D.P. HAWKINS, the jailor at Decatur, Texas, shot and instantly killed
a prisoner named JEFF MOORE, last Tuesday evening.  MOORE, was under 
conviction for theft, and attempted to overpower HAWKINS and escape, 
when HAWKINS shot him the ball entering his neck instantly killing him.
