Marie Ann Dennis 1913 ~ 2004 Marie Dennis passed away peacefully in her home
holding her husband's hand and surrounded by family on December 18th. She was
a cancer survivor, surviving kidney and lung cancer for eight years. Marie
was born May 22, 1913 to William and Anna Plessel and was raised on a farm in
Pine County, Minnesota where she lived with seven brothers and sisters during
the depression. Her mother died when she was six, and she helped her father
raise the younger children. After leaving the farm, she worked during the
depression as a cook and housekeeper. She married her husband, Raymond Aug. 6,
1941 and raised two children, Eugene Dennis and Kathleen Dennis. Marie is
survived by her husband, her two children, four grandchildren, three
great-grandchildren, as well as by her sisters and best friends, Marcella

where he was stationed at Ft. Snelling. When he was transferred to Little
Rock, Arkansas she began her life of adventure, traveling by train to meet and
marry Raymond. They traveled from army base to base in this country and
Europe. Their last move was to Bountiful when her third grandchild Jamie was
born, who Marie helped raise. Wherever she lived, she made it a home for her
family, and kept in touch with all her relatives in Minnesota. She liked to
cook, camp, travel, walk, garden, eat raspberries and was an avid reader of
romance novels. In her final moments her greatest love was ice cream of any
variety! Most of all though, Marie loved her family and was the glue that kept
everyone connected. The family would like to say thanks to Carolyn Taylor and
all the wonderful staff of South Davis Hospice for the support and love they
gave during the last two months. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday,
