Philhower Rites Set For Friday, 2:30 P. M. 

  Funeral services for Mrs. Nettie Nelms Philhower will be held at the 
residence, 115 Wellons street, Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock.  Services 
will be conducted by Dr. John G. Truitt, assisted by the Rev. I.W. Johnson 
and burial will be in Cedar Hill cemetery. 

  Active pallbearers will be: Dr. William C. Gibson, Dr. O.R. Yates, Dr. F.J. 
Morrison, J.R. Vann, I.B. Powell, Hersey Woodward, Jr., Lynn Baker and Sidney 
Davis. 

  Honorary pallbearers will be as follows: E.E. Jones, A.J. Powell, J. Walter 
Hosier, R.A. Brinkley, Miles Parker, R.H. Brinkley, W.W. Ballard, O.S. Smith, 
Sr., S.W. Nelms, Capt. A.L. Roberts, R.L. Speight and J.H. Byrd.

Her parents, Stephen John & Martha Eliza (GAY) NELMS, are buried in 
   Block C, Lot 111:

Her father (1844 - 1893) was a Confederate veteran, having served as a 
   private in Co. E, 6th VA Infantry, & as an ambulance driver.  Her mother 
   (1840 - 1926) applied for a pension May 14, 1917.
