                             Arthur H.Rubach 

A lifelong resident, Arthur H. Rubach, 80, of 416 Lafayette, suffered a heart 
attack at his home Sunday after noon wile watching the baseball game on 
television. he wa taken by ambulance to Ionia County Memorial Hospital where he 
was pronounced dead on arrival.

Born in Ionia, May 4, 1910, he was the son of Frederick and Augusta Stoll Rubach 
and attended St.Johns Lutheran school and Ionia High School.

He was employed at Ypsilanti Reed Furniture Company until accepting employment 
at Michigan Reformatory in 1939. He began as an upholstery foreman, was advanced 
to superintendent of the furniture factory and then as superintendent of prison 
industries, a position he held at the time of his death.

March 10, 1934, he was married to Rita Helmick at Stanton. he was a member of 
St. Johns Lutheran Church and was active in church offices.He was chairman of 
Lutheran scholarship fund, former Elder and trustee for several years and also 
Chairman of the board of Education at Lutheran School. He was a member of Ionia 
Fishing and Hunting Club.

Besides his wife, Rita, he leaves a son, Ronald; three grandchildren; and a 
brother, Herbert of Carson City.

Mr.Rubach is at Boynton-Leddick Funeral Home and will be taken to St.Johns 
Lutheran Church for services Wednesday at 2 p.m.Interment will be at Balcom 
Cemetery.

Family will be at the funeral home Monday from 7 to 9 and Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 
to 9 p.m.

A memorial fund has been established for St.Johns Lutheran Church.
