Chesapeake Hospice House on April 1, 2010 due to cancer. James was born to his
parents, James Andrew Fortner, Sr. and Dorothy Eleise (Sellier) Fortner on Oct.
3, 1938 in Biloxi, MS. Raised in Pascagoula, MS.

Mrs. Emma Jean Foster, 77, of Ocean Springs, MS passed away April 1,
2010 in Ocean Springs; born April 29, 1932 in Jefferson Davis County,
MS. She was the daughter of Charlie E. King and Ollie Foles King.
Preceded in death by her parents; her twin sister, Emma Lou; three
brothers and one other sister.

Jason Dean Church, 23, of Moss Point, passed away April 2, 2010
in Moss Point. Jason was born in Harrison Co., MS. Preceded in death
by his mother, Debra Poole Church; his brother, Ricky Charlton; his
grandfather, Lemual B. Church and his grandmother, Florence I. Church.
Funeral services will be at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Don
Edeker officiating.

Susan Diane Mars, 50, born in Pascagoula, passed away April 2, 2010
in Gautier. Preceded in death by her father, O'Neal Mars. At her
request, Diane was cremated and a memorial service will be held with
Rev. J. L. Busby officiating.

Mrs. Martha Helen Sims Bradley, 84, a longtime resident of
Ocean Springs, MS, died April 3, 2010, in Ocean Springs. She was a
member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by her
parents, Floyd and Christine Sims.

Mrs. Martha Buchana, 77 of Moss Point died April 3, 2010.

Michael James Polaski, 71, of Ocean Springs, MS died April 3, 2010 in
Ocean Springs. He is survived by his wife, stepson and relatives in
Wisconsin and many, many friends. A private memorial service was held
at the Elks Lodge #2501.

Arthur V. "Red" Wilson, 72, of the Helena community, MS passed away
April 3, 2010. Born in Belzoni, MS and was one of 11 children. Many of
his family and friends called him "Captain" for his 38 years of
service with the Moss Point Police Department. He retired with 45
years of service with the City. Preceded in death by his parents,
Arthur W. & Palace W. Wilson, a daughter, Eva Bonita Wilson, 3 sisters
and 1 brother. Services will be in the chapel of the Funeral Home with
Rev. Randall Stork officiating.

Dorothy " Dottie" Barham, 81, of Pascagoula, MS passed away
April 4, 2010 in Pascagoula. Mrs. Barham was born March 4, 1929 to the
late Ernest and Laura Dees. Preceded in death by her husband, John
Barham Sr.

Alton Douglas McVeay, 63, a native and life long resident of Gautier,
MS passed away on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2010 at his residence. Alton
was a graduate of Pascagoula High School in 1965. He was a former
Public Accountant and Instructor at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community
College. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Gautier. Preceded
in death by his parents, Walter Lawrence McVeay and Katie Naomi
Grimsley McVeay; sister, Dorothy Rouse; two brothers, Edgar Burnette
McVeay and Gerald Dale McVeay. He is survived by his five brothers and
two sisters. Visitation: Bethel Baptist Church in Gautier. Funeral
Service will follow with Rev. Brian Miller officiating.

Helen Christine Poole Pierce, 81, of the Forts Lake Community, East
Jackson County, MS, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2010 in
Grand Bay, AL. She was born August 28, 1928 in Grand Bay. Preceded in
death by her parents, Albert "Bud" & Ollie Tanner Poole; husband,
Jesse Lawrence Pierce; three sisters and three brothers. A graveside

Mrs. Vee Ellen Long Adams, 71, of Pascagoula, MS passed away
April 5, 2010 in Ocean Springs; born September 27, 1938 in Chipley,
FL. She was the owner of Adams Tax Service and a member of Midway
Baptist Church, Moss Point and she was a 1956 graduate of Moss Point
High School where she was valedictorian. Preceded in death by her
husband, Don B. Adams; her parents, Chester and Grace Pitts Long,
daughter, Lisa Diane Adams and sister, Mary Long Jones. Services with
Rev. Ray McCorkle officiating.

Kay Buchanan Burlison, 49, died April 5, 2010. She had resided in
Colorado Springs, CO since 1999 and was a former resident of Ocean
Springs, MS. A native of Stone Co., MS. A memorial service at the
Perkinston Baptist Church, Perkinston, MS. Kay was preceded in death
by her grandparents, the Rev. O. B. and Elizabeth (Davis) Renick, and
W. L. and Melba (Griffith) Buchanan.

Mrs.Christine Carter, 95, of Big Point, MS passed away April 5, 2010
in George County. She was born November 28, 1914 in Calloway County,
KY. Mrs. Carter was a member of Big Point United Methodist where she
was a long time Sunday School Teacher. Preceded in death by her
parents, James and Lara Bradley; husband, Matthew Carter; sister,
Lorine Bradley Goff.

Baptist Church, Pasc. Also preceded in death, her husband, James C.

John Franklin Tate, Sr., 67, and a resident of Gulfport, MS died
April 6, 2010, in Ocean Springs, MS.

Mr. Rondo Westbrook Barksdale Sr., 59, born in Jackson, MS, and
a resident of Ocean Springs, MS. Mr. Barksdale was the great-great
grandson of Congressman Ethelbert Barksdale, a well know journalist
and the brother of General William Barksdale who was killed in the
Battle of Gettysburg during the Civil War. His
maternal-great-grandfather was General Richard Griffith, who was
killed at the Battle of Savage's Station and was succeeded in command
by General Barksdale. Following the example of his distinguished
ancestors, Rondo Barksdale volunteered for military duty at a young
age and served his country with distinction during the Vietnam War. He
was the devoted son of the late Genevieve Wilde Barksdale and Harris
Barksdale, Jr. Survivors include a son, one half-sister and two
half-brothers. Burial will be after a private family service.

Bruce Kelly Branam, 50, passed away April 7, 2010 at his home in
Biloxi. He was born in Pascagoula, MS. Preceded in death by his
mother, Mary Rose Williams Branam.

Charles Gerald Buntyn, 78, born in Newton County, MS, a resident of
Moss Point, MS passed away April 7, 2010 in Pascagoula. Mr. Buntyn
owned and operated Buntyn Monument Company with his wife Drunett from
1954 until 1997. He attended Caswell Springs United Methodist Church.
Preceded in death by his parents, Claude Cornelius and Lillian Odell
Buntyn; his wife, Edna Drunett Goff Buntyn and a brother, Terry
Buntyn. Mr. Buntyn is survived by his four children. A graveside
service with Rev. Brian Scott officiating.

brothers George Rivera and Rueben Rivera.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held

Mrs. Edna Earl McCorvey Watson, 87, was born in Beatrice, Alabama on
May 27, 1922 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Wiley (Estelle) McCorvey, died
April 15, 2010 in Pascagoula, MS. Preceded in death by her husband,
the late James Watson, Jr.; four brothers, Clyde McCorvey, Leslie
McCorvey, Lonnie McCorvey and Eddie McCorvey; two sisters, Rosie
Stanton and Caldonia Cannon. She was a long lived resident of Jackson County, MS
for over 50 years. Mrs. Watson accepted Christ early in life and was baptized at
Antioch Baptist Church in Tunnel Springs, AL. After moving to Moss Point, MS she
united with the First Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral Services 
at First Missionary Baptist Church, 4600 Main Street, Moss Point.

2010, in Pascagoula. Amy was a member of Church on the Rock in
Pascagoula, where she worked faithfully in KID'S ROCK, the children's
ministry of the church. Preceded in death by her maternal grandfather,
Charles Ray Miller and her paternal grandparents, Joyce Francis and
Bernard Dewitt Tucker. The funeral service will be Thursday, April 22,
2010, at 10:30 a.m. from the chapel of Funeral Home, with Pastors
Rodger Bradley and James V. Miller, officiating.

away at his home in Gillette, WY on April 22, 2010. Preceded in death
by his son, Brian.  A memorial service will be held at the family home

2010 in Pascagoula, MS. Freda was born in Stonewall, MS. She owner of
Property Shop Realty and Appraisals in Pascagoula, MS. Preceded in
death by her mother, Janie Long Carlisle and her father, Hamon Carlisle.

Earl Lavon Nelson, 75, of Poplarville, MS, formerly of Pascagoula,
passed away April 24, 2010 in Hattiesburg. He was born in Escatawpa.
Mr. Nelson was a Pascagoula City Councilman from 1975 until 1980. He
spearheaded the 14th Street overpass project and was instrumental in
founding the Pascagoula Wastewater Authority. Preceded in death by his
parents, James Leslie & Juanita Rabby Nelson; sister, Janelle Greiner;
and a brother-in-law, Dr. John H. Stone IV.

Springs, MS. He was born July 1, 1925, in New Hebron, Mississippi. He
graduated from Clinton High School where he was a member of the

Stevens and his parents, Lily and William Stevens; his sisters, Myrtis
Brown, Rose Cupit, Thelma Russell and Eulah Hutson.

Lee Funeral Home in Brandon MS. Services: Shiloh United Methodist
Church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Carter was born August
20,1916 and was raised in the Shiloh Community in Rankin County, MS.

David Lee Sizenbach, 67, of Moss Point, MS passed away April 28, 2010
in Lucedale, MS. He was born in Clinton, Iowa.

passed away April 30, 2010. She was born on June 21, 1924, to the late
Sarah and James Ellis. Preceded in death by her husband, Paul Bailey
Kilpatrick; two great-granddaughters, Candice Polite and Chanley Gray.
