Flood in Pittsburgh...do you recognize any of these people, or can you help date the photo?
Please write to Pamela Pyle, iwritewords@yahoo.com

Donated by Pamela Pyle, iwritewords@yahoo.com who says:
I inherited the original photograph from my grandmother (Jack's eldest daughter). I guestimate the photo was taken sometime in the 19-teens. I've tried to find someone who could date it more precisely by the movie advertised on the marquee, but have not met with any success in that regard.

My great-grandfather John Bruce "Jack" Priestley is the man sitting in the boat at the far right. I don't know who any of the other men are. Jack's wife, Tillie, was apparently quite popular at the Pittsburgh movie theaters. She played the piano to accompany the silent movies. Its very likely she
played at the Bijou. The couple divorced after a short marriage that produced two children. Tillie moved to Oklahoma where her father worked in the oil fields. Lost track of Jack after the divorce.
