Elgin O. Rex was born in Ashland county, Ohio, in 1858.  At the age of
seven his parents moved with him to Illinois, where they lived until 
1866, when they came to Missouri and settled in Lafayette county, where
our subject has since resided, engaged in farming, since arriving at
manhood's estate.  He was united in marriage in February, 1879, to Ada
B. Smith, of this county.  They have one child, viz.: Archie Milton.
