ELISHA HOLLAND DIES IN COUNTY 

Well-Known Farmer of Holland Community Succumbs To Short Illness At Age 79; 
Funeral Sunday. 

  Elisha Smith Holland, aged 79, a well-known farmer of Nansemond, died at his 
home near Holland at 7 a.m. today, succumbing to a short illness. 

  Mr. Holland was a son of the late Carr and Christine Holland.  He is 
survived by his widow, Mrs. Texanna Holland; a son, Willie E. Holland, and a 
daughter, Miss Clara Mae Holland, all of Nansemond county.  Also four 
grandchildren survive him, as do a sister, Mrs. Julia Tomlin, and a brother, 
Carr Holland, Jr., all of Nansemond. 

  Funeral services will be conducted from the residence Sunday afternoon at 3 
o'clock, with the Rev. Dr. N.G. Newman and the Rev. W.M. Jay, officiating. 
Burial will be made in the family cemetery.
