ERNEST J. ANDERSON
Mr. Anderson, 93, of 617 W. 13th St., Tyrone, died at 11:51 p.m. Thursday,
Jan. 30, 1992, at Mercy Hospital, following an extended illness.
Mr. Anderson retired as superintendent from Tyrone Borough Water Department in
1964, after 42 years' service.
He was born Jan. 27, 1899, in Osceola Mills, the son of Geodfried and Jenny E.
(Johnson) Anderson. He married Ophelia Sheeder on Aug. 3, 1928, in Grove City.
Surviving are his wife, three daughters: Eleanor Manges of Turnersville,
N.J., Joyce Hewel of Tipton and Gloria Wintjen of Glassboro, N.J.; seven
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Mr. Anderson was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Tyrone.
He was also a member of Tyrone Elks, Loyal Order of Moose, Tyrone, where he
served as past governor and recipient of the Pilgrim Degree, and the highest
honor bestowed by the Moose Lodge; Grand Noble Varmint of the Bucky Fisher
Chapter of the Order of the Groundhog, and was a member and past president of
Citizens Fire Company, Tyrone.
There will be no visitation.

BENTON, Iva W. (WRIGHT), 1992
IVA W. BENTON
Mrs. Benton, 92, formerly of Queen, died Sunday, July 19, 1992, at Garvey
Manor, Hollidaysburg, following an extended illness.
She was born May 21, 1900, in Queen, the daughter of Jeremiah and Ellen
(Claar) Wright. She married William H. Benton on April 1, 1920, in Cumberland,
Md. He died Oct. 20, 1977.
Surviving are four children: C. Reed and Rita Lingenfelter of East Freedom RD
1, Patty Lou Killian of Olympia, Wash., and Nancy Kufert of Port Orange, Fla.;
10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
A son, Charles Fern, was killed in action during World War II.
Mrs. Benton attended Altoona Bible Church.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Marvin C.
Leslie Funeral Home, Claysburg.
Interment at Alto-Reste Park.
Other Survivor:
Iva W. Benton, formerly of Queen, who died Sunday, July 19, is also survived
by a granddaughter, Valerie Weyant of Port Orange, Fla., who was raised in the
home.

WILLIAM ARDELL CONWAY
William Ardell Conway, 84, Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg, formerly of
Hollidaysburg and Gallitzin, died Monday, March 1, 1999, at the home.
He was born Aug. 4, 1914, in Dean, the son of the late Oscar and Mary (Cox)
Conway. He was twice married, first to Dora L. Nelson. She preceded him in
death. He then married Mary Ann Lewis. She also preceded him in death.
Mr. Conway worked as a carpenter for Conrail.
He was a 1934 graduate of Gallitzin High School.
Mr. Conway was a Navy veteran of World War II.
He was a member of Hollidaysburg American Legion and served as a volunteer at
the Lutheran Home.
Surviving are a stepson, T.J. Shoemaker; four brothers: Clyde of Bradenton
Fla., Robert of West Orange, N.J., James of Altoona and Raymond of Conemaugh;
and two step grandchildren.
There will be no viewing. Arrangements by Lenz-Gibbons Funeral Home,
Gallitzin.
CONWAY-Privet committal services for William Ardell Conway will be held at the
convenience of the family. Mr. Conway is also survived by grandchildren,
Victoria and McKenzia Borden, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded
in death by brothers: Clair, Roy and Leo; and sisters: Rita Gates and Grace
Howell.

CUNNINGHAM, Howard C., 1981
HOWARD C. CUNNINGHAM
87, of Brush Valley, died Monday, Nov. 2, 1981 at Cameron Manor, Indiana.
A son of William C. and Annie Stiltz Cunningham, he was born July 14, 1894 in
Brushvalley Township, Indiana County.
Mr. Cunningham was a member of Bethel United Presbyterian Church, Clyde. He
was a member and former president of the Bethel United Presbyterian Cemetery
Association for many years.
Mr. Cunningham also was a member of Benjamin Franklin Lodge 753, F&AM,
Coudersport Consistory, Scottish Rite Bodies, Brush Valley Grange, Pomona
Grange, IOOF, and the Indiana County Historical and Genealogical Society. He
had been employed by the Pennsylvania Department of Highways and formerly was a
jury commissioner for Indiana County.
Surviving are his sister, Mrs. Ida C. Ullery, Johnstown, and several nieces
and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Liggett Cunningham, whom he
married Aug. 18, 1925, one sister, Elsie C. Howden; and two brothers, Walter T.
and Leroy S. Cunningham.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in the Bower-Askew
Funeral Home, Homer City, where Masonic services will be held at 7 p.m.
Wednesday. Services will be conducted in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Thursday,
with the Rev. Paul R. Beatty officiating. Interment will be in Bethel United
Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

CARL L. "TICK" DeVINNEY, SR.
78, 35 Maple Ave., Blairsville, died Wednesday, Sept. 16, 1981, in the Latrobe
Area Hospital, Latrobe.
The son of Albert and Margaret Overdorff DeVinney, he was born Feb. 14, 1903,
in Blairsville.
Mr. DeVinney was formerly employed by the Blairsville-Saltsburg School
District. He had lived all his life in Blairsville.
Mr. and Mrs. DeVinney had celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary on June
30.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth F. Goodlin DeVinney; two sons, Carl L. Jr.,
Blairsville; John R., Miami, Fla.; one daughter, Mrs. Raymond (Ruth Ann) Cappo,
Blairsville; four grandchildren; one sister, Christine Patterson, Blairsville.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Wanda.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. today and from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Friday in the Richard L. Shoemaker Funeral Home, Blairsville, where a service
will be held in the chapel at 11 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Ernest Ferguson will
officiate and interment will follow in Blairsville Cemetery.

FRANCIS A. DRISKEL
Francis A. "Buck" Driskel, 65, Loretto, died early Tuesday morning, Oct. 8,
1996, at home.
He was born Nov. 21, 1930, in Loretto, the son of the late Michael and Annie
(Bymes) Driskel. He married Geraldine Strohmier Sept. 25, 1957, in Chest
Springs.
Mr. Driskel was a member of St. Monica's Catholic Church, Chest Springs.
He had worked for the Lincoln-Mercury dealership in Ebensburg from 1950-52,
Loretto Service Center from 1954-57 and the Main Street Garage, Carrolltown,
from 1967-71.
He owned and operated Driskel Repair Shop, Chest Springs, from 1971-81, and
retired from Cooney Brothers Coal Co., Cresson, Jan. 1, 1996, after 15 years of
service.
Mr. Driskel was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was a member of the Loretto American Legion and Chest Springs Sportsmen.
Surviving are his wife; six daughters: Christine, Rose Storm, Theresa Kelly,
Mary Wyland, Renee Pfister and Rhonda; three sons: Joseph, James and Mark; two
sisters: Louise Smithbower of Ebensburg RD and Helen McMullen of Loretto; and
seven grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Thursday at Gibbons Funeral Home, Ashville.

Thursday at Gibbons Funeral Home, Ashville, where a scriptural wake service will
be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday. Military rites in charge of Loretto American
Legion and other local military organizations. Preceded in death by brothers:
Michael Jr., Regis, killed in action during World War II, and Russell, who died
April 11, 1996; and a sister, Catherine Schenk. Surviving are sons-in-law:
Dennis Storm, Gene Kelly, Ronald Wyland and Edward Pfister; daughters-in-law:
Donna (Lieb) Driskel, Cecilia (Strittmatter) Driskel and Michele (Bender)
Driskel; and grandchildren: Dwayne and Brent Hoover, Garret Storm, Lindsey and
Ashley Kelly, and Kaitlyn and Lauren Wyland.

76, Shelocta RD 1, died Tuesday, Sept. 15, 1981, at the home of her daughter.
The daughter of Charles Herbert and Nettie Jewart Fleming, she was born June
2, 1905, in Plumcreek Township, Armstrong County.
Mrs. Fleming was a member of the Plumcreek Church of the Brethren and the
Elderton Senior Citizens.
She had been a homemaker.
Surviving are three daughters: Mabel M. Fleming, Shelocta RD 1; Mazie
Vallies, Shelocta RD 3; Nancy E. Snyder, Shelocta RD 1; two sons, Samuel D.,
Batavia, N.Y.; Howard, Shelocta RD 1; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Roy
(Mabel) Schall, Kittanning RD 1; Mrs. Harry (Frances) Schall, Apollo; one
brother, Dr. William H. Fleming, Butler.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Mary and a brother Grant.
Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday,
the time of service in the Clarence P. Clark Funeral Home, Elderton. The Rev.
Luke Bowser Jr. will officiate and interment will be made in the Elderton
Cemetery, Elderton.

81, formerly of Connor Towers, Johnstown, died Nov. 1, 1981, at Redstone
Presbyterian Manor, Greensburg.
A daughter of David and Margaret Cooper Barnes, she was born Jan. 24, 1900, in
Williamstown, W. Va.
Mrs. Fox was a life member of the Armagh-Seward United Presbyterian Church and
the church Bible study group.
Surviving are her husband, Albert, whom she married 63 years ago; and several
nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and six sisters.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today (Tuesday) at the Kenneth
N. Gray Funeral Home, Seward, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday,
The Rev. William Jacobs will officiate and interment will be in Armagh Cemetery.

76, of 6730 McPherson Blvd., Pittsburgh, formerly of the Marion Center area,
died Tuesday, Sept. 15, 1981, at Negley House, Pittsburgh.
A son of James Wilmer and Mary Catherine Steffy Fulmer, he was born Oct. 28,
1904, in Rayne Twp., Indiana County.
Mr. Fulmer was a member of St. Andrews Lutheran Church of Pittsburgh, F&AM
Milnor Lodge 287, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 174 of Indiana, and the Carpenters
Union Local 165 of Pittsburgh.
He had lived in the Marion Center area until 1947 when he moved to his present
address in Pittsburgh.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret Elizabeth Bloom Fulmer; two sons: James T.,
Oakland, N.J. and Kenneth S., Home RD 1; two daughters: Mrs. James D. (Norma)
Lyle, Miami, Fla., and Mrs. Albert L. (Irene) Brown, Simpsonville, S.C.; 12
grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; a brother, Richard E. Fulmer, Marion
Center; a sister, Mrs. Steele (Margaret) Thompson, Marion Center RD1.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, at Robinson
Lytle's, Indiana, where services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. The Rev. Martin

94, of Homer City RD 2, died Monday, Nov. 2, 1981 in Indiana Hospital.
A daughter of John and Ella Barnett Smith, she was born Aug. 20, 1887 in
Jefferson County.
Mrs. Gressley was a member of Brush Valley United Methodist Church and its
Women's Missionary Society. She had lived most of her life in the Brush Valley
area.
Surviving are her husband, Clayton A. Gressley; two sons: J. Smith Gressley,
Swissvale, and Beryl Gressley, Homer City RD 2, one daughter, Mrs. George
(Andree) Staruch, Homer City RD 2; four-grandchildren and eight great-
grandchildren; one brother, Otto Smith, Brewster, N.Y.; two sisters; Mrs. Fannie
Mohney, Valier, and Mrs. Emma Gaul, Phoenix, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by six brothers and one sister.
Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Wednesday at Robinson-Lytle's, Indiana, where services will be held at 11 a.m.
Thursday, Nov. 5 with the Rev. James H. Ritchie Jr. officiating. Interment will
be in the Brush Valley Untied Presbyterian Cemetery.

JOSEPH HOMSEY
Mr. Homsey, 81, of Box 232, Williamsburg RD 1, died at 2 a.m., today, Oct. 15,
1982, in Altoona Hospital, following an extended illness.
Mr. Homsey retired as a truck driver from the Pennsylvania Railroad, after 15
years' service.
He was born Dec. 6, 1900, in Ganister, Williamsburg RD 1, the son of Joseph
and Anna (Horanich) Pedani, and Sept. 17, 1921, in Williamsburg, married Pauline
M. Wapner.
Surviving are his wife, seven children: Joseph of Bellwood, Benjamin of
Phoenix, Ariz., Michael of Mechanicsburg, Mrs. Pauline Stewart of Exton, Mrs.
Mary MacKie of Titusville, Mrs. Helen Holovich and Mrs. Ann Skvir of
Williamsburg; 17 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are a sister and three brothers: Mrs. Elsie Resetar of
Youngstown, O., John of Altoona, Michael of Baltimore, Md., and George of
Williamsburg. A sister, Mrs. Mary Popovec died in August.
Mr. Homsey was a member of St. Mary's Holy Assumption Orthodox Church,
Williamsburg Rd, where he had been custodian for many years and was president of
the church council.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday in the Bolger-
Friedline Funeral Home, Williamsburg.

BETTY MAE JOHNSON
Mrs. Johnson, 51, of 1410 5th Ave., Juniata, died at 7 a.m. today, Oct. 15,
1982, in Altoona Hospital, after a brief illness.
Mrs. Johnson was employed as a licensed practical nurse at Valley View Home.
She was born Dec. 2, 1930, in Altoona, the daughter of Harry and Martha
(Bradfield) Nolder.
Surviving are five children: Carey and Mrs. Jean Ann Geist of Altoona, Thomas
of Tyrone, Mrs. Judith Barefoot of San Diego, Calif., and Donald of Fairfax,
Va.; and 15 grandchildren.
Also surviving are three brothers and a sister: William of Pittsburgh,
Herbert of Tyrone, Rev. Donald of York and Mrs. Carol Hiquet of Hopewell.
Mrs. Johnson attended Riggles Gap Bible Church.
She was a February 1982 graduate of Altoona Vo-Tech School of Nursing.
Friends will be received from noon to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 9 to 10
a.m. Monday in the Mauk & Yates Funeral Home. Interment in Oakridge Cemetery.

KELLY, Erma Leone (HOLLMAN), 1999
ERMA LEONE KELLY
Mrs. Erma Leone Kelly, 90, Epworth Manor, Tyrone, formerly of 817 Park Ave.,
Tyrone, died Monday morning, March 1, 1999, at the manor.
She was born Aug. 30, 1908, in Grampian, the daughter of the late William
Henry and Margaret Elizabeth (Schrager) Hollman. She married Alfred K. Kelly
Oct. 11, 1924, in Altoona. He died Aug. 29, 1990.
Mrs. Kelly was a member of Tyrone First Presbyterian Church where she served
as an elder and a deacon. She was a member of the Hiltner Bible class, the
Mariners and the Presbyterian Women.
She was employed as a salesclerk at the former Lugg and Edmonds Department
Store, Tyrone, for several years.
Surviving are two sons: K. Keith of Tyrone and John A. of Lady Lake, Fla.;
five grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a
daughter, Peggy.
There will be no viewing. Arrangements by Derman Funeral Home, Tyrone.

HARRY L. KIDWELL
Mr. Kidwell, 89, of Blandburg died this morning, Nov. 16, 1983, in Altoona VA
Medical Center.
Mr. Kidwell retired as owner and operator of the Gulf Service Station,
Blandburg, in 1969. He was also a carpenter and retired coalminer.
He was born Sept. 10, 1894, in Slanesville, W.Va., the son of James and Emma
(Kidwell) Kidwell, and May 28, 1917, in Altoona, married Elsie M. Long.
Surviving are his wife, four children: Jack R. of Baltimore, Md.; Harry L.
Jr. of East Lake, Ohio; Robert L. of Flinton and Faye Dodson of Hollidaysburg RD
1; 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Kidwell was a life member of the Coalport Lodge, F&AM, and Williamsburg
Consistory.
He was also charter member of the Paul Kuhn American Legion Post, Blandburg,
where he was a member for 64 years. He was also a member of Howard Gardner
Post, American Legion, Tyrone, and Veterans of World War I of the USA, Tyrone.
He was an Army veteran of World War I.
Mr. Kidwell was a charter member of Reade Township Fire and Ambulance Service.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Plass
Funeral Home, Glasgow, where Masonic services will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday.
Interment in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Glasgow, where the Howard Gardner Post,
American Legion, will conduct services.

Mrs. Krape, 64, of Levittown, formerly of Altoona, died Thursday, May 8, 1982,
in Lower Bucks Hospital, Bristol, following an extended illness.
She was born Feb. 9, 1918, in Altoona, the daughter of William and Clara
(Truman) Peterman, and Jan. 18, 1940, in Blair County, married Gerald Elwood
Krape, who died Dec. 5, 1977.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Doris J. Harvie of Levittown and three
grandchildren.
Also surviving are eight brothers and sisters: Mrs. Ruth Karlson, Mrs. Esther
Ramsey, Robert, Ralph, Paul and Harold, of Altoona, Mrs. Alta Shadel of
Harrisburg and Calvin of Hershey.
A brother, Ernest Q., died in 1981.
Mrs. Krape was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Bristol
Arrangements by Dunn Funeral Home, Langhorne.
KRAPE-Services for Margaret A. Krape, formerly of Altoona, will be held at 10
a.m. Tuesday in Calvary Baptist Church, Green Lane, Bristol. Interment in
Rosedale Memorial Park, Oakford. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made
to Calvary Baptist Church, P.O. Box 70, Bristol, Pa. 19007. Arrangements by

53, of Roosevelt Street, Brookville, died Monday, Nov. 2, 1981 in Brookville
Hospital.
A son of Lester and Daisy Shields Lockard, he was born Nov. 26, 1927 in
Dilltown.
Mr. Lockard was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, Brookville. He had
been employed by Byerly Tire, Brookville, since 1967.
During World War II, Mr. Lockard served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Surviving are his wife, Helen Temchulla Lockard, whom he married in 1950; four
daughters; Mrs. Karen Kern, Summerville RD 2; Patricia, Kathy and Roberta, all
at home; two grandchildren; and 10 brothers and sisters: Mrs. Maude McKee,
Rossiter RD 1; Lewis Lockard, Marion Center; Mrs. Maye Pearce and Fred Lockard,
both of Rossiter RD 1, Mrs. Leafie Isenberg, Mechanicsburg; Mrs. Wava Ferrara,
Anita; Clifford Lockard, Boswell; Mrs. Clarabelle Roush, Rossiter Rd 1; Mrs.
Marie Peace and Mrs. Betty Brown, both of Punxsutawney RD 2.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Friends will be received in the Galbraith Funeral Home, Brookville, after 7
p.m. today, all day Wednesday and until the hour of services at 1:30 p.m.
Thursday, Nov. 5. The Rev. Thomas E. Akester will officiate and interment will
be in St. John's Cemetery, Rose Township.

88, Kiski Township, Armstrong County, died Wednesday, Sept. 16, 1981, in
Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg.
The son of William and Mary Margaret Ridenour Martin, he was born June 7,
1893, in Kiski Township, Armstrong County.
Mr. Martin was of the Lutheran faith.
He was a retired coal miner.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Geiste Martin; six sons: Frank, Vandergrift;
John, Russell, James, David and Richard, all of Kiski Township; two daughters,
Margaret Silvis, Shelocta, and Mrs. Ken (Bonnie) Hilty, Kiski Township; 24
grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Carl, in 1973; four brothers and two
sisters.
Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. -4 p.m. and 7-9
p.m. Friday in the Daniel J. Yockey Funeral Home, 512 Indiana Ave., Avonmore,
where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Paul R. Nitz
officiating. Interment will follow in Spring Church Lutheran Cemetery, Kiski
Township.

78, Black Lick, formerly of North Seventh Street, Indiana, died Tuesday, Sept.
15, 1981, in the Indiana Hospital, Indiana.
The son of Frank B. and Wilda Kirkpatrick McKee, he was born July 30, 1903, in
Indiana.
Mr. McKee was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Indiana.
He was the owner-operator of McKee Photography Studio in Indiana for many
years. In recent years and until his retirement he was a steel worker with
Wheeling Steel.
Surviving are his wife, Alberta Hartness McKee, Bellaire, Ohio; one son,
Thomas, Martin's Ferry, Ohio; two daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Patricia Ann) Crane,
Bridgeport, Ohio; Mrs. Donald J. (Barbara L.) Ramsell, Homer City RD 3; seven
grandchildren; one brother, James, Pittsburgh.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Martha B. McKee, in 1979.
Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Robinson-Lytle's, Indiana,
where a service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, with the Rev.
Hartzell A. Michael officiating. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery.

MYLA MARGARET MILLER
Mrs. Miller, 65, of 322 W. 17th St., Tyrone, died at 1:15 p.m., Thursday, Oct.
14, 1982, in Tyrone Hospital, following a brief illness.
Mrs. Miller was employed at Fiesta Dairy Store, Tyrone, and previously was
employed at Chamberlain Rubber Company, Rochester, N.Y.
She was born May 3, 1917, in Tyrone, the daughter of John and Alice (Shingler)
Miller, and Feb. 12, 1936, in Tyrone, married Charles I. Miller, who died March
4, 1975.
Surviving are two daughters: Mrs. Gail Gurekovich and Mrs. Norma Medina of
Tyrone; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are a brother and a sister, Mrs. Arlene Rodgers of Tyrone and
William of Buffalo, N.Y.
Mrs. Miller was a member of the Church of the Brethren, Tyrone.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Derman
Funeral Home, Tyrone.
Interment in Baughman Cemetery, Snyder Township.

GEORGE E. MORLET
79, of Blairsville RD 4 (Sundial), died Thursday, Sept. 17, 1981, in the
Latrobe Area Hospital.
A son of the late Joseph Morlet and the late Valarie Morlet Calvert, he was
born April 1, 1902, in Belgium.
Mr. Morlet was a member of the Acacia Lodge No. 355, F&AM, Blairsville and the
Syria Shrine, Pittsburgh.
He was a retired road inspector for the Pennsylvania Department of
Transportation.
Surviving are his wife, the former Gladys Smith, a son, George E., Jr., of
Blairsville RD 4, one granddaughter, two great-grandchildren, also a brother,
Fred Calvert, of Arnold.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. this evening in the Ferguson-
Helm funeral Home, Blairsville, where services will be held Saturday, Sept., 19,
at 1:30 p.m., with the Rev. Dr. B. Tate Fulton, officiating. Interment will be
in the Blairsville Cemetery.

HARRY MUSSELMAN
Harry Musselman, 86, Claysburg RR 1, died early Tuesday morning, Oct. 8, 1996,
at Nason Hospital, Roaring Spring.
He was born April 7, 1910, in Klahr, the son of the late Archie C. and
Genervia (Dively) Musselman. He married Lucretia Claar Aug. 14, 1937, in
Cumberland, Md.
Mr. Musselman was a member of the Upper Claar Church of the Brethren,
Claysburg RR.
In 1975, he retired as a farmer and from the Claysburg-Kimmel School District,
where he had been a custodian and a school bus driver for nine years. He had
also been employed at Claar Brothers Sawmill and Sproul Lime and Stone for a
number of years.
Mr. Musselman was a baseball pitcher for Claysburg in the Blair County
Baseball League for a number of years. He was a Pennsylvania fire warden for 35
years and was a life member of the Smokey Run Rod and Gun Club, Claysburg RR 1.
Surviving are his wife; and a brother, Joseph of Claysburg RR 1.
MUSSELMAN-Services for Harry Musselman of Claysburg RR 1 will be held at 11 a.m.
Friday at Upper Claar Church of the Brethren by the Rev. George D. Ebersole.
Interment at church cemetery. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9
p.m. Thursday at Marvin C. Leslie Funeral Home, Claysburg, and 10 a.m. until the
time of services Friday at the church. He was preceded in death by a sister,
Mary Lingenfelter; and brothers: Ross, Grant and Paul.

85, of Saltsburg RD 3 (Newrytown) died Monday, Nov. 2, 1981 in Latrobe Area
Hospital.
A son of August and Ingrid Nelson Parson, he was born April 20, 1896 in
Dravosburg.
Mr. Parson, a veteran of World War I, was a member of the UMWA.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Helen Ashbaugh Parson; two daughters; Mrs. Evo
(Harriet) Corridoni, Newrytown, and Mrs. George (Carolyn) Terhorst, Gainesville,
Fla.; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Leonard,
Saltsburg, and Lloyd, Newrytown; one sister, Mrs. Ethel Gray, Newrytown.
He was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth, and one daughter, Nancy.
Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. today and from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Wednesday in the Joseph R. Hunter Funeral Home, Saltsburg, where services will
be held at 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. David L. Parker officiating.
Interment will be in Edgewood Cemetery, Saltsburg.

MRS. GRACE M. KLINGENSMITH SMELTZER
90, of Kittanning, RD 3, died Sunday, Nov. 4, 1981, in Armstrong County Health
Center, Kittanning.
A daughter of John and Lavinia Brown Klingensmith, she was born Oct. 27, 1891
near Dime in Armstrong County.
Mrs. Smeltzer was a homemaker. Prior to living in the Health Center, she had
resided with her daughter, Mrs. Ruth Yount, for 11 years.
Surviving are six sons and three daughters: Russell, New Brighton; R. Lester,
Leechburg; Kenneth, Kittanning RD 1; Raymond, Monroeville; John, Kittanning RD
1; Charles, Kittanning; Mrs. Lawrence (Ruth) Yount, Kittanning RD 5; Mrs.
Delbert (Iva) Kaufman, Monroeville; and Lucy Polensky, Kittanning.
Also surviving are 19 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, one great-great-
granddaughter; and a sister, Cevillo King, Vandergrift.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard S. Smeltzer in 1962, and by
one son.
The Clarence P. Clark Funeral Home, Elderton, is in charge of funeral
arrangements. Interment will take place in Brick Church Cemetery, Burrell

71, Black Lick, died Tuesday, Sept. 15, 1981, in the Latrobe Area Hospital,
Latrobe.
The son of William and Mary Hibbard Thomas, he was born Feb. 16, 1910, in
Black Lick.
Mr. Thomas was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Black Lick.
Before his retirement in 1974, he had been employed by the R&P Coal Company.
For the past 35 years he had lived in Black Lick.
Surviving are five sons: Thomas W., West Middlesex; Daniel A., Millis, Mass.;
David A., Fayetteville, N.C.; Donald A. and Richard D., both of Blairsville; two
daughters, Ginger Thomas Biro, Indiana; Mrs. William (Marilyn) Hill, Hillside;
16 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, William Thomas and
Bruce Fraser, both of Sharon; one sister, Mrs. Charles (Florence) Vehner,
Sharpsville.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elytle Thomas, in November 1980; a
daughter, Roselyn.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in the Richard L.
Shoemaker Funeral Home, Blairsville, where a service will be held in the chapel
at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, with the Rev. J. Douglas Patterson officiating.

Mrs. Tippery, 96, of Box 87, Benford, RD5, formerly of Altoona, died at 2:25
p.m. Friday, May 7, 1982, in Allegheny Lutheran Home, Hollidaysburg, following
an extended illness.
She was born April 22, 1886, in Lincoln, Neb., the daughter of John M. and
Maria (Carver) Noble, and married Dr. Guy S. Tippery, who died Aug. 14, 1960.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Miriam W. Motto, with whom she had resided, and
a grandson.
Mrs. Tippery was a member of Christ Second Lutheran Church.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the E. Merrill
Smith Funeral Home, Broad Avenue.
