Jessie Willard Hill

ALBANY — Jessie Willard Hill (Ret. MSgt. US Army), 82, of Eugemar Drive, died 
Tuesday, January 14, 2003, at Magnolia Manor Nursing home in Americus, GA.

The funeral service will be held Thursday at 2 P.M. at Crown Hill Cemetery with 
the Rev. Tony Haefs officiating.

A native of Glencoe, AL, Mr. Hill had lived in Albany since 1944, and was a 
member of Sherwood Baptist Church. He was a retired Master Sergeant of the 
United States Army, having served in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam in the 
First Air Calvary. He received a Purple Heart, Bronze Star Medal, Air Medal, 
Army Commendation Medal, American Defense Service Medal and the United Nations 
Service Medal for his service to our country. He also received 21 service 
ribbons representing 58 awards and decorations. He was a member of the Disabled 
Veterans of America. Mr. Hill was a charter member of the Mended Hearts, 
Chapter #160.

He is survived by his wife, Bessie Baltas Hill of Albany; daughter, Ann Kieve 
Kennedy and her husband Larry of Albany; son, Joe M. Kieve and his wife Dale of 
Riverdale, GA; sister, Betty Jo May and her husband Doyle of Glencoe, AL; two 
brothers, Maurice Hill and his wife Marylin of Glencoe, AL and Jerry Ray Hill 
and his wife Della of Gulf Shores, AL; six grandchildren, Debbie Monroe, Lynn 
Banks, Mary Jo Hollis, Jay Kieve, Kevin Kennedy and Brent Kennedy; six great-
grandchildren, Jessie, Emma, Riley, Casey, Chandler and Rachael.

The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
