THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, LAFAYETTE COUNTY
To any Minister of the Gospel, Judge of the State of Mifsifsippi,
Judge, Justice or other officer of Lafayette County authorized to celebrate
the marriage ceremony – Greetings.
You are hereby authorized to celebrate the rites of matrimony between
W. P. Carruth and Sarah A. F. Pool.
A certificate of the solemnization thereof you will transmit to the Clerk of
the Probate
Court of said County within six months from the date hereof.
In Testimony Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the seal of my
office
this 25 day of December A.D. 1865.

By virtue of the above License I have this day joined in the holy bonds of
Matrimony, W. P. Carruth and Sarah A. F. Pool.

Additional Comments:
W P. Carruth is Wilburn Posey (Doc) Carruth (1840-1908), son of Alford Carruth
& Rebecca (Eckles) Echols. Sarah A. F. Pool is Sarah Frances Ward (1845- ),
daughter of John & Elizabeth Ward. This is her 2nd marriage, the first being
to an unknown Pool & possibly in Lafayette Co, MS.
