The Will of Paulina Law

Be it Remembered, That at a Surrogate's Court, held at the Surrogate's Office
in Delhi in and for the County of Delaware, on the 1 day of Dec 1890, the last
Will and Testament of Paulina Law late of the Town of Colchester in the County
of Delaware, deceased, was duly proved, before Albert H. Sewell, Esq.,
Surrogate of said County, and was by said Surrogate adjudged valid, and
established as a Will of real and personal Estate, and the same, together with
the proofs and examinations taken on the probate thereof, are, pursuant to an
order of the Surrogate here recorded, to wit:

In the name of God.  Amen.  I Paulina Law of the age of seventy nine years
being of sound mind and memory do hereby make publish and declare this my last
Will and Testament in manner favoring viz

First, I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary Adeline Holmes Eight hundred 
dollars ($800.)

Secondly, I give and bequeath to my son William S. Law the sum of One thousand 
dollars ($1000.)

Thirdly, I give and bequeath to my daughter Sarah Eliza Young the sum of Eight 
hundred dollars ($800.)

Fourthly, I give and bequeath to the Baptist Society of Walton one hundred 
dollars $100

If any thing remains of my Estate after paying my debts funeral expenses, the 
settling up of any Estate __ I do hereby will that it shall be paid to my son 
Wm. S. Law & if there shall not be enough to pay the above amounts or legacies 
then each shall be paid in proportion to the amounts willed.  I do hereby
revoke all other wills by me made &

Lastly, I hereby nominate and appoint Alston W. Hulbert Executor of this my
last Will and Testament.

In Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 17th day of 
September 1888.

The above instrument consisting of one half of legal paper was at the date 
thereof signed sealed published & declared by the said Paulina Law as her last 
Will and Testament in presence of us at her request and in her presence & in 
presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses thereunto.

DELAWARE COUNTY, ss.

John E. Salton of the Town of Hamden in said County of Delaware, and James H. 
Turnbull of the Town of Hamden in said County, being duly and severally sworn
in open Court, do severally depose and say, that they were acquainted with
Paulina Law late of the Town of Colchester in said County of Delaware,
deceased, in her life time, and are the subscribing witnesses to her last Will
and Testament.  

That the saud Paulina Law did in the presence of these deponents, subscribe
her name at the end of the instrument which is now shown to them and which
purports to be the last Will and Testament of the said Paulina Law and bears
the date the 17 day of Sept 1888, and that the said Paulina Law did at the
time of subscribing her name to said instrument as aforesaid, declare the same
to be her last Will and Testament, in the presence and hearing of these
deponents, who did thereupon at her request and in her presence and in the
presence of each other, subscribt their names at the end of the said Will as
attesting witnesses thereto.  That at the time thereof the said Paulina Law
was of sound mind and memory, of full age to make said Will, and not under any
restraint.

I, Albert H. Sewell, Surrogate of the County of Delaware, do hereby certify
that the foregoing is a correct copy of the whole of the probate of the last
Will and Testament of Paulina Law deceased, together with the proofs and
examinations taken on the probate thereof.
