Obituary of Amy Mildred Carter Luckey 
as written in "The Albany Herald" dated 13 Nov 1969.  


Albany, Georgia.  Mrs. C. B. Luckey, 52, 111 E. Rosewood Drive, died 
Wednesday, 12 Nov 1969, afternoon in Phoebe Putney Hospital following an illness.  
Mrs. Luckey had been a resident of Albany for the past 12 years and was a day nursery 
attendant at Byne Memorial Baptist Church.  She was born 2 Jun 1917, in Grady County, 
Georgia and was the daughter of John S. and the late Bessie Dairus Carter.  She was the 
former Miss Mildred Carter.  Mrs. Luckey was graduated from Meigs High School in 
1936. She was a member of Byne Memorial Baptist Church and the Deborah Sunday 
School Class.  Survivors include her husband, Charles B. Luckey of Albany; a daughter, 
Miss Judy Luckey of Albany; a son, Charles A. Luckey of Atlanta; her father, John S. 
Carter of Pelham; a sister, Mrs. L. W. Adams of Albany; three brothers, L. K. Carter of 
Montgomery, Ala., Fred W. Carter of Albany and Charles D. Carter of Nashville, Tenn.  
The funeral was conducted today, 13 Nov 1969, at 3:00 PM at the Byne Memorial 
Baptist Church, the Rev E. A. Abbott, pastor, officiating and interment in Floral Memory 
Gardens. Pallbearers (active) were Fred Sink, Harold N. McMillian, Wiley Cox, Bruce 
Grayson, W. S. Newsome Jr., and Don Lanier; honorary: Board of Deacons of Byne 
Memorial Baptist Church.  The Deborah Sunday School Class was to attend as a body.  
Kimbrell-Stern Funeral Directors were in charge of arrangements.
