Complaint made before P. McKenna, Police Magistrate of Pittsburgh, by Elizabeth
W. Shaffer, mother of John F. Shafer (sic), a minor born Nov. 7, 1881. he will
not stay home, runs away and stays away at night. Refuses to go to school or
work. Address: Corner of Ridge & Middle St., 13th Ward.
Rudolph H. Shaffer resides at Ridge and Middle St., Pittsburgh; deposes
the same. John is frequently in bad company.
Mrs. John Anchor resides 9 Glosser Alley, 13th Ward; deposes the same.

Morganza:
John F. Schaefer, #5684, Division E. Parents divorced. Father, ____
Schaefer, somewhere in Indiana. Mother Mrs. Elizabeth Schaefer lived at Corner
of Ridge & Middle Sts., Pittsburgh; sells flowers for a living. Sent here for
running away from home, disobedience, etc.
Description: height, 5' 11 1/2"; weight, 107 pounds. Dark brown hair,
brown eyes, dark complexion. Scar from cut 1 1/2" long on right cheek; heart
pierced by dagger in India ink on right forearm near elbow.
Age: 18 on Nov. 7, 1879; received May 8, 1899. Born Penna. of German
parents. Lutheran. Father intemperate. Mother not intemperate, owns no
property. 2 older brothers, 1 older sister. Can read & write. Swears, lies,
does not steal. Uses tobacco, is intemperate. Has not been arrested before.
