Fort Worth – Thos H. Law, attorney, a native of Austin and resident of Fort
Worth since 1946, died Saturday, Sept. 2, 2006, at his residence in his 89th
year.

Funeral services will occur in the sanctuary of First Presbyterian Church at 3
p.m., Wednesday.  The Rev. Michael Waschevski and Dr. Tom Green will officiate.
Interment:  Greenwood Memorial Park, Fort Worth.

Pallbearers:  Dabney D. Bassel, Larry C. Bracken, Walter S. Fortney, Jay S.
Garrett, Marvin Gearhart, Kelley B. Hill, Ed Huddleston, C. N. Marsh, Robert M.
Randolph, Rice M. Tilley, Jr., A. Burch Waldron and Robert F. Watson.

Honorary pallbearers:  The Honorable Jim Wright and Jenkins Garrett.

Memorials:  His memory may be honored with a gift to Thos. H. Law Endowment at
the University of Texas at Austin; the Thos. H. Law Scholarship at Texas
Wesleyan University; the Rotary Club of Fort Worth Foundation; or a charity of
choice.

Tom received much recognition at the University of Texas where he was a member
of Phi Beta Kappa, a track letterman, captain of the debate squad and chairman
of the Judiciary Council.  He enjoyed more than four years of meritorious and
honorable service in the U. S. Navy during World War II.

He began his law practice in Fort Worth in 1946, retiring as president of his
law firm, Law, Snakard & Gambill, upon reaching the mandatory age, and continued
to practice in the status Of Counsel.

He will always be remembered for his dedication to professional, educational and
community affairs throughout his life.  He was a deacon, ruling elder and a
trustee of First Presbyterian Church of Fort Worth, and a distinguished alumnus
of the University of Texas at Austin.

His memory is remembered especially for his interest in the collection of
English gold coins.  His collection is rated as the best in the Western
Hemisphere, the third best in the world, and has received many acclaims from the
largest numismatic association in the world, which oversees its keeping.

The quiet, unassuming manner of this exceptional man is shown in his statement
to the press when in his junior year he ran against John Connally for president
of the UT student body:  Thank goodness he won instead of me.  Otherwise, I
might have spent my life trying to be a politician.  I certainly could have
never been as good as John.

Survivors:  His family is his wife, the former Jo Ann Nelson; their children,
Tom, Jr. and Debra Law McKeown; stepchildren, Barbara Evans Kinnear and Don
Evans; and a sister, Mary Harrington.
