  Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth
  of Pennsylvania.  In General Assembly met and is hereby enacted by the
  Authority of the Same.    
  
  
  2. An act for the relief of JOHN   HART.
  Whereas WILLIAM   WILLIAMS of the county of Mongtgomery, did by deed, dated
  26 Jul 1804, grant and convey to MICHAEL   BARRON a lot of land with
  appurtenances, situate in Plymouth twp., and Michael Barron by deed dated 26
  Apr 1805, grant and confirm unto John Hart, of Plymouth twp., 10 acres and 62
  perches of land, with appurtenances, being part of the land conveyed to him by
  William Williams, and it has since been discovered by John Hart, that Michael
  Barron was and still is an alien, and not able to hold and convey real
  estate, therefore, the deed of conveyance made and executed to John Hart, by
  Michael Barron, recorded at Norristown, in deed book #20, pg. 326, for a lot
  of land containing 10 acres and 62 perches, is hereby declared valid in law
  as if Michael Barron had been a citizen of the United States at the time of
  executing the deed of conveyance.   12 Jan 1807.
  
  3. An act to enable an administrator to convey a tract of land.
  Whereas, JOSEPH   DEVOSS and JOHN   DEVOSS as tenants in common, were seized
  and possessed of an undivided interest in a tract of land in East Huntingdon
  twp., Westmoreland county, containing 371 acres, but the legal title being
  vested in Joseph Devoss, a division was made at the instance of Joseph and
  John Devoss, and it was agreed that Joseph Devoss should execute a conveyance
  to John Devoss, for 184 acres for his equal share as soon as title from the
  commonwealth was completed but prior to that Joseph died intestate, and John
  having sold his interest to JACOB   HOUGH, therefore, NICHOLAS   SWOPE,
  administrator of Joseph Devoss, dec., is hereby authorized to make and
  execute a deed of conveyance to Jacob Hugh the assignee of John Devoss, for
  184 acres, agreeable to a division made by BENJAMIN   LODGE, late deputy
  surveyor of Westmoreland county.  12 Jan 1807.
  
  4. An act to enable PETER W.   GALLAUDET of the state of Connecticut to sell
  and convey one moiety of a plantation, messuage and lot.
  Whereas PETATIAH   WEBSTER, late of the city of Philadelphia, dec., was
  seized of a plantation, messuage and lot of ground, situate on the river
  Schuylkill, Passyunk twp., Philadelphia county, containing about 24 acres,
  and Pelatiah by his last will and testament, devised the same to his two
  grand daughters, MARIA   PERIT and REBECCA HUNT   PERIT, in equal moieties,
  and whereas Rebecca Hunt Perit, a minor under the age of 16, resides in the
  state of Connecticut, and the property is unproductive, for want of repairs,
  which the personal estate of Rebecca is incompetent to make, and her guardian
  Peter W. Gallaudet, of Connecticut, wishes to sell and convey the moiety
  belonging to the minor, therefore, it shall be lawful for Peter W. Gallaudet,
  to sell all the right and title of Rebecca Hunt Perit, in the undivided moiety
  of the plantation, messuage and lot of ground and convey the same to the
  purchaser, and put the money in a productive bond in her name.  12 Jan 1807.
  
  7. A act supplementary to an act directing the sale of lots of the town of
  Beaver.
  That JOHN   LAWRENCE of Beaver town, SAMUEL   WILSON and DAVID   POTTER of
  Beaver county, commissioners appointed to sell town lots in the town of
  Beaver, are hereby authorized to sue for and recover in the name of the
  commonwealth, the first moiety of the purchase money for the lots and land
  and to enter satisfaction upon the record.  12 Jan 1807.
  
  8. An act for the relief of JAMES   OGLIVIA.
  Whereas James Oglivia, of Montgomery county, at the commencement of the
  revolutionary war, served several tours of duty in the militia, that on 5 Oct
  1778, he enlisted in CAPTAIN   CHRISTIE's company of the 5th PA regiment
  commanded by COLONEL FRANCIS   JOHNSTON and continued therein until 1780, he
  was then put into the 2nd battalion of PA troops commanded by COLONEL
  RICHARD   BUTLER, that the term of his enlistment expired on 5 Oct 1781, but
  did not ask his discharge until after he saw the capture of Cornwallis at
  York town, in Virginia, that he then on 5 Nov , received his discharge, that
  he had now become infirm by age and by accident, and destitute of support,
  therefore, the sum of sixty dollars is hereby granted to James Oglivia,
  immediately, and an annuity of fifty dollars granted for the use of James
  Oglivia, to be paid to NATHANIEL B.   BOILEAU, to commence on 1 Jan 1807,
  paid half yearly, to provide clothing and diet for James Oglivia.  26 Jan
  1807.
  
  9. An act to authorize executors to convey a piece of land.
  Whereas DANIEL   HILL of Beaver county, now deceased, did covenant with
  THOMAS   WILLIAMS to convey to him 50 acres of land, and it has been
  ascertained that since the decease of Daniel Hill, the fifty acres are not
  included within the bounds  of the real estate of Daniel Hill, but are the
  property of another person, by reason of the contract cannot be carried into
  effect, and Thomas Williams is willing to accept another 50 acres, part of
  the real estate of Daniel Hill dec., in discharge of his agreement,
  therefore, JONATHAN   HILL and ELIZABETH   THATCHER, acting executors of the
  estate of Daniel Hill dec., are hereby authorized to execute a deed to Thomas
  Williams for 50 acres, part of the real estate of Daniel Hill, in lieu of the
  fifty acres agreed upon.  26 Jan 1807.
  
  10. An act to enable administrators to complete a title to lands.
  Whereas JAMES   CARMICHAEL, late of Greene county, dec., did procure a
  warrant for lands then in Washington county, but now in Greene, which warrant
  issued in the name of his brother-in-law FRANCIS   SEATON, but the purchase
  money was paid by James Carmichael, and by reason thereof Francis Seaton
  became the trustee of James Carmichael, and James Carmichael being seized  of
  the estate of the land surveyed in pursuance of the warrant did by articles of
  agreement, sell to divers individuals certain parts as farms, including water
  works as town and out lots, of a village called Lisburn of Carmichaelstown,
  and died intestate, not having completed the titles to the vendees, in
  pursuance of the articles, and Francis Seaton after the death of James
  Carmichael, in discharge of the trust vested in him, did convey the warrant
  and lands surveyed to WILLIAM S.   CARMICHAEL and MARGARET ESKRIDGE  
  CARMICHAEL, children of James Carmichael, to whom the land has been patented,
  by reason thereof William and Margaret have become the trustees of the
  purchasers from James Carmichael, for such parts of the land as were agreed
  to be conveyed to them, but by reason of the minority of William and
  Margaret, are unable to execute the trusts, therefore, SAMUEL   HYDE and
  BETTY   CARMICHAEL (now BETTY   THOMPSON) administers to the estate of James
  Carmichael of Greene county, dec., are hereby authorized to convey all lands
  to any person with written evidence of contract to convey.  26 Jan 1807.
  
  12. A supplement to an act to provide for the erection of  house for the
  employment and support of the Poor in Montgomery county.
  That JOSEPH   TYSON, ANDREW   TODD, ANDREW   MORGAN, JOSEPH   PRICE,
  MATTHEW   BROOKE, CHRISTIAN   SHEIDE, and PHILIP   GAUBLE, being citizens
  elected for the purpose of fixing a site for the accommodation of the poor. 
  26 Jan 1807.
  
  13. An act to incorporate a company to make a road through the counties of
  Wayne and Luzerne, beginning at the river Delaware near the town of Milford,
  to the 43rd mile stone, in the north line of the state.
  That JOHN   SHEE, ABRAHAM   BICKLEY, WILLIAM   PHILIPS and TENCH   COXE of
  the city of Philadelphia, JOHN   BRINK, JOHN   BRODHEAD, JAMES   BARTON,
  JOHN   BIDDIS, LEWIS   COLLINS, ASA   STANTON, and JOHN H.   SCHANK of the
  county of Wayne, and ISAAC   BROWNSON, and THOMAS   PARKE of Luzerne county,
  are hereby appointed commissioners.  26 Jan 1807.
  
  14. An act to afford immediate relief to DENNIS   M'KNIGHT, a soldier during
  the revolutionary war, and to grant him an annuity.
  It is honourable to the government of a free people to compensate those who
  have faithfully served it in trying times, and to provide the necessities of
  men who have assisted in the late glorious revolution, and have been disabled
  by wounds received in defence of their county's rights, that Dennis M'Knight,
  a soldier in the 8th battalion of militia of Chester county, was sorely
  wounded in battle, and having been taken prisoner suffered a long and
  grievous captivity, and he is now far advanced in years, and from the
  combined effects of age and sufferings is no longer able to maintain himself
  by labour, therefore, the state treasurer is hereby authorized to pay to
  Dennis M'Knight the sum of eighty dollars, and an annuity of forty dollars
  for the use of Dennis M'Knight, to be paid to ALEXANDER   OGLE, to commence
  on 1 Jan 1807, to be paid half yearly, to provide clothing, diet and lodging
  in Somerset county.   26 Jan 1807.
  
  15. An act to establish a public ferry on the west side of the Susquehanna
  river, eight miles above the mouth of Juniata river, in Cumberland county.
  That MARY   CLARK, shall have the right at her own cost to make a good
  landing on her estate on the west side of the Susquehanna river, on the great
  road leading from Harrisburgh by _____   MOREHEAD's (late ______   LYTLE's
  ferry, through Selinsgrove to the ferry opposite Sunbury in Northumberland
  county.   26 Jan 1807
  
  19. An act for the relief of JAMES   MITCHELL.
  Whereas James Mitchell entered into the army of the United States, in 1776,
  and was wounded in the ancke at the battle of Long Island, in the same year,
  which rendered him unfit for duty for some time, and in consequence of which
  he did not receive his full pay, that on his recovery he resumed the public
  service, and was some time afterwards appointed serjeant major in the
  regiment commanded by COLONEL RICHARD   BUTLER, in which capacity he
  continued to serve until the surrender of Corwallis at Yorktown in VA, when
  he was discharged, which discharge has been lost, and as he never received
  any thing in consequence of his wounds, nor a tract of donation lands,
  therefore James Mitchell shall be placed on the list of soldiers entitled to
  draw donation lands, and on his application, shall draw and patent him such
  quantity of donation lands as one of his rank is entitled to, in full of all
  his claims against the commonweath.   10 Feb 1807.
  
  20. An act for the relief of purchasers of confiscated estate of HARRY  
  GORDON, who was evicted from the same.
  Whereas by proclamation on 20 Mar 1781, name and require HENRY   GORDON to
  render himself to the proper officer on 1 Nov 1781, and to abide his trial
  for high treason, and whereas he did not render himself, in consequence
  thereof, the agents for forfeited estates seized two tracts of land in (then
  Bedford), now Huntingdon county, the property of Harry Gordon, one containing
  1495 acres, and the other containing 325 acres and sold the same to JAMES  
  WOODS, and whereas the council refused to give a deed for the lands to the
  purchaser, by reason of whether Harry Gordon was properly required to render
  himself by the name of Henry Gordon, whereupon, on the 31 Jan 1783, was
  passed an act for the surrender of Harry Gordon by 24 Jul 1783, and if he did
  not do so then the sale was confirmed, and as he did not, on 2 Oct 1783, a
  deed for the tracts of land was executed, and whereas 750 acres of the larger
  tract came by sundry conveyances from Woods to the devisees of ADAM   HOLIDAY,
  of Huntingdon county, and 462.75 acres of the same tract came by sundry
  conveyances to DAVID HAYFIELD   CONYNGHAM, of Philadelphia county, the
  possession of the remainder of the same tract not having been recovered by
  David Hayfield Conyngham, and the smaller tract of 325 acres came by sundry
  conveyances to DANIEL   MARTIN of Huntingdon county, and the devisees of Adam
  Holliday, David H. Conyngham, and Danial Martin, were by judgements rendered
  in the April session 1805, and 1806, evicted from the parcels of land by
  Harry Gordon, heir at law of the first named Harry Gordon, and it appears
  ground of the eviction was the misnomer of Harry Gordon, and it appears that
  the sale was not of some validity, therefore, the sum of $10,626.00 is hereby
  granted to David Hayfield Conyngham, and the executors of the last will of
  Adam Holliday, dec., in full compensation to them, by reason of the
  evictions, and DAVID   STEWART, ANDREW   HENDERSON, and JOHN   CANAN, are
  hereby appointed to view the tracts of land and to apportion the sum of money
  between David H. Conyngham and the heirs of Adam Holiday, and to pay the sum
  of $1,200.00 in full compensation to Daniel Martin for 325 acres.  10 Feb
  1807.
  
  24. An act for the relief of ISAAC   ELY.
  Whereas Isaac Ely of Reading, Berks county, on 8 Aug 1776 enlisted in the
  company of CAPTAIN ANDREW   REDHEFFER, in COLONEL JOHN   MOORE's battalion of
  the PA Flying Camp, and the 18 Nov following, was taken prisoner at Fort Lee,
  continued in confinement to about the middle of Feb. following (the greater
  part in a prison ship, where he suffered considerably), then permitted to go
  home on parole for a considerable time in the month of May, 1780, being three
  years nine months and some days from the time of his enlistment to the time of
  exchange, during all which time he received no pay, as testified by his
  captain, therefore, the sum of $103.00 is to be paid to Isaac Ely.   10 Feb
  1807.
  
  26. An act enabling an administratrix to convey lands.
  Whereas JACOB   EYERLY JR., late of Nazareth in Northampton county, dec., and
  GEORGE   HUBER of Bethlehem, Northampton county, blacksmith, was seized as
  tenants in common, of a certain messuage, plantation and tract of land,
  situate lying on the West branch of the river Delaware in Bethlehem twp.,
  adjoining lands late of PATRICK   GRAEME, and THOMAS   GRAEME, and land of
  CASPAR   WISTAR, containing 530 acres and also an island in the West Branch
  of Delaware, called #9, lying opposite the tract of land, and opposite to
  land now or late of RICHARD   FREEMAN, on the southerly side of the river,
  containing 9 acres and 130 perches, together with the appurtenances to the
  tract of land and island, that Jacob Eyerly Jr., and George Huber, sold and
  conveyed several parcels of the tract of 530 acres to divers citizens of
  Northampton county, and Jacob Eyerly Jr., on 3 Jul 1796, by writing signed by
  him in the presence of DANIEL   KLIEST ESQ., now dec., and of JOHN   WAGENER
  of Bethlehem, agreed to convey and release to George Huber, the said Jacob
  Eyerly's moiety, or undivided half of the tract and island, for 1343 pounds
  and 13 shillings, but the agreement was lost by George Huber, and was not
  recorded, but the money was paid, therefore, ANNA MARIA   HANKE, late ANNA
  MARIA   EYERLY, widow and relict of Jacob Eyerly Jr., late of Nazareth,
  Northampton county, dec., is hereby authorized by a deed of conveyance to
  convey and release to George Huber, the undivided half of the tract of land
  and island of Jacob Everly Jr.   4 Mar 1807.
  
  27. An act for the relief of ABRAHAM   GRIFFITHS.
  Whereas Abraham Griffiths was during the late revolutionary war, enlisted as
  a soldier and served three years in the PA line, and also that he never
  received the full amount of his pay and clothing, therefore, Abraham
  Griffiths is hereby allowed the sum of $100.00, in full for his services as a
  soldier in the late revolutionary war.  4 Mar 1807.
  
  28. An act for the relief of DOCTOR SAMUEL   EDMISTON.
  Whereas Doctor Samuel Edmiston entered into the service of his country, in
  1777 as a surgeon, and attended the sick and wounded on board of the armed
  vessels of war, that from his service he was ordered to accompany the flying
  camp, and from thence to attend at the general hospital, where he continued
  at his capacity until the termination of the war, and it appears by his
  receipt on file for the depreciation of his pay, that the petitioner was
  considered as a member of the army, during the war, and from his service he
  is entitled to be placed upon the same footing as the officers and soldiers
  of the line, therefore, the board of property is hereby authorized to grant
  to Doctor Samuel Edmiston, a patent for such quantity of donation land, as
  surgeons in the PA line were by law entitled to receive.  4 Mar 1807.
  
  29. An act for establishing and confirming the place for holding the courts
  of Justice, in the county district of M'Kean.
  That the seat of justice is established at the town of Smethsport, and it
  shall be the duty of the trustees to demand and receive from JOHN   KEATING,
  RICHARD   GERNON and JOHN S.   ROULET, a sufficient deed, in trust to them,
  for one full and equal moiety of the town lots for two public squares for the
  purpose of erecting the public buildings for the use of the county.   4 Mar
  1807.
  
  30. An act appointing a trustee in Centre County.
  That JOHN G.   LOWRY, is hereby appointed a trustee for Centre county, in the
  room and stead of ROBERT   BOGGS ESQ., dec., and John G. Lowry is hereby
  invested with all powers and authority of a trustee of the county.   4 Mar
  1807.
  
  31. An act for the relief of ANDREW   PATTERSON.
  Whereas Andrew Patterson, of York county, was an enlisted soldier for, and
  during the war, and served as an artificer in a company of artificer
  commanded by CAPTAIN THOMAS   WILEY, but from a wound received in his wrist,
  after serving about three years, was discharged, and left the service without
  receiving any of his bounty or clothing, therefore, the land office, is hereby
  authorized to issue a patent to Andrew Patterson, for such quantity of
  donation land, as he would have been entitled to, had he served to the end of
  the war.  4 Mar 1807.
  
  32. An act to enable JONATHAN   MIFFLIN, to convey a part of a tract of land.
  Whereas Jonathan Mifflin intermarried with FRANCES   MIFFLIN, who at the time
  of the intermarriage was seized and possessed of a tract of land, containing
  393 acres and 154 perches, situate, lying on the east side of French creek,
  surveyed and returned in the name of FANNY   MIFFLIN, adjoining lands of
  PETER   LEVY, and certain lots of donation land, #1512, and 1513, lands of
  EMILY   MIFFLIN and PAUL   LEVY, now in the county of Crawford, which was
  subject to certain conditions of settlement and improvements, without which
  the title could not be completed, and in order to complete the title,
  Jonathan Mifflin by articles of agreement, covenanted with JAMES   DIXON to
  settle and improve the tract of land, and did grant and agree with James
  Dixon to convey to him 100 acres of the tract, and James Dixon faithfully
  complied with the covenants and settled and improved the land so that an
  indefeasible estate in the land was vested in Frances Mifflin, but Frances is
  since deceased, leaving issue not capable by reason of minority to convey 100
  acres and Jonathan Mifflin, now claiming only an estate for life as tenant
  cannot complete the contract, therefore, Jonathan Mifflin is hereby
  authorized a deed to James Dixon for 100 acres, part of a tract of land
  surveyed and returned in the name of Fanny Mifflin.  4 Mar 1807.
  
  33. An act for the relief of JAMES   RALSTON.
  That the state treasurer is authorized to pay the sum of $373.67, as a
  compensation in full for services rendered by James Ralston as agent under an
  act to prevent intrusions on lands within the counties of Northampton,
  Northumberland and Luzerne.  	4 Mar1807.
  
  34. An act for the relief of WILLIAM   SHERRARD.
  Whereas William Sherrard, the father of WILLIAM   SHERRARD JR., dec., of
  Washington county, accompanied by evidence that a warrant was issued to
  PHILIP   WHITEY, dated 25 Oct 1784, for 400 acres situate on the waters of
  Fish creek, supposed to be within the county of Washington, and that Whiteby
  afterwards on 29 Jul 1785 conveyed his right and title of the warrant and
  land to JOHN   HUGHES and TIMOTHY   RYAN, and on 4 Aug 1785 patent was issued
  to John Hughes and Timothy Ryan, and Timothy Ryan then conveyed his right in
  the tract to John Hughes, who conveyed the 400 acres to William Sherrard Jr.,
  who since died between the age of 21 and 22, intestate, leaving neither widow,
  nor issue, that the land on running the permanent western boundary line of
  this state, was ascertained to be within this state, and within the state of
  VA, therefore, the board of property upon application of William Sherrard,
  (father of William Sherrard Jr., dec.) on making legal surrender of the
  patent, shall liquidate the amount of payments made, into the state treasury
  for the land, who shall deliver a certificate of such sum, with interest, to
  William Sherrard, and enter a credit on his books, which shall be
  transferable and admitted in payment of the arrears of any former grants of
  lands.  4 Mar 1807.
  
  36. An act to raise by lottery, sundry sums of money.
  That JOHN   HORN, JOHN   ROTH, GEORGE   KECK, GEORGE   WENNER, GEORGE  
  RHOADS, and GEORGE   YOUNDT, of Northampton county, are hereby appointed
  commissioners to raise money not to exceed $2000.00 for the payment of debts
  of the German Lutheran congregation, and for the erection of a school house
  in the town of Northampton.
  
  That JOHN   CLARK, CHRISTIAN   BROBST, ISAIAH   WILLIS, GABRIEL   LAUNT, and
  HEZEKIAH   BOON of the county of Northumberland, are hereby appointed
  commissioners to raise money not to exceed $2000.00, to be applied to the
  purpose of repairing, altering and improving a part of the great road leading
  from Catawissa to Reading, beginning at the west side of the Little Mountain
  and continuing towards Reading to the south side of the Tuscarora mountain. 
  4 Mar 1807.
  
  38. An act to incorporate a company for making a road from Harrisburg through
  Lewistown and Huntingdon to Pittsburg.

  MICHAEL   KEPPELE, MANUEL   EYRE, JOHN   WISTAR and SAMUEL   MEEKER of
  Philadelphia, CHARLES   SMITH, SAMUEL n   HUMES, JOHN   HUBLEY, ALEXANDER  
  PATTERSON, and JOHN   HALDEMAN of Lancaster county, JOHN   IRWIN, GEORGE  
  HOYER, JOHN   SHOCH, GEORGE   ZIEGLER, OBED   FAHNESTOCK, and JACOB   WAIN of
  Dauphin county, ISAAC   CRAVEN, WILLIAM   NORTH, JOHN   SHEWMAN, DAVID  
  MILLER, GEORGE   MITCHEL, and THOMAS   COCHRAN of Cumberland county, JACOB

  39. An act for the relief of JEREMIAH   LOUGHREY.
  Whereas Jeremiah Loughrey of Westmoreland county, was early engaged in the
  military service in defence of his country, and continued in service during
  the war with Great Britain, and afterwards in defence of the frontiers of the
  western part of this state against the Indians, where he received a wound in
  his shoulder, by which he is much disabled, and by reason of his advanced age
  he is now rendered unable to gain a livelihood by manual labour, therefore,
  the sum of forty dollars is hereby granted to Jeremiah Loughrey, immediately,
  and an annuity of forty dollars for the use of Jeremiah Loughrey, to be paid
  HUGH   MARTIN ESQ., of Westmoreland county, to commence the 1 Jan 1807, and
  paid half yearly.  4 Mar 1807.
  
  42. An act granting a tract of donation land.
  Whereas JOSEPH   SALMON, late a captain in COLONEL JAMES   MURRAY's regiment
  of Northumberland county militia, whilst in the service of his country during
  the revolutionary was, was taken prisoner by the Indians, and detained in
  captivity upwards of two years, during which time his then infant family
  solely dependant on his labour for support, was left destitute, and himself
  treated with all the rigour incident to savage warfare, and it also appearing
  that he hath not received from his country any compensation for his services
  and sufferings, therefore, there is granted to Joseph Salmon a tract of
  donation land to contain 300 acres, for which a patent shall be made to
  him.   4 Mar 1807.
  
  43. An act for the relief of GASPAR   DRIVER.
  That Gaspar Driver was a soldier in COLONEL   WAYNE's regiment, that at the
  battle of the Three Rivers in Canada, he received two wounds, one from a ball
  passing through his arm, and the other from a bayonet passing through his
  thigh, that at the same time he was made a prisoner, and remained a prisoner
  for a considerable length of time, that after his exchange, though disabled
  from the wounds, yet he enlisted again into the regiment commanded by
  COLONEL   HUMPTON in the PA line, for and during the war, and continued in
  the service until the termination thereof, that from the sufferings,
  hardships and the effects of his wounds, he is not able to maintain himself
  and family, therefore, the state treasurer is hereby authorized to pay a sum
  of forty dollars in favour of Gaspar Driver, and an annuity of forty dollars
  for his use to be paid to FRANCIS   M'CLURE, to commence from 1 Jan 1807, to
  be paid half yearly to Francis M'Clure of Allegheny county, to provide
  clothing, diet and lodging for Gaspar Driver.  4 Mar 1807.
  
  44. An act to enable ABRAHAM   REIST and JACOB   HOSTETTER to sell and convey
  a lot of ground.
  Whereas JOHN   METZLER, late of the town of Manheim, Lancaster county, lately
  died intestate, seized in a lot or piece of ground situate in the town,
  bounded on the south by a lot of SAMUEL   ENSMINGER, on which a small brick
  barn is erected.  That John Metzler left a widow named ELIZABETH   METZLER,
  and issue four children, JACOB   METZLER, JOHN   METZLER JR., ELIZABETH  
  METZLER JR., and ANN   METZLER, who are all minors, and the lot is
  unadvisable and unproductive and going to decay for want of repairs,
  therefore, Abraham Reist and Jacob Hostetter, administrators of John Metzler,
  dec., are hereby authorized to sell and convey the same to the purchaser and
  1/3 of the money is to be vested in a productive fund, either mortgage or
  stock, and the interest is to be for the use of the widow during her
  lifetime, and upon her decease, the 1/3 part is to be distributed among the
  children, the other 2/3 part is to be used to maintain and educate the minor

  45. An act establishing and confirming the place to hold the courts of
  Justice in the county district of Potter.
  Whereas an act to erect parts of Lycoming, Huntingdon and Somerset counties
  into separate county districts, passed 6 Mar  1804, SAMPSON   CRAWFORD,
  HUGH   WHITE and ROBERT   M'CLURE, trustees appointed for the county district
  of Potter, have transmitted received from JOHN   KEATING, in his own name, and
  on behalf of RICHARD   GERNON and JOHN S.   ROULET, and it appears Keating,
  Gernon, and Roulet caused a town to be laid out at the forks of Allegheny
  river, on a ground of 90 acres of land , to be called Coudersport, 2/3 to be
  conveyed to the trustees, exclusive of a square for the erection of public
  buildings, and to convey 150 acres for the use of an academy and pay the
  trustees the sum of $500.00 toward erecting a building, therefore, the seat
  of Justice for the county of Potter is hereby established and confirmed at
  the town of Coudersport, Potter county. recorded in recorder of deeds in the
  county of Lycoming, or in the county of Potter if then established.  11 Mar

  48. An act to sell and convey lands.
  Whereas JOHN   ALLESON, late of Washington county, dec., died seized of a
  tract of land, containing 260 acres, and by his last will and testament,
  devised one third to his wife JANE   ALLESON for the term of her natural
  life, 100 acres to his son JAMES   ALLESON for the term of his natural life,
  and the residue to his other children, and from the situation of the
  property, and from the condition of James Alleson who is both deaf and dumb,
  the management is deficient and unprofitable, the repairs consuming the
  greater portion of the rents, and whereas Jane Alleson, the widow,
  ARCHIBALD   ALLESON, THOMAS   ALLESON, HUGH   ALLESON, and GAWIN   ALLESON,
  children of John Alleson, and SAMUEL   AGNEW, guardian of the minor children
  of JOHN   ALLESON JR., dec, one other of the children of John Alleson the
  testator, therefore, it shall be lawful for Thomas Alleson and Samuel Agnew
  of Washington county, to sell and convey all the right, title and estate of
  John Alleson dec., containing 260 acres, with appurtenances, and to invest in
  stock or mortgage and from the proceeds pay one third part to Jane Alleson
  during her natural life, and the proceeds of 100 acres to the support of
  James Alleson during his natural life, and after the decease of Jane and
  James to distribute the same as directed by the will.   11 Mar 1807.
  
  49. An act to enable administrators to sell and convey real estate.
  Whereas THOMAS   WEST, late of Ridley twp., Delaware county, died intestate,
  seized of a messuage, plantation, and tract of land, leaving a mother and
  widow, each entitled to a dower and six minor children, and insufficient
  assets to pay his debts and provide for the education of his children,
  therefore, JAMES   MARIS, and SAMUEL   DAVIS, administrators of the estate of
  Thomas West, dec., are hereby empowered to sell and convey all that messuage,
  plantation and tract of land, bounded by land of WILLIAM   BROWN, CURTIS  
  LOWNS, GEORGE   DAVIS, CYRUS  lain  NEWLIN, GEORGE   WARNER, and ESTHER  
  THOMPSON and JOHN   THOMPSON, containing 97 acres, and make a deed of
  conveyance to the purchaser.  11 Mar 1807.
  
  50. An act to incorporate the Philadelphia Society for the encouragement of
  domestic manufactures.
  That PAUL   COX, JOHN   DORSEY, ROBERT   M'MULLIN, WILLIAM   MITCHELL,
  WILLIAM   LINNARD, HENRY   ORTH, SAMUEL   HARVEY, SAMUEL   WILLIAMSON,
  WILLIAM Y.   BURCH, EBENEZER   FERGUSON, SAMUEL   SMITH, and HUGH   HENRY,
  shall be the present directors.  11 Mar 1807.
  51. An act for the relief of JAMES   SMITH.
  Whereas James Smith of Lycoming county, a private soldier in CAPTAIN JAMES  
  MURRY's company of the flying camp, was taken prisoner at Fort Washington the
  16 Nov 1776, and remained in confinement until Mar. following, when he was
  liberated, but owing to sickness and debility, did not reach his home until
  one month after, and he never received any pay or compensation for his
  services and sufferings during the term, therefore, the state treasurer is
  hereby directed to pay to James Smith of Lycoming county, the sum of $100.00
  in full for his services and sufferings whilst a prisoner, in the late
  revolutionary war with Great Britain.  11 Mar 1807.
  
  55. An act to incorporate the Lancaster and Susquehanna Insurance company.
  That WILLIAM   KIRKPATRICK, ADAM   REIGART JR., SAMUEL   HUMES, JOHN  
  HUBLEY, JACOB   KRUG, JAMES   HOPKINS, SAMUEL   BETHEL, THOMAS   BOUDE,
  DOCTOR JOHN   WATSON, MICHAEL   GUNDACKER, JAMES   WHITEHILL, GEORGE  
  GRAEFF, GEORGE   DUFFIELD, JAMES   HOUSTON, EDWARD   BRIEN, SAMUEL   WHITE
  and ABRAHAM   WITMER, have been elected by the stockholders, and shall be the
  present directors of the company to insure against losses by fire.  19 Mar

  58. An act establishing an academy in the borough of Wilkesbarre, in Luzerne
  county.

  60. An act to enable administrators to convey a trust of land.
  Whereas SAMUEL   CUSTER purchased of ISAAC   MORGAN, a tract of land
  containing 50.75 acres, situate in Charlestown twp., Chester county, and he
  hath made payment according to the terms made with Isaac Morgan, who is since
  dead, as to the written agreement which has been lost, whereof he is deprived
  of the means of obtaining a title, therefore, SARAH   MORGAN, administratrix
  and JONATHAN   MORGAN, adminstrator to the estate of Isaac Morgan, dec., are
  hereby authorized to convey unto Samuel Custer, the tract of land.  19 Mar
  1807.
  
  61. An act authorizing persons named to lease a tract of land situate in
  Falls twp., Bucks county.
  Whereas WILLIAM   PENN, formerly proprietor and governor of the late province
  of PA, in consideration of certain persons holding land in Falls twp., Bucks
  county, by grants from the duke of York, for the accommodation of his manor
  of Pennsbury, which he was laying out, did on 13 Sep 1682, order the surveyor
  general to lay off a tract of land of 125 acres in the Falls twp., for the use
  of the inhabitants, and on 16 Aug 1784, 20 acres of the tract was sold by the
  commissioners for taxes, and the inhabitants desire the tract to be let out
  on lease and rents applied to the schooling of poor children, therefore,
  MAHLON   MILNOR, DANIEL   LOVETT, JOHN   CARLISLE, CHARLES   BROWN,
  WILLIAM    WARNER, and JOHN   MOTT are appointed and declared a body politic
  and corporate, by the name of Trustees of the Falls Twp. free school.    24

  62. An act for the relief of BERNARD   HUBLEY of Northumberland county.
  Whereas Bernard Hubley, late an officer in the army of the United States,
  vested his certificates of pay in the purchase of part of the confiscated
  estate of WILLIAM   RANKIN, late of the county of York, an attainted traitor,
  and paid the agents for a tract of 140 acres and 76 perches, the sum of 661
  pounds, but by reason of title paramount, in THOMAS   CAMPBELL, for 74 acres,
  he was unable to obtain possession thereof, and upon an ejectment bought by
  Bernard Hubley, for the recovery which was tried at the circuit court, York
  county, on 21 Apr last, a verdict was rendered for the defendants, and he
  also paid the agents the sum of 455 pounds for a part of another tract of
  land and ferry, known as Noblet's ferry, but by reason of irregularities in
  the proceedings of the sale by the agents, and difficulties as to the title
  of William Rankin, the sale was not confirmed, nor any title given to him,
  therefore, the state treasurer is hereby authorized to pay Bernard Hubley,
  the sum of $3478.58 as full compensation to him for loss of 74 acres of land,
  and also in full for the money paid by him for land for which no conveyance

  63. An act to incorporate trustees of Meadville Academy.
  That there shall be established in the town of Meadville, Crawford county, an
  academy for the education of youth, and the first trustees are ROGER   ALDEN,

  67. An act granting a tract of donation land.
  Whereas GEORGE   HUBER and MICHAEL   ZELLER enlisted as privates into the
  company commanded by CAPTAIN   DECKERT, of the 5th PA regiment, that they
  were made prisoners at the surrender of Fort Washington in which condition
  they continued suffering much with cold and hunger, until they were
  discharged, and it appears that they had no compensation for their services
  and sufferings, therefore, the land officers are hereby directed to issue a
  patent for 200 acres of donation land to George Huber and Michael Zeller of
  Dauphin county, as tenants in common.   31 Mar 1807.

  73. An act granting an annuity to ARCHIBALD   M'FALL.
  Whereas Archibald M'Fall of Chester county, enlisted in the service of his
  country, at an early period of the American revolution, and faithfully fought
  in his country's cause in the PA line, 2nd brigade and 5th regiment, and after
  experiencing the severities of seven glorious campaigns, a rigid captivity,
  and two wounds, he was permitted to retire from the field, that he hath not
  received any donation land, that he is far advanced in life, is now
  incompetent to gain a livelihood by personal labour, therefore, an annuity of
  forty dollars is granted for the use of Archibald M'Fall, to be paid half
  yearly to JOHN G.   BULL, of Chester county, to commence from 1 Jan 1807, to
  provide clothing, lodging and diet  for Archibald M'Fall.   31 Mar 1807.
  
  75. An act to raise by lottery, a sum of money to defray the expenses
  incurred by the trustees of the German Lutheran Congregation of the borough
  of Lancaster.
  That CONRAD   SWARTZ, MICHAEL   GUNDACKER, GEORGE   MESSERSMITH, JOHN  
  GUNDACKER, BENJAMIN   SHAUM, PETER   SHINDLE, LEONARD   EICHHOLTZ, JACOB  
  STAHL, JONAS   METZGAR, JOHN   BURG, CHRISTOPHER   KURTZ, JOHN   HOFF and
  HENRY   SWENTZEL, are hereby appointed commissioners to defray costs of
  erecting a steeple in their house of worship.  4 Apr 1807.
  
  78. An act for making a road from Coshecton and Great Bend Turnpike through
  Moosic mountain, to the west line of the state.
  That HENRY   DONNEL, GEORGE   HAINES and JOHN   FOSTER, are hereby appointed
  commissioners to mark a road that passes through Weilesborough, Tioga county,
  then by way of the Big Meadows at the third fork of Pine Creek, to Coudersport
  in Potter county.
  
  That SAMUEL   DALE, JOHN   BOYD and FRANCIS   KING, are hereby appointed
  commissioners to mark a road from Coudersport to Smethsport in the county of
  M'Kean, thence to Warren, Warren county to the western line of the state.   4

  80. An act to enable a guardian to sell real estate.
  Whereas PRUDENCE   SLATER, dec., devised to her children, THOMAS   SLATER,
  JOHN   SLATER, JAMES   SLATER, AN  N SLATER, ELIZABETH   SLATER, MARY  
  SLATER and SIBBY   SLATER, inter alia, two certain messuages and a lot of
  ground in the borough of Lancaster, that Elizabeth hath died, leaving issue
  one daughter, a minor, that the property is unproductive and decaying for
  want of repairs, therefore, HENRY   HAWKINS, guardian of MARIA   BICKER, of
  the city of Philadelphia, is hereby authorized to sell and convey all the
  right, title and interest of Maria Bicker to two messuages and lot of ground,
  adjoining property late of JACOB   METOR, dec., and make a deed of conveyance
  to the purchaser, the proceeds to be put in a productive fund.  4 Apr 1807.
  
  81. An act to enable SAMUEL   JACKSON, of Allegheny county, to sell and
  convey land.
  Whereas Samuel Jackson intermarried with SUSANNA   RENO, who during the
  intermarriage by reason of the father of Susanna dying intestate, became
  entitled to the seventh part of a tract of land, situate in St. Clair twp.,
  containing 300 acres, that Susanna is since deceased, leaving issue one son,
  now a minor, that all other heirs have sold and conveyed their interest in
  the tract to PRESSLY   NEVILL, and the remaining seventh part is
  unproductive, therefore, Samuel Jackson is hereby authorized to sell all the
  right and title to the seventh part of land, and to make and execute a deed
  to the purchaser.  4 Apr 1807.
  
  83. An act to partition lands. 
  Whereas an act passed 21 Mar 1806, to enable JOHN PHILIP   DE GRUCHY and
  JOHN   BOYD, guardians of JANE   HUMPHRYS a minor, to make petition on her
  behalf of lands belonging to her and others, as tenants in common, situated
  in the county of Lycoming, and in one or more of the counties adjoining,
  whereof, ISAAC   WHARTON, DAVID   LEWIS, JESSE   WALN, ROBERT   WALN,
  WILLIAM   WALN, and ALEXANDER   FULLERTON, THOMAS   FITZSIMONS, JOHN   MILLER
  JR., and ROBERT   BIRD, and JOHN   HUMPHRYS, then stood seized as tenents in
  common,  and before the deeds were prepared for the partition, Jesse Waln,
  departed this life intestate, leaving issue, SARAH   WALN, married to
  THOMAS   BULKELEY, JESSE   WALN JR., REBECCA   WALN married to EDWARD  
  TILGHMAN JR.,   ANN WALN, REBECCA   WHARTON and SUSAN   WHARTON, daughters of
  MARY WALN   WHARTON, the former wife of MOORE   WHARTON, and daughter of Jesse
  Waln, dec., which Mary Wharton died in the lifetime of her father, and Rebecca
  Tilghman, Ann Waln, Rebecca Wharton and Susan Wharton are minors, under the
  age of 21, and the partition has been executed by the tenants in common who
  are of full age, therefore, Edward Tilghman Jr., the husband of Rebecca
  Tilghman, is authorized to act for behalf, and guardians appointed by the
  court of Philadelphia for Ann Waln, Rebecca Wharton and Susan Wharton, are
  hereby authorized to make partition of the lands, on behalf of the minors.  4

  84. An act for the removal of the Powder Magazine from the city of
  Philadelphia.
  That JOHN   DUNLAP, THOMAS   LEIPER, MATHEW   SHAW, STEPHEN   DECATUR, and
  JOHN   SINGER, are hereby appointed to make a sale of the power magazine and
  buildings with the lot and to convey, reserving the right to keep powder
  there until new magazine built, to the purchaser.   4 Apr 1807.
  
  86. An act for the relief of JOHN   RYBECKER.
  Whereas it appears that John Rybecker was a soldier in the PA line, in the
  late revolutionary war, and while in the service of his country, he received
  very wounds, the effects of which prevent him from procuring that subsistence
  which it would otherwise be in his power to procure, therefore, the land
  office is hereby authorized to grant to John Rybecker a patent for a tract of
  donation land according to his rank.  4 Apr 1807.
  
  87. An act to authorize the sale and convenance of real estate.
  Whereas ROBERT E.   GRIFFITH, surviving partner of PHILIP   NICKLIN, dec.,
  JULIANA   NICKLIN, widow and adminstratix of Philip Nicklin, and natural
  guardian of his minor children, and BENJAMIN   CHEW JR., administrator of
  Philip Nicklin, that Philip Nicklin and Robert E. Griffith were merchants and
  co-partners in the city of Philadelphia, and accepted from several people,
  conveyances of lands lying in various counties of PA, in satisfaction of
  debts due to the company, and also purchased other tracts of land, that the
  sudden death of Philip Nicklin has rendered it necessary to close the
  partnership business, but Philip Nicklin died intestate leaving seven minor
  children, with no legal authority to sell and convey the real estate,
  therefore, it shall be lawful for Robert E. Griffith to make sale and convey
  for Philip Nicklin as well as himself, the real estate owned as tenents in
  common, and the proceeds used to pay joint debts and the surplus to be
  divided.  It shall be lawful for the administrators of Philip Nicklin to
  grant and convey all real estate belonging to the deceased, and the proceeds
  to pay his debts and the surplus divided as by law.  4 Apr 1807.
  
  88. An act to annul a marriage.
  Whereas MARTHA   MARSHALL, late MARTHA   MILES, and JAMES ISAAC THOMAS  
  MARSHALL, were lawfully joined in marriage, on the 15 May 1804, and on 3 Nov
  1806, James Marshall was convicted in the Mayor's court of the city of
  Philadelphia, of forging a bank of the Trenton banking company, for which
  crime he was sentenced to an imprisonment at hard labour for the term of two
  years in the goal of Philadephia county, where he now remains, and it appears
  proper to grant Martha a divorce, therefore, James Isaac Thomas Marshall,
  otherwise called _______   KENSETT, and Martha his wife, is hereby annulled
  and the parties set free from all duties as if they had never been joined in
  marriage, but nothing shall be construed to effect or render illegitimate any
  child or children born of the body of Martha during her coverture.   4 Apr

  89. An act to confirm title to a lot of land.
  Whereas MICHAEL   SPIEGLE of Springfield Twp., Philadelphia county, by his
  last will and testament did devise unto MARY   SPIEGLE his wife, and
  PHILIP   DRESHER, a lot of 16 acres and 56 perches of land, and Mary Spiegle
  afterwards intermarried with JOHN   KENNER, to whom Philip Dresher conveyed
  all his right and title in the property, that Mary died intestate, leaving no
  children or kindred, that John Kenner supposing himself to be the heir to the
  land, did on 31 Mar 1795, convey the 16 acres and 56 perches of land to
  NICHOLAS   KLINE, who being uneasy about the title procured form John Kenner
  a bond of 1500 pounds, that John Kenner has since deceased, and devised by
  will a portion of his estate to persons who have become lunatic, who are now
  in the hospital, and a part to charitable and religous purposes.  Nicholas
  Kline then conveyed  the land to GEORGE   BILGER, whereupon an inquisition
  was had at Norristown, Montgomery county, the 12 Feb 1806, and it was
  determined the land was escheated to the commonwealth, therefore, all right
  and title which the commonwealth has acquired by reason of an escheat for
  want of heirs or kindred of Mary Kenner, formerly Mary Spiegle, to a lot
  situate in Springfield twp., Montgomery county, is hereby vested in George
  Bilger.  7 Apr 1807.
  
  90. An act to incorporate a company for making a road from the Philadelphia
  and Lancaster road in Lancaster county, near the Gap tavern, to the Delaware
  state line.
  That JAMES   BOYD, ELLIS   PUSEY, WILLIAM   WEST, ROBERT   COCHRAN and
  JOSEPH   JOHNSON of Chester county, and HENRY   SLAYMAKER, MICHAEL  
  GUNDACKER, FRANCIS   BAILEY, and JAMES   MOORE JR., of Lancaster county, are
  hereby appointed commissioners.  7 Apr 1807.
  
  91. An act granting a tract of donation land.
  Whereas JACOB   BOTTIMORE served as a soldier in the 2nd regiment of PA, for
  upwards of four years, that on the 2 Jan 1777, in a skirmish which ensued
  after the battle of Trenton, he was wounded by a musket ball which passed
  through his body and broke two of his ribs, that he was honourably discharged
  from the service, and is now become old and infirm, and by reason of said
  wound is unable to procure a livelihood by manual labour, therefore, the land
  officers are hereby authorized to issue a patent for 200 acres of donation
  land to Jacob Bottimore.  7 Apr 1807.
  
  92. An act for the relief of EDWARD   CHISSELDEN.
  Whereas Edward Chisselden was a soldier in the 8th PA regiment, and served
  during the revolutionary war, that as such he received a tract of donation
  land, that as such he received a certificate for the depreciation of his pay,
  issued in his name, for the sum of 75 pounds, 1 shilling, that the certificate
  was redeemed through the land office, being presented by PETER   BENSON, that
  on 8 Jun 1785, letter of administration were fraudulently obtained by a
  JOHN   MALONE, that a suit was instituted in the court of common pleas of
  Philadelphia county, by Chisselden, against John Malone, at Dec. term, 1789,
  but John Malone could not be found or arrested, and as Edward Chisselden, is
  now old and deprived of sight, and without relations, and much in need of
  public assistance, therefore, the state treasurer is to pay JAMES   KERR,
  $512.00, and shall be disposed for the benefit and maintenance of Edward
  Chisselden, of Washington county.  7 Apr 1807.
  
  94. An act to sell and convey a tract of land.
  Whereas ABRAHAM   DAWSON, did by his last will and testament, bequeath to the
  inhabitants of West Caln twp., Chester county, a tract of land containing 32.5
  acres, for the use of the poor of the township, on condition of paying the
  price of patenting the same, therefore, JAMES   M'CLELLAN ESQ., and HUGH  
  THOMPSON ESQ., are hereby authorized to sell and convey the tract of land, to
  a purchaser, and to pay over the money to repair the roads and highways of the
  township.  7 Apr 1807.
  
  97. An act granting a tract of donation land.
  Whereas JOHN   ALLEN, late of Morris county, New Jersey, served as a soldier,
  enlisted for and during the war, in the 1st regiment of PA, for upwards of 3
  years, that at the battle of Yorktown he received a wound, in consequence of
  which he was sent to the general hospital, from whence he obtained an
  honourable discharge dated 22 Jan 1782, signed by LIEUTENANT COLONEL F.  
  MENTGES, and it also appears that John Allen never received donation land, to
  which he was entitled, therefore, the land officers are hereby authorized to
  issue a patent for 200 acres of donation land, to the heirs of John Allen.  7

  101. An act to convey town lots in the town of Mountpleasant.
  Whereas ALEXANDER   M'GREADY, late of Mountpleasant twp., Westmoreland
  county, dec., laid out a town, known by the name of Mountpleasant, and sold
  one lot by written contract, and several lots by verbal contract, and
  received money and gave possession of the lots to the purchasers, #20 on Main
  St. to PATRICK   CUNNINGHAM, #5 on Main St. to MICHAEL SMITH, and #9, 10, 11,
  12 on Main St. to CLEMENTS   BURLEIGH, and #24 on Main St. to PATRICK  
  M'GREADY, and #23 on Main St. to JOHN   EDGAR SEN., but before titles were
  made, Alexander M'Gready died intestate, and JOHN   EDGAR and JOHN s24  
  GALLOWAY, guardians of the minor children and property of the intestate
  petition to convey the lots to the purchasers, therefore, the guardians are
  hereby authorized on behalf of the heirs of Alexander M'Gready to convey all
  lots sold and vest the titles to the purchasers.  7 Apr 1807.
  
  105. An act to incorporate a company to make a road from the court house in
  the borough of Gettysburgh, through Petersburgh, to the Maryland line near
  Biddle's Mill.

  107. An act vacating part of old York road, and authorizing the court of
  Montgomery county to direct a new road laid out.
  In 1712 a provincial or state road was laid out from JOHN   READING's landing
  on the river Delaware to the city of Philadelphia, called the old York road,
  and now that part between Cheltenham and Willow Grove turnpike road and the
  southwest boundry of Bucks county is hereby vacated to widen it.   7 Apr 1807.
  
  108. An act vesting title of land.
  Whereas members of the congregation of Presbyterians and Lutherans, have
  erected a house for public worship and a school house on a tract of land
  containing 60 acres, situate in Mahonoy twp., Northumberland county, which is
  the property of the commonwealth, that the land is of inferior quality and
  little improved, and the congregation few in number, and not wealthy, they
  pray the title be vested in trustees for the benefit of the congregation,
  therefore, the land office is hereby authorized to issue a warrant, and
  complete title on receiving the office fees, for 60 acres adjoining lands of
  ADAM   CAMPBELL, NICHOLAS   ROB, ANTHONY   DOCKEY and JACOB   YEAGLEY, unto
  ADAM   LENKER ESQ., and JOHN  BINGMAN, in trust for the sole use of the

  109. An act to restore a stream of water, to its ancient course.
  Whereas DAVID   MAHON, JOHN   SIMPSON and others, inhabitants of
  Shippensburgh and its vicinity of Cumberland county, labour under great
  inconvenience from the want of water in their wells, and through their farms,
  from a sudden termination of an ancient stream, by the waters wholly sinking
  into the ground on the plantation of ADAM   MYER, and passing off through a
  subterraneous channel without making its appearance again, and unless it is
  restored, the property in the village of Shippensburgh and the farms
  adjacent, will daily diminish in value, and as no contract can be entered
  into with Adam Myer because of his long since mortgaging his plantation,
  therefore, David Mahon, John Simpson, GEORGE   M'CANDLESS, ROBERT   PORTER,
  JOHN  n  DUNCAN, shall have full power and authority to enter into and upon
  the tract of land now in the tenure and possession of Adam Myer, situated in
  Southampton twp., bounded by the lands of the heirs of JOHN   M'LEAN on the
  south, lands of the heirs of THOMAS   NICHOLS on the east, lands late of the
  heirs of JOHN   M'KNIGHT, now JOHN   WALLACE on the north, and lands of the
  heirs of ROBERT   COFFY on the west, to restore a stream of water.  7 Apr

  111. An act to raise by lottery a sum of money to defray the expenses
  incurred by the trustees of the Lutheran Congregation in the village of
  Strasburgh, Lancaster county.

  near its falls.

  a mill race on the tract of land now held by him on the northeast side of the
  falls of Schuylkill, to extend not more then two perches, into the river, as

  conveyances to John Fromberger, who on the 4 Feb 1802, was regularly evicted
  by reason of a title paramount, to Joseph Griswold of the city of New York,

  GRISWOLD, and was afterwards purchased by Charles Thompson in 1783, subject
  to the payment of 30 bushels of wheat annually, to the trustees of the
  University of PA., and Charles Thompson on 14 Apr 1806, by due course of law,
  was evicted from the premises by a title paramount in Joseph Griswold, a
  citizen of New York, therefore, the treasurer is to pay to Charles Thompson
  of the county of Montgomery, PA., the sum of $2000.00 as full compensation
  for all costs and damages he sustained in consequence of being evicted from

  136. An act for the establishment and regulation of election districts.
  That Buffaloe twp., Armstrong county, is hereby erected into a separate
  election district, and the electors shall hold their elections at the house
  now occupied by JACOB   YOUNG.
  
  That Sugar Creek twp., Armstrong county, is hereby erected into a separate
  election district, and the electors shall hold their elections at the house
  now occupied by JOST   WEILES.
  
  That Toby twp., Armstrong county, is hereby erected into a separate election
  district, and the electors shall hold their elections at the house now
  occupied by THOMAS   M'KIBBINS.
  
  That Allegheny twp., Armstrong county, is hereby erected into a separate
  election district, and the electors shall hold their elections at the house
  now occupied by SOLOMON   SHOEMAKER.
  
  That Red Bank twp., Armstrong county, is hereby erected into a separate
  election district, and the electors shall hold their elections at the house

  That the electors in Slippery Rock Twp., in Beaver county, who held their
  elections at the house of ANANIAS   ALLEN, shall hereafter hold them at the
  house now occupied by JONAS   KELLY.
  
  That Providence twp., Bedford county, is hereby erected into a separate
  election district, and the electors shall hold their elections at the house
  formerly occupied by MICHAEL   BARNDOLLAR, on the east side of Bloody Run.
  
  That Dublin twp., Bedford county, shall be a separate election district, and
  the electors shall hold their elections at the house of GEORGE   DANSDELL.
  
  That Bethel twp., Bedford county, shall be a separate election district, and
  the electors shall hold their elections in Warfordsburg, at the house of
  JAMES   PARSONS.
  
  That part of Cambria county, the summit of the Allegheny mountain at Blair's
  Gap, along the state road to the town of Munster, along Galbreath's road to
  the house of HENRY   REUGLE, on the head waters of Saltlick run, etc. shall
  hold their elections at the house now occupied by JOHN   BRANNIFF.
  
  That part of West Hanover twp., Dauphin county, south of the road leading
  from the fording place at Beaver creek, past WILLIAM   ALLENS, to _____  
  EARLY's mill, etc., shall hold their elections at the house now occupied by
  JACOB   GREENAWALT, in Hummelstown.
  
  That East Hanover twp., Dauphin county, shall be formed into a separate
  election district, and the electors shall hold their elections at the house
  now occupied by JOHN   HARPER.
  That the county of Erie shall be divided, the townships of Coniatue and
  M'Kean, district #2, and the electors shall hold their elections at the house
  now occupied by JAMES   M'GINNIS, Fairview twp., district #3, and the electors

  Waterford, the townships of Beaver dam and Harbour creek, district #7, and
  the electors shall hold their elections at the house now occupied by
  THOMAS   MORTON, Northeast twp., district #8, and the electors shall hold
  their elections at the house now occupied by ANDREW   LOWRY, the townships of
  Greenfield and Venango, district #9, and the electors shall hold their
  elections at the house now occupied by PHILO   BARKER, in the Station, the
  townships of Broken Straw and Union, district #10, and the electors shall

  That the electors of Saltlick twp., Fayette county, shall hold their
  elections at the house now occupied by BENJAMIN   DAVIS, near Indian Creek.
  
  That Southampton twp., Franklin county, is hereby erected into a separate
  election district, and the electors shall hold their elections at the house
  now occupied by WILLIAM   SCOTT ESQ.
  
  That part of Huntingdon county, called the tenth district, shall be a
  separate election district and the electors shall hold their elections at the
  house of LAZARUS BROWN   M'CLEAN, in the town of Alexandria.
  
  That Armstrong, Washington, and Centre twps., Indiana county, is hereby
  erected into a separate election district and the electors shall hold their
  elections at the house now occupied by PETER   SUTTEN, in the town of Indiana.
  
  That Blacklick twp., Indiana county, is hereby erected into a separate
  election district, and the electors shall hold their elections at the house
  now occupied by PATRICK   M'GEE.
  
  That Connemaugh twp., Indiana county, is hereby erected into a separate
  election district and the electors shall hold their elections at the house
  now occupied by JOHN   MARSHALL.
  
  That Mahoning twp., Indiana county, is hereby erected into a separate
  election district, and the electors shall hold their elections at the house
  now occupied by JAMES   BREADY SEN.
  
  That Martock twp., Lancaster county, is hereby erected into a separate
  election district, and the electors shall hold their elections at the house
  of GEORGE   HESS, now occupied by TEMPEST   WILLSON.
  
  That the electors of Mountjoy twp., 3rd district, Lancaster county, shall
  hold their elections at the house of ALEXANDER   BOGGS, in the village of
  Elizabethtown, and that part of Donegal twp., beginning at the river
  Susquehanna at the landing place late of BARTRAM   GALBRAITH, dec., along the
  road to Elizabethtown to the dwelling house of JOHN   HURST, to the house of
  FREDERICK   GRAM, to the house of MICHAEL   GROSS, to turnpike near the house
  of ABRAHAM   HEARNLY, is hereby annexed to the 3rd district, and the electors
  shall vote with the electors of Mountjoy twp.
  
  That the electors of the 11th district of Lancaster county, shall hold their
  elections at the house of JOHN   HOUSTON, in the village of Churchtown, now
  occupied by JOHN   ROBERTS.
  
  That part of Orwell twp., Luzerne county, shall hold their elections at the
  house now occupied by JOSIAH   GRANT.
  That Clifford twp., Luzerne county, is hereby erected into a separate
  election district, and the electors shall hold their elections at the house
  now occupied by ASAHEL   GREGORY.
  
  That the electors of the 3rd election district in Lycoming county, shall hold
  their elections at the house now occupied by JAMES   SHEARER, innkeeper, in
  Jersey shore village.
  
  That Delmar twp., Lycoming county, shall be a separate election district, and
  the electors shall hold their elections at the house now occupied by JOSHUA  
  EMLEN, in Wellsborough.
  
  That the electors of the 5th district, of Mifflin county, shall hold their
  elections at the house now occupied by GEORGE   GALBRAITH, innkeeper, in the
  town of Waynesburg.
  
  That the 6th election district, of Montgomery county, shall be composed of
  Pottsgrove, lately erected from a part of New Hanover and part of Douglass
  twp., and the electors shall hold their elections at the house of WILLIAM  
  LESHER in Pottstown, and the electors of the remainder of Douglass and New
  Hanover twps., shall hold their elections at the house of HENRY   KREPS, in
  New Hanover twp.
  
  That the electors of part of Allen twp., Northampton county, who now hold
  their elections at the house of ADAM   SHOENER, in Hanover twp., shall hold
  their elections at the house now occupied by ABRAHAM   MENSH, in Allen twp.
  
  That Upper Mahonoy twp., Northumberland county, shall form an election
  district, and the electors shall hold their elections at the house of
  LEONARD   REITZ.
  
  That the place of holding elections in Mahonoy twp., Northumberland county,
  shall be changed from the house of WILLIAM   DOBSON to the house of
  MICHAEL   EMRICK, dec., and the 18th district in the house of WILLIAM   DALE.
  
  That the electors of part of Irwin twp., Venango county, who held their
  elections at the house formerly occupied by JOHN   ANDREWS, in the town of
  Franklin, are hereby authorized to hold their elections where the court of
  justice is held.
  
  That the electors of Fawn twp., called the 10th election district, York
  county, and hold their elections at the house now occupied by ROBERT  
  RAMSEY, innkeeper.
  
  That Sadsbury twp., Crawford county, shall be an election district, and the
  electors shall hold their elections at the house now occupied by JAMES  
  MOUNT.
  
  That Mahoning twp., Mercer county, is hereby erected into a separate election
  district, shall meet and hold their elections at the house now occupied by
  GEORGE   ALLISON.
  
  That Neshanock twp., Mercer county, shall hereby be erected into a separate
  election district, and the electors shall hold their elections at the house
  now occupied by BEVEN   PEARSON.
  
  That Shenango twp., Mercer county, shall be erected into a separate election
  district, and the electors shall hold their elections at the house now

  That Centre twp, Centre county, is hereby declared to be a separate election

  137. An act making appropriations for roads mentioned, and for improving the
  navigation of certain rivers.
  $600.00 for improving the Glade state road from WILLIAM   BACKHOUSE's tavern,
  on the top of Laurel hill, to ______   ARNFRIEDT's tavern, at the forks of the
  Pittsburgh and Washington road, $600.00 for improving the road from
  Arnfriedt's to ______   LOBINGIER's mill, $100.00 for improving the
  Pittsburgh road from Arnfriedt's to WILLIAM   GOLDEN's tavern at the foot of
  Chestnut ridge.
  
  $9000.00 from the estate of JOHN   NICHOLSON dec., for improving the
  navigation of the river Schuylkill from ______   HAA's mill to Locust creek,
  and $400.00 for improving the navigation of that branch known by the name of
  Big Schuylkill, from _______   MORRIS's iron works, to JACOB   STAHL's mill,
  and PETER   RICHARDS, JOSEPH   HEISTER and 	ROBERT   KENNEDY, are hereby
  appointed commissioners to contact for the improvements.
  
  $1500.00 to JOHN   HALDIMAN, THOMAS   BOUDE and ALEXANDER   BOGGS, for
  improving the navigation of Susquehanna, from Columbia to Middletown, a
  similar warrant in favor of JAMES   HAMILTON, THOMAS   STUBBS and REUBEN  
  LOCKART, for improving said river form Middletown to the mouth of Juniata, a
  similar warrant for $500.00 in favor of GEORGE   M'CELLAND, JOHN \pard v  
  GALLESPIE and JOHN   BROWN, for improving the navigation of the river
  Juniata, from its mouth to the mouth of Kishecoquillis, and a similar warrant
  for $1000.00 in favor of JAMES   SMITH, JOHN   DUNLOP and ROWLAND   CURTIN,
  for improving  the navigation of Bald Eagle creek, from its mouth to
  Milesburgh in Centre county.
  
  The sum of $600.00 appropriated for Tulpehocken road from MICHAEL   ORTS,
  over the broad  mountain in Berks county.  11 Apr 1807.
  
  140. An act to raise by lottery, a sum not exceeding $3500.00, for finishing
  a church at Barrenhill, in Montgomery county.
  That FREDERICK D.   SHAFFER, HENRY   KATZ, LEONARD   KOLB, JOHN   HART,
  GEORGE   BISBING and WILLIAM   HALLMAN, are hereby appointed
  commissioners.   13 Apr 1807.
  
  141. An act making appropriations.
  That the sum  of $117.92, is hereby appropriated to re-imburse JOSEPH   REED,
  prothonotary of the Supreme Court, for the Eastern district, for the price of
  a seal and press for the court, and a seal for the supreme court for the
  Western district, and the sum of $116.00 is hereby appropriated to reinburse
  Joseph Reed for the expenses of putting in repair a wing of the State house
  in Philadelphia, for the safe keeping of the records and for the use of the
  office.  13 Apr 1807.
  146. An act for the relief of JOHN   STEEL.
  Whereas the donation tract of land allotted to John Steel, late a captain in
  the revolutionary army of the United States, for his services is deficient in
  quantity, containing only 424 acres and 85 perches, instead of 500 acres,
  therefore, the land officers are hereby authorized to issue a patent for 76
  acres of donation land, to be laid off from the east or west end of such
  tract as may be drawn by a line run and parallel to the east or west boundary
  line of the tract at the expence of John Steel. the residue of the tract shall
  be reserved for future appropriation.  13 Apr 1807.
  
  147. An act authorizing the court of Westmoreland county, to vacate that part
  of the state road that lies between ______   JONES' mill, and the line of
  Somerset county.
  Persons to be appointed to view the new road opened and made by THOMAS  
  JONES and WILLIAM   BACKHOUSE, and to report to the court.  13 Apr 1807.
  
  149. An act to enable MATHEW   GAUT and WILLIAM   ESPEY, to sell and convey
  lands.
  Whereas SAMUEL   GLASKOW, late of Fayette county, by his last will and
  testament dated 9 Mar 1805, devised to his daughter MARY   GLASKOW, 200
  pounds, to his daughter MARGARET   GLASKOW, 200 pounds, to his daughter
  ANN   GLASKOW 250 pounds, to his daughter JENNET   GLASKOW 300 pounds, and to
  his daughter RACHAEL   GLASKOW 400 pounds, and the executors have disposed of
  the personal estate, which discharged all the debts of the deceased, but will
  not extend to the payment of the legacies, therefore, it shall be lawful for
  Mathew Gaut, and William Espey, executors, to sell and convey a tract of land
  in Fayette county, containing 320 acres, with the appurtenances, and the
  proceeds applied to the payment of the legacies, provided so much of the
  money arising from the sale as may be coming to Rachael Glaskow, a minor,
  shall be paid to her guardian and placed out at interest.  13 Apr 1807.
  
  150. An act to raise by lottery a sum of money to defray the expenses
  incurred by the trustees of the German Lutheran Congregation near the village
  of Elizabethtown, Lancaster county.
  That JOHN   WOELFLEY, FREDERICK   HIPPLE, ABRAHAM   FISH and JOHN   SHARDLE,
  are hereby appointed commissioners to raise a sum not to exceed $3000.00.

  151. An act to raise $6000.00 by lottery, for the purpose of building a
  church for the use of the Lutheran and Calvinist congregation in Hamburg,
  Berks county, and for finishing the Presbyterian church in the borough of
  Pittsburg.
  That ROBERT   SCOTT, GEORGE   MILLER, PHILIP   KLINE, PHILIP   SEIDLE,
  JOHN   MEYER and ABRAHAM   BAILEY, of Berks county, are hereby appointed
  commissioners to raise $3000.00.
  
  That JOHN   WILKINS SEN., JOHN   JOHNSTON, WILLIAM   BOGGS and WILLIAM  
  PORTER are hereby appointed commissioners to raise $3000.00 to be applied to
