EMMA FLORINE COSTEN CORBELL 

CORBELL FUNERAL SET FOR TUESDAY 

Prominent and Beloved Sunbury Woman, Whose Death Occurred At Her Home 
   Early Sunday Morning, to Be Buried At Chuckatuck. 

  Mrs. Florine Costen Corbell, a prominent and beloved woman of Sunbury, N.C., 
died unexpectedly Sunday morning at 1:45 o'clock at her home.  She is survived 
by her husband, Dr. E.F. Corbell, three daughters, Mrs. Arthur Corbell Lynch, 
of Norfolk, Miss Elizabeth and Florine Corbell, of Sunbury, N.C., a sister, 
Mrs. Levin Woolford, of Sunbury, N.C.; four brothers, C.W. Costen, Dr. I.W. 
Costen, George Costen and Tom Costen of Red Level, Ala.  She is also survived 
by a number of nieces and nephews. 

  Mrs. Corbell was a former president of the Sunbury Woman's Club, and also 
was at one time president of the Sixteenth District of the North Carolina 
State Sanitarium Board, having been appointed to the office by Gov. Gardner. 
She was prominent in her community in all good works, church service and 
charitable efforts, and was widely interested in women's activties. 

  The funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock at St. 
Peter's Chapel, Sunbury. N.C., conducted by her pastor.  Interment will be 
held in St. John's church cemetery, in Chuckatuck, Va.

MRS. FLORINE CORBELL 

  Funeral services for Mrs. Florine Corbell were held Tuesday morning at 11 
o'clock at St. Peter's Chapel, Sunbury, N.C., conducted by the Rev. J.E. 
Malone and Rev. Edward P. Miner.  The members of the church choir rendered 
the hymns, "Lead Kindly Light," "Face to Face, and "Jesus Calls Us." 

  There were many handsome floral designs the casket being covered with a 
double end spray of Easter lilies and fern.  There was a very large 
attendance. 

  Active pallbearers: John Phillips, John Corbell, Ralph Costen, Jasper Cotton 
[sic; Cotten], Corbell Cotton, Dr. R.L. Corbell, Dr. Southgate Leigh, Jr., C.F. 
McKay.  Honorary: Dr. H.M. Hunter, Dr. Southgate Leigh, Sr., Dr. W.E. Driver, 
Dr. W.B. Martin, Dr. W.T. Blanchard, Dr. T.L. Carter, Dr. J.E. Rawles, Dr. 
J.L. Rawles, Alfred Slaughter, T.A. Jordan, M.A. Cross, W.S. Cross, Arthur 
Woolford, J.M. Glenn, Will Cooper, J.R. Hill, Will Cross, Reuben Hatcher, H.C. 
Benton, Martin Kellogg, Haslette Rountree, O.S. Smith, Jr., Ernest Thomas, 
Jimmie Brown, L.M. Rountree, John Corbitt, Otto Lynch. 

  Interment was made in St. John's Church cemetery at Chuckatuck.

   Edwin T., son of John Daniel CORBELL, citing Book 7, p. 56.
