LINDERMAN
Raymond Lee Linderman, 88 of Ionia passed away peacefully at home the morning of
September 17, 2023.
He was born August 21, 1935, to Clarence and Gretchen (Smith) Linderman. A
lifelong resident of Ionia, proud member of Ionia High School class of '53, and
Army Vet. Ray married Patricia Ritchey, June 23, 1062.
He worked for Chrysler at the Lyons trim plant until its closing in 1979. He
then continued working with the Michigan Department of Corrections as an
industry Supervisor, until his retirement.
Ray was an avid sports fan, cheering for the Ionia Bulldogs and Detroit Tigers,
he suffered with theLions and quietly cheered for the Michigan Wolverines
despite his daughters best effortsRay also enjoyed traveling in his 5th wheel,
making many trips to the beaches on the Gulf and state parks throughout
Michigan.
Ray is survived y his wife of 61 years, Patricia; children Denise (Troy) Swanson
of Barnes, Wisconsin, Eric Linderman of Ionia, Daughter-in-law, Mary Ann
(Lincoln) of Portland; granddaughter Raechel Swanson of Burnsville,Minnesota,
grandsons Brandon Linderman of Ionia and Adam Linderman of Muir.Great-
grandchildren, Opal Mae, and Ryker James Lidnerman are the 5th generation of
Ray's family to live in Ionia.Ray (aka uncle Hump) is also survived by various
nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Ray is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Gretchen Linderman,
Parents-in-law, Theron and Cruea (Wilber) Ritchey, brother, Clarence Linderman
Jr., and sister Carol Ann Leak.
Visitation will take place on Monday,September 25th at 11 AM followed by the
funeral service at Noon at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia. As a 22 years cancer
survivor, donations may be made in Ray's name to the American Cancer Society.
