Maplewood Trivia: There is a plat map located of the Maplewood Cemetery,
for the ownership of lots at Maplewood.This is current up to about 5
years ago.
The oldest part of Maplewood has a section called Potters field. There
are burials in that section without stones along with areas where it is
unknown if anyone is buried in the spaces so they do not bury anyone
there.

Northcutt, In 1939, Dr. Mary, as she was called by her patients and
almost everyone else in the area, moved to Cassville to share a medical
practice with Dr. George Newman at the Barry County Clinic and Hospital.
The following year, Dr. Newman and Dr. Mary Jane Northcutt were married.
Dr. George Newman died in 1949 and the hospital closed a year later. Dr.
Mary then opened her own offices and served on the staff of the
Community Hospital in Cassville and later at St. Vincent's Hospital in
Monett. Dr. Mary loved the practice of medicine and especially
delivering babies. She delivered hundreds of babies in her 47-year
career, including one set of triplets. She was proud of the fact that
she never lost a mother.
