  She was married to Thomas W. Thompson, 
born about 1862 in Hollidaysburg, son of James Edward Thompson, born 24 
Sep 1839, and unknown spouse.  James was divorced through desertion and 
re-married Elizabeth "Lizzie" Winters.
