Rites Set for T. A. Saunders 

  Funeral services for Turpin A. Saunders, Sr., who was found dead in his bed 
yesterday morning about 4 a.m. at his home near Chuckatuck, will be held 
tomorrow morning at 11 o'clock at the Baker Funeral Home. 

  The Rev. H.S. Hardcastle, pastor of the Berea Christian Church, will conduct 
the services, while burial will take place in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Turpin Saunders Buried Yesterday 

  Funeral services for Turpin A. Saunders, Sr., who died early Thursday 
morning at his home near Chuckatuck, were held yesterday morning at 11 o'clock 
at the Baker Funeral Home.  The Rev. H.S. Hardcastle conducted the services. 

  The Rev. O.D. Poythress sang "When They Ring Those Golden Bells" and "I Will 
Not Forget Thee."  Dr. Hardcastle read Tennyson's "Crossing the Bar" at the 
graveside. 

  The pall was of Easter lilies, red roses and white carnations.  Pallbearers 
were A.S. Smith, C.W. Darden, Lafayette Gwaltney, W.G. Saunders, Mike Wright, 
George Corbin, Jr., T.J. Saunders and Hugh Saunders. 

  Interment followed in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

   newspaper project - the microfilm was badly scratched before scanning.
