John Rotharmel Jr, son of John, one of the emigrant brothers, born in Berks
Co, Pa & married Catharina, daughter of Peter Markle of Christian.. According
to Kate Smith, he came out from Berks Co Pa & lived near Braddock, Allegheny
Co Pa. Their daughter Polly refused on her wedding day after the guests were
assembled to be married. He went to Western Indiana near Vincennes or
Washington, Knox or Daviess Co where Peter Rotharmel of Christian visited him
in 1806.
Joseph Rodarmel, Born in Penna. B. say 1762 ob 1843 aged 81. M.1. Miss
Van Kirk of KY. M.2. Mrs Nellie Trigger on Jany 11, 1809. (W.A.R. says Nancy
Trigger Nee Edwards She died 1849 or 1850. He was in later yrs an exhorter
in the Methodist Church.
Sarah Rodarmel, by 1st wife, m. Roseberry. Lived Pana, Ills. Left 4
children.

Asylum at Indianapolis. He married Lucy Offill who was born July 24, 1848.

niece of M.J. on Apr 30, 1901. She was born Mch 6, 1853 & died Nov 2, 1919.
No issue, but raised 8 orphan relatives.

He had been married before & had four children by his 1st wife. See Rose
Morehead's letter of Nov 23, 1921 filed, also letter of Jany 5, 1922 filed.
Amanda A. Rodarmel Born Feby 15, 1833 died Feby 8, 1872 aged
38 yrs 11 mos 24 days, a 1st cousin of Sam'l A Rodarmel. M. Asel Colbert who
was born Oct 26, 1823 & died Aug 31, 1907 when she was 19 say late in 1852 or
early 1853. See page 101. He was aged 83 yrs 10 mos 5 days.
A daughter [of John Rotharmel Jr & Catharina Markle] m. Robert Whitelock. Had
a grandson or gg son a Meth Preacher named Peck living at Bicknell, Ind 50 to
60 yrs ago. Probably went to Illinois.

1784. Died Aug 29, 1833 aged 49 yrs . He married June 16, 1811 Nancy Hanna.
Mary Rotharmel [daughter of John the emigrant] Born 1753 to 1755 m. in 1776
Casper Markle my gg father. She s'd she was one of ten children.

Joseph Rodarmel, was a very large, rawboned man near or fully 6 1/2 ft tall.
Wm A.R. thinks he was in the Revolutionary War. His first wife's brother (See
page 98 & Rose E. Morehead's letter of Nov 24, 1921) John Van Kirk was in the
Revy War.

a farm, aged 64 years. He served 1 yr & 2 weeks in the Civil War Knox Co
Court Records show 3 marriages viz:

m.2. Cinthia Reel on Aug 22, 1858 by John T. Martyn.
m.3. Nancy Ann Farris on Jany 7, 1864 by L.C. Roberts J.P. She died Feby 9,
1905. The widow of Chas Aden Rodarmel at North Vernon Ind says he was 1st
cousin of her "daddy in law, Friend S. Rodarmel".
