In the name of God Amen I, Eve Smith of the County of Orange
and State of Northcarolina being well as Common as to health and
of perfect mind and memory thanks be to God Calling unto
mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appoin
=ted for all Women once to die do make and ordain this my last
Will and testament: that is to say principally and first of
all I give and Recommend my soul into the hands of almigh
-ty God that gave it and my body I recommend to the Earth
to be buried in a decent Christian burial at the discretion of
my Executors nothing doubting but at the general resurrection
I shall Receive the same again by the mighty power of god
and as touching such Worldly estate wherewith it hath plea
=sed God to bless me in this ["Worldly estate wherewith" x-out] life
I give desire[sic] and dispose of the same in the following man=
=ner and form first I give and bequeath unto my beloved
Cousin in law Peter Smith one mare and one cow two beds
and furniture and one chest one dutch oven one pot six
pewter plates three pewter Dishes four chairs one Coffee
mill four knives and forks three flax wheels one Reel
one lanthorn one candlestick one trunk and ax now in the
possession of Martain Neese and allso all my Wearing
Clothes and howsel[household] furniture Consisting of every thing
that I possess at my decease Ratifying and Confirming this
and no other to be my last Will and testament in Witness
Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this four=
=teenth Day of August in the year of our Lord Eighteen
