SMITH CEMETERY
ALSO KNOWN AS MOUNT PLEASANT
LOGAN TEXAS, PANOLA COUNTY
ESTABLISHED 1925

This cemetery is located behind the old Mount Pleasant Baptist Church.
 It is on land once owned by Lorenzo Harris Adams. 
Lorenzo donated the land for the Mount Pleasant church and the school. 
Lorenzo and his second wife Naomi VestieLawrence’ daughter Julie Adams Smith 
and her son Cecil Smith were the first people buried in the cemetery in 1925.
