Latrobe Bulletin (Latrobe, Pennsylvania) 6/21/1923
At 3:15 this morning, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Calvin Marks, near Baggaley,
Eli Hughes, a well known resident of the Youngstown district, died from a
complication of diseases. Mr. Hughes was aged 73 years and leaves to survive five
daughters, Mrs. D. L. Custis, of West Lafayette, Ohio; Mrs. H. C. Mershon, of
Youngstown; Mrs. A. G. Dixon, of North Carolina; Mrs. Calvin Marks, of Baggaley; and
Miss Gertrude Hughes, of Baggaley; and three sons, Isaac Hughes, of Port Huron,
Michigan; George Hughes, of Oakmont; and Sidmon Hughes, of Whitney. One sister, Mrs.
Anna Barnhart, of Youngwood, also survives. Funeral services will be held on
Saturday morning at 10 o'clock at the residence of Mrs. Marks near Baggaley.
Interment will be made in the Methodist cemetery, at Youngstown. (Obit: 6/21/1923)
